Wasted Time?

Another year passes, those days are all gone
I think of time wasted, and know there was none

For those moments I sat, idle and still
Preserved me from feeling over the hill
They gave me the strength to get on my way
And do things I should have done yesterday

All the times that I stood, and quietly listened
To friends of mine, who’ve thought, "it’s the end"
Is time I’ll get back, with interest you see
When they stop and listen, to what troubles me

Each peaceful moment, with nothing to do
I'll spend admiring the glorious view
Back down the year, the milestones laid
The things I've achieved and memories made

The time is not lost, it's carefully measured
Stored in my mind, and forever treasured

Premium Member The Key

Since my birth time has been pesent, fluid, tapping its flat feet in the shadows
Clueless was I as to its definition, or what its relevance was to life
Yet, I recall the joy of rainy days free of grown- up worry and strife
Being quite shy, I'd daydream; gazing blue skies and hanging out windows

Then suddenly, I turned and things changed! And I came to face the culprit
Time! It made me abandon my childhood; I was forced to leave behind my toys
Only Christmas celebrations and story books seem to bring me endless joy!
How I'd brood over doing homework of subjects I found non-descript!

In hindsight, all life meets Time on its terms, as it is, "The Ageless Wonder"!
Forever moving; impervious to class or stature; faster now, and I'm in a daze!
A consummate stalker it is, yet, leaving definite trails on each face!
'Is Time charged to monitor dreams'? Is a question I often ponder

I imagine, at creation Time stood as the key which opens and shuts all doors!
Seemingly built into all God's creatures maintaining order and strictest balance
Time was and has been a true instrument of God’s awesome power and prevalence
In a world where egos are gigantic and many want their share and more

Time just arrives, and time just goes.
And leaves right under our noses.
Time is made of, all memories.
And it just flows, and it just flows.

There is no time for us to lose.
With time we can never presume.
Time bring us happiness or gloom.
And time resumes, and time resumes.

Time can be sad, time can be fun.
And fills hours right under the sun.
Without time nothing can be done.
And we can't run,and we can't run.

Time is yest'rday, time is today.
And time is here for you and me.
Accept it, there's nothing to do.
Time is to stay, time is to stay.

Premium Member Defining Time

We are all children held tight in the arms of time
As it passes we must learn to grow and then read the sign

Eventually time becomes master to us all
For one-day father time will be making his final call

Wrinkles come with wisdom we earn over the years
They glorify our laughter and they signify our tears

Time is the one thing that can break down the most vain
They say time has the ability to heal any pain

Time is forever it is as vast as the sky
You will never defeat time no matter how hard you try

Spend your life living and cherishing the time you have got
Because one day your time on earth will end, like it or not

These final words that I pen are the swish of my sword
Time is a living entity we all know as the Lord

The Door -2- the Return

The great Kings and Queens have now returned
to a time and a land so foreboding and spurned.
Since the time they had left what could have gone wrong?
For what had once been, all Narnia now longed.

Little did they know the adventure in store,
the reason they were called back through “the door”.
This castle so strong an army had attacked,
Narnia was passing from sight- this to them was fact.

But one was born to rule and restore all things,
a Tamarin prince who was meant to be king.
Young Caspian grew up amidst deception and lust,
hardly was there now a soul he could trust.

Circumstances threw these young ones together,
choices they made would seal Narnia’s fate forever.
Hatred for the past fuled the world of men,
they swore the land of Narnia would never rise again.

Prince Caspian and High King Peter led the fight
rallying Narnian creatures in the quest for the right.
And so both sides had at it till mighty Aslan appeared,
the coming of the great lion put down Narnia’s fears.

Now, a just king Caspian’s words were heeded,
King Peter and Queen Susan were no longer needed.
The young ones vanished from the sight of them all-
Edmund and Lucy would one day hear "the call".

So, a last look around as they step through “the door”,
a tree in the courtyard took them to “ another shore”.
They arrived the same spot, awaiting the train
but having been in Narnia, they’d never be the same.

Displacement
_______________  =  Velocity
    Time

An equation with little importance
A lesson taken in physics class
But, something the physics teacher said made deep thoughts emerge
He said: “TIME goes on and never stops”

Places are visited and memories are cherished
Pictures are taken and smiles are captured
Walls embrace stones of reminiscence
TIME passes by, wishes are made, and we are enraptured

Age secretly whips pieces of our memory
Eyes narrow to symbolize remembrance
Then, we believe those pieces are lost
And our good TIMES vanished

These are nothing but mere ploys
Played by our mind
For those memories are at the back of our heads
Ready to appear whenever you, dear reader, want

To me,
T ales tune temperate
I dioms idealize indigenous innuendos
M ajestic mnemonics mollify memoirs
E xistence ends, Eternity endures ecstasy

Remember, dear passenger, that you are the leader
Lead TIME to the pleasant manors
Show TIME the warmth of what is within itself
Reveal the secret of importance to every second in TIME…

“Time is like a river. You can not touch the same water twice, because the flow that has
passed will never pass again. Enjoy every moment in life…” –Anonymous

You Reap What You Sow

Planting the garden with all love and kindness
I kneel and bow my head in quiet contemplation
Reflecting on life passed,
already slipped through my fingers
Of times my soil was not tendered by such kindred hand
When minutes were short
and hours so fully crammed with business
I'd simply open my seeds regardless of consequence
and scatter aimlessly upon the land
Much that fell about me would wither, fall, or fail
For quality of moment did not matter,
meant little to me
Little I did would flourish
for it surely wasn't manned nor intended
No nurturing, no love, no care, no nothing
Yet now my precious moments surely stand
I learnt in time to find freedom in saying no,
gently taking back that
that was too freely given
To once more take hold of pallet and brush with artistic flair
That my own world could bloom in full colour and take a stance
So I could get a grip, a hold on all
To really know how to stamp my brand
For time stands still for no-one

