Respect - a Two Way Street

Hey there fella,
Listen up real fine
I'm gonna blast ya
With this slammin rhyme

You said I be trippin
Cuz i can't show my love
Well you still be creepin
With that itsy package you shove

Go back and give me
Something more than your haiku
For this big ol momma
I needs somethin to chew

Don't get all uppity
Or sig yer hoes on me
You mess with the wrong one
Can't your Silence see

You can make the others
Lick up all yo shoes
But head on off to boys town
For another that you choose

Shake bam rattle
I ain't showin you my stuff
Bye ya made up tyrant
This B has had enough

Two Way Dedication

On grassy field, with shady trees;
A lake to contemplate.
There is so much to discover,
and so much space to urinate.

An old man on a garden seat,
gives his time and quietly faces,
the drive of youth and freedom
in a young dog going places.

Two way dedication
becomes a lifelong bond
on a road that goes forever
then travels far beyond.

Time with it’s moving motion
won’t take a backward stride,
I prayed to God you hold on,
and Lord knows how you tried,
but I knew pain and suffering
were more than you could bear
so watching you was agony,
and totally unfair.

I know up there in heaven,
close to the pearly gates,
on the day that I arrive,
that’s where Tommy waits.

Two way dedication
becomes a lifelong bond
on a road that goes forever
then travels far beyond.

Whatever the color of your skin,
Whatever religious group you are in,
Whatever political party floats your boat,
What you think, or for whom you vote,
I can respect your right to be
If you give the same respect to me.

Do not label me what I may not be
From what I write, you cannot “know” me
I do not expect you to like everything I write,
If so, just click your mouse, do not start a fight.
I can respect your right to be
If you give the same respect to me.

I do not come to Poetry Soup
To find a particular like-minded group.
Not looking for somebody out to fight,
I come to share some poems I write.
I can respect your right to be
If you give the same respect to me.

I enjoy, too, reading the rhymes you post
I love to read the narrative stories most
Ideas, yes, I enjoy reading them, too,
But do not expect me to join your queue.
I can respect your right to be
If you give the same respect to me.

Whatever the color of your skin,
Whatever religious group you are in,
Whatever political party floats your boat,
What you think, or for whom you vote.
I can respect your right to be
If you give the same respect to me.

Two Way Street

Two way street
a common road
so much esteemed on the way one go's
Those who build a world with hands
and the bodies beaten to build those plans
Others figure with minds of brilliance
while charmers amass financial assistance

Our world, our human existence.

Dividends balanced in skewed proportion,
like the honor of men who have heart or the hunt
those who are trained to be manly men
or the smooth handed man "that world" would shun

Judge not cruel your fellow mate
for side of track their life encamped
what label worn or charity paid
to each a lovesome splendor attached

Behold the child with silver spoon
who feels no affection by day
or the orphans hair tenderly brushed
for Samaritans pity long the way

There beyond thou mansion fair
a beauty is beaten, lonely and scared
but she who wanders without a home
can be cherished more than riches owned

Our world, our human existence

Forfeiture or dispossession
affluent or highbrowed
all the difference still remains
to be loved or disavowed

I've pondered the pages between their covers
'twas this simple fact I've found...
our world is a quilt stitched by cultures
a solitary thread woven within and without

The difference is no difference at all
except the heights from which one falls
seams tear apart and like fabric lives unravel
yet you'll never find a road left untraveled

Nothing exists beyond a need
and nothing is ever as it seems

Our world, our human existence

What then is that of highest value
that which sparkles or that which lives
The blessing found in every child
or how massive an estate can be built?

Traveled now in both directions
paralleling both sides of the journey
The greatest value one can attest
is to walk either road with mercy

Dignity lies estranged from pride
for pride is a predator disguised
One set in mind "I have arrived"
and shames the value of another's life

If on a one way street you'd rather
tread your way without your brother
go ahead
judge a book by its cover

Life is laden with countless pages
none void of feeling or untouched
Keep in mind the two way street...

