Premium Member If My Life Flashed Before My Eyes

If my life flashed before my eyes…

There would be a moment of sadness
Yet, there would be more joy and gladness

There would be a smile of recollection
With the melody of tender affection

There would be assurance and contentment
Without the whisper of pain or resentment

There would be a light to illuminate the heart
With peace and love that you’d never take apart

There would be inspiration beyond words
With originality expressed in the afterwards

There would be imagination glowing silently
On a breath of rich kindness, never violently

There would be memories of compassion and caring
Hope and faith that are beyond our comparing

There would be honesty and integrity brought to life
Relieving all worry, sorrow and even the strife

There would be miracles performed through prayer
Promises of God’s gifts so we will never despair

There would be pictures of the ones I’ve cherished
Guaranteeing my heart that they haven’t perished

There would be sights and sounds and amazing grace
Tenderness that comes from knowing His embrace

There would be peace like none I’ve ever known
Reassuring my soul that I won’t ever be alone

There would be an inner feeling of absolute wonder
More vibrant than lightening and louder than thunder

There would be the warmth of knowing God is here
There is no doubt I’m loved and have nothing to fear

There would be the love that brings hearts to pledge
Their lives for the purpose of sharpening truth’s edge

There would be the praise that fills up my soul
With worship and singing as His love does console

TIME PIECES

grandfather clock
time so easy to take apart
this child
with broken heart
couldn’t piece back together

that moment
she frowned and closed the door
i checked my watch
second hand stopped
gone forever more

summer vacation

hour hand
locked on 3:00 o’clock
minute hand
but a tick tock away
“tick tock” hooray!

in my closet
out of body out of mind
out of time
nor even strong wind
can rattle the door

Perhaps if we were to take apart grief as we unravel life
one single moment unstitched pulled out of time
we'd begin to see that death is only a silent passage
and we need not bear the loss alone,
The memories of our coverlet years of love
will drive us home *
Perchance, mayhap, we can take it by the hand like a seer,
"we were born to exist and disappear" said the Mysticeer
and I for one believe that death is the encoding of life;
The silver threads of Mercy are weaved inside God's blanket
big enough to warm each widow, grieving parent, and child
As long as we love well, while we are still here,
death cannot take away our loved ones, nor their time on earth.

Taking Beryl Apart

When I was a child ‘bout five to six I used to dream that this were me
I’d peel back frame from toys, take apart their guise to see what was beneath
I was ever so careful, every tiny pin, kept safe in a sealed plastic case
Just wanted to see, what a heart looked like, I was told I had my own.

My patients name was Beryl.
A gossip. I didn’t care for her spiteful chirped lies!
Her sideways remarks… and even less for that wondering eye
She followed my each and every move… felt just like papa in one of his moods

As I sliced ‘scalp from Beryl I mused, had she no brain!
How could that be? Why must you make me think of mother again!
Beryl’s chirp had now stopped she stared at me, eyes glazed
Yet I saw her cold eyes glint, had I gone too far?

Tears flooded my cheeks, smearing lines through built ‘grime
I’d only wanted to see her heart!
In shards my door smashed apart like cannons wreck
I didn’t know papa was home! I coiled my wasted skin and tired bones erect

‘It wasn’t your fault ‘nor mine but you’re just like me’
Ok muttered I… just wanted to see a heart!
He pointed to what he called a ‘circular MIL’ then said
‘That’s as close as you’ll get you dirty little flea!’

Then he said his last words… well, his last words to me
‘If you don’t fear me by now, you and the world were not meant to be!’
Then he grabbed me strong by my throat and shook me hard ‘till wires came free
My legs axles departed, left my body completely!

As I fell silent, t’was strange I caught a glimpse of myself
A dirty rigid specimen dissected on the floor
Wires stripped back to copper, ‘cept my copper were white
As I looked at both hearts… Beryl and me… I thought

They were the same!... White began clouding my sight
My heart may not have looked like Beryl’s… but we both just needed that spark.

Harsh words impugn if slung in hate
and rip apart a calloused heart.
Expressed regret cannot abate
the pain that permeates our slate.

It's best to stop and take apart
the wagon which has run amuck.
Affix new wheels upon the cart
then shove ahead to a fresh start.

Deep in the mire, our tires are stuck.
Pitch us a chain and yank them out,
and with a teeny grain of luck,
no one perceives our coat of muck.

For friendship wields a mighty clout,
true aid from friends will spread a path.
If fortune bleeds toward that route,
the winner's bell will ring throughout.