Eternity Road

Outside my window
cars are rushing by
      Inside my window
life is rushing by
     Vote for eternity!
Let the savage howls
     of the multitude
  fade in your mind
        Now is the time
for you to escape
   I'll join you
   we'll need a getaway car
and a heavy sense of peace
    I believe we can
    journey to a better place
if we join hands
      before dawn breaks
we'll have escaped
     the onrush of time
Learn to live peacefully
     blissfully unaware of
       the world's troubles
  Seeking shelter from the storm
we'll find the perfect spot
   Somewhere in the distance
  Eternity road beckons
   Let's not be too late
    to answer its call

Birds Told Us the Time

Four black birds sitting in a row.
Came to tell us it was her time to go.

Grandmom had seen them sitting on the line.
And wondered what their purpose was at the time.

She came to the waiting room and said that four birds
Kept flying to her with chirping messages their words.

They flew to her four times, each one trying to speak.
And all this time our loved one was growing very weak.

Slowly the clock made it to four.
And we were all sitting there watching the door.

We finally heard footsteps coming across the floor.
And the doctor told us our loved one had left us at four!

We then knew that these four birds had been sent
To tell us of our loved one's going before she went.

Tick -Tick -Tick --Oops

Oh for the time to find time,
And understand it’s demand on me if I can,
Let it be understood that if I could I would,
But the subject is much pursued and misconstrued.

You see before I wrote I began to dote on time this time.
And knew that when I would finally view.. my words,
It would be the future it would…or should..
That was in the past and as you see it did not last,

So in the past the future was yet to be here, I fear,
That past crashed which is evident in the words I've spent.
As I write, this thought arises that I fight,
That this present line in time will pass and quite fast.

That past is behind and the present will be in kind ,
And it too just passed but pay that no mind,
Because this last line passed that was once the future and did not last,
And soon this poem’s written future will end.. Ain’t that a gas? - Oops, it passed !

Lifetime

You can not regain lost time
for it is spent
Past
forever gone
The moment to hesitate is through
No way to turn those hands back
Retreat return – no, never
Seconds tick by
onwardly marching
For time it stops for no one

And yet the future
now is time
for change
for remembering
for recollecting
effecting what may be
doing things for the now
living life with no regrets
move on
for life time is precious

Time

Tic Tac goes the clock
And time don’t rewind
So don’t waste time
because you only have One time to shine.
Make your light be so bright that not even
The darkest night darken your inner light.

Shore of Time

By the shore, the sun now sets.
Here I stand, but time forgets
Standing, looking upon the sea
Will time be my enemy?

Memories flood from way back when
My head now filled of now and then
Some good, some bad, but all are mine
If only now, I had the time.

Whoa, to be able to one day return
Go back to the days for which I yearn
The life of love, I shared back then
Then, all my love, to you I’d send.

But, here is the now, present and still
No chance to go back, except for the will.
I have that want, so maybe you’ll see
A better tomorrow may come back to me.

Flaming Dart

The seconds turn to hours, and the days turn to years
Oh what must I do to stop the aging.
I need to grow, and let go of my fears
I see the clock's pendulum swing, as time has begun fading.
They say with time comes wisdom, but I say its untrue
for the more I progress I feel to fall apart,
I wish I knew everything then I'd know what to do
I see death coming for me, like a flaming dart.
I remember being told that I would live forever
but those were the days when I was naive,
eternal and a fulfilling life, that is my endeavor.
plese tell me why, my dear youth, why must you leave?
So as long as my heart beats, and my lungs breathe,
This life I go on living,
I sure do hope to succeed.

Forty-Five Minutes and I'M Way Ahead of You This Time.

Thirty minutes later. Two a.m. and I'm still here, I haven't forgotten......

Thirty minutes, tears are racing, creating clock hands that point to the edge of my chin,
trembling, my bones point only to the end and you, you're more than

thirty minutes late.

Screaming, I'm slashing my heart to bits, forty minutes now you've been screaming.

Forty minutes later, you've broken, me, I'm well aware of what happens to mothers..

postpartum...

and I paid for you, I paid for you for twenty-seven months and forty-five minutes

late

is only slightly too much for me to

bear.

You're not accepting this, your eyes are popping, Dear, there's blood dripping from your
glances and for

seventeen minutes and 17 days I've been twisting us into nothing while you've smiled at
me, I've been writing the truth that will shut you down...

you're illiterate, you're criss-crossing my statements into lies and my letters are
running from you...

they've been running for months now, back into my mouth to feel the safety of my tongue until

I kiss you

forty-five minutes

late.

Your steps are tick-tocking and Edger Allen Poe couldn't have saved us, underneath the
floorboards at night while I feel the insanity of time...

attack

what's left of me,

you're not doing this this time around, you're late and I'm trapped inside Tuesday, but
it's March now, Dear, and the years since we first kissed are counting themselves to four,
I'm serious about the edges that I've been sanding past midnight, I've saved the sawdust
for you

so you can eat the corners of me

next time your mouth opens, I've saved

myself

twenty-seven months

and thirty minutes

late

but I figure, as the words dance, frightened, on my tongue, at least I'm here

at least I'm thirty minutes ahead

of you.