where direction giving life is TO LOVE

Premium Member The Two Way Mirror

I fly through the trees, my eyes fixed on a cup

 of water

That drifts

between Heaven & Hell, since

                                    smiling drugstores sell ice

cream for

cancer, until midnight captures

stars reflecting

The Carny's bark of deliverance, while

 mice sleep for

centuries, as

Wagons circle around junipers, parched jasmine

 lays

forgotten until

reports of muskets shake power, absent 'till gold

surrenders to floating

Shards of glass, speaking mystical tongues from

 mouths of

Mustangs trampling

religion that heralds Cathedrals of Angels-

    voices, my Grandfather promised

         tomorrow

                voices,

                        my Grandfather

                                              promised

                                                           tomorrow

A Writer's Two-Way Mirror

A writer’s two-way mirror

Unseen, I watched the live actor.
My eyes followed every gesture.
Speckled realities captured
My senses re-manufactured.
Next time I will remain a mere spectator.

Love Is a Two-Way Street

Love Is A Two-Way Street
Especially, if People on Each other do cheat
Complicating the relationship with deceit
Causing for History to Constantly repeat
When the Tango calls for a second pair of feet
It's like Musical Chairs and racing for that seat
How Each Other with SEX, We look to outbeat
For,what good is a sandwich, without the meat?
But, who REALLY wins, if the Purpose it does defeat?

The Rite of Passage

The rite of passage

The old green wagon moves a life
		Heads appear like nodding gulls
Eyes cast down searching cracked flags
Hopes from people sadly to be missed.
		Un-walked limestone worn and smooth
		Names unknown pronounced with care
Cats are watching ears laid flat
		Hoping for a swift return.
Birnbeck sits in swathes of grey
Awash with things that crawled the tide
		Calloused hands help downward steps
		Keeping faith on steady legs.
In time with autisms dragging feet
Not knowing still how words are said
The backward journey seems so long
Help shunned by one straight eye.
		Early smells of flowering mint
Pervade young senses drawn to home
Ancient trees clasp hands above while
Rooks berate a passage walked that
		Knowingly follows time worn trails.

Kerb-stones line an unknown road that
		    Reach horizon's fading edges
Above a time worn scaffold sways
Perhaps to halt a wayward course.
Earth and ochres mix like blood
Healing scars sewn up in haste
That keep a soul from breaking up
Not caring should a life be lost.
		    Ink stained papers edges torn
Keep note of any ill thought word
Caen stone gently touched with love
Abate a sense of shame and loss.
		    Behind a broken brick façade
Held in place with hair and sand
Cements a quilt of truth and lies
Not yet for want of faith or feeling.
		    Unwanted dreams await their time
Held up by benches warped and bent
Each stroke and cut so carefully wrought
Helps sanity to keep its changing form
To live a life that can't be shared.

Two-Way War

I'm stuck in the middle of a two-way war.
The only thing is, I don't understand what it's for.
I know what I want, and that's what should count.
There is nothing else that should equally amount.
Yet I let the dreams of others get in the way.
I feel so inferior, and have nothing to say.
I live my life to satisfy others,
But in the end, it's me who smothers.
I know that we have only one life to live,
But in the end my choice to others I give.
Many times this causes fear. I become mad.
I begin to feel even more insecure and sad.
I'm sad that I allow others tell me what to do.
If I'd stand up for myself, my emotions would no more stew.
Being torn by anything is really hard on me.
From all this turmoil, I just want to be free.
It seems to be a punishment for all the wrong I did.
Personally, it's something of which I want to be rid.
However, until I can tell what all this is for,
I guess it's just a negative that I will have to endure.

The Two-Way Street of Love

I gave you all my love, every bit and piece,
But in return, you left me feeling incomplete.
I lost myself while loving you,
It's something I didn't want to do.

Love isn't supposed to leave you feeling drained,
Or like you've been neglected and left in the rain.
If one gives all and never receives,
Their heart will surely start to grieve.

Love grows when both give and take,
Efforts are shared, and hearts don't break.
It works when both put in the effort,
And show their love with words and comfort.

So don't give your all and lose yourself,
Find someone who reciprocates and shares your wealth.

Freedom, a Two-Way Street

Freedom, a two-way street

The truth shall liberate you,
A voice was heard as if from blue,
Yet, ere you relish such vague brew
It might make you see shades of blue.
One may or not have a clue,
But liberation has a hazy hue.
Man oft feels safe in a brick-walled prison,
And unsafe, roaming free under the sun,
Beware that truth may liberate you,
A two-edged sword be in my view.