The Family

THE FAMILY

Still came the child in all her energy and essence,
her smell of nickel and pumpkin, of lavender and bay;
in little songs she's hummed, in her oh so gentle play.

A universe herself,
before she landed here;
in radiant lovely laughter and dropped inside a tear.

Then he came too, a baby bunting blue, strong with sinew
and happy in his plans, to dig and take apart;
to see inside and quiz, and instruct his earnest heart.

He came as daddy's hope,
with a dream inside his head;
he long created plans and the dream was always said.

Lady mother, to them both,
with soft and creamy skin;
and breath to breathe inside herself to give to her and him.

She married all in hope,
for the best of happy times;
and the joy that filled her eyes, she sung in blissful lilting rhymes.

Man daddy, rugged as rock
and quiet in his thought;
could always love them all, for the secret that they brought.

He found his life in her.
She found her life in him;
they laced in focus on their love and spirit kept within.

Different in their worlds
yet cozy in their minds;
that safe would be their life, since that's the tie that binds.

Looking up to God,
then seeing in each face;
their eyes are flecked with stardust, that came awhile from space.

A family in a dream,
too tiny to be seen;
to great to know it's process in the galaxies routine.

One of a Kind

One Of A Kind
By MEH3

The lady is beautiful
The woman is sweet
The girl is fine,
she is one of a kind.
I admire her drive
I love her walk
She has that sophisticated talk
that could blow one's mind
She has a motor like Ford
A body like a Benz
But something like a foreign engine Audi R8 you know
Meaning she is well put together
And tough to take apart
You have to be careful with her because
she is one of a kind.

Premium Member The Box

Where I live is in between
A memory and a dream
Walking a tightrope each day
I light my self on fire
And take a big box
And head down Main Street
The weasels in the front of Bill’s Cafe
Love it, spewing hate and spit
And laughing at me because they don’t know
What I know
I know the truth
The cold hard dark truth

Yes I have seen the burning bush
I have stood on the mountain
I have heard the words of Martin Luther King, Jr.
And I too have a dream
I have dream that one day a man
Will not have to live in a box on the streets of Bogota
The slums of Shanty Town will rise above the sewage
That the stench of death on the road to the Congo
Will rise over our heads and blow towards the lands of freedom

Once the west has felt and seen the pain our brothers are in
We shall as a people, as a nation, as a world rise up and crush the inequities of
Poverty and prejudice and cast off the yoke of oppression.
I see that day as clearly as I see the dream of the ancient God’s
They will crumble at our feet and we shall walk upon them as Jesus
Walked on water.

Come one, come all ye sinners for Jesus is a trick on the weak and faithful.
The men of the cloth need you to believe.
Don’t fear the truth because you will never know it.
Trust in me for I will save you.
Now how about a bit of money for your savior?
Kneel by the alter, supplication
Come boy help your Father

I need the box you see for it is my home
I live (if you call it that) on the streets
Of America’s home towns
I’m on the corner of your cities
The greenbelts of your suburbs
I am the coyote of humanity
And I am coming to take apart your lives
Limb by limb, bank account by bank account
Your debit cards and credit cards can’t buy my loyalty
I will disembowel your nuclear family
And leave you wishing that your Beamer
Wasn’t bloody red
I will wash the streets with your sin

And then I will go back and live in my box
Alone with my dream.

My Valentine

If I had never meet you
I wouldn’t know what true love meant
I didn't know the meaning of happiness
my lonely life was just content

Never knowing the magic of romance
And to hear some one say I love you
To me these were just illusions
A dream that will never come true

on some cold lonely nights
My only companion was bottles of wine
i would ask god if he made a girl for me?
To love and hold and call my valentine

And just when I was about to wake up
And accept that the hope of love is gone
And I was going to bury my heart
deep in the forest at the break of dawn

Then that same night under the full moon
We meet by chance and our hearts agree
I was looking for you all my life
And you was looking for me

God do have ways of working
And who god bless no one can take apart
He bring us both together
And planted love so deep in each others hearts

And the day you said yes to marry me
The heaven opens and the sun shines
For one of its angels are standing before me
As my wife and my lovely valentines

The beautiful sound of your voice
The way you smiles, the way you look at me
The curves and every details of your face
My love becomes deeper than big blue sea

And when you hug me in your arms
There’s nothing else in the worlds matter tonight
And all the stars in the skies shine on us
Making our future forever be so bright

To sleep and wake next to you every morning
Spending time in the kitchen cooking, baking cakes
And taking long drives with picnic baskets
Sitting a under a tree over looking the lakes

Going to the parks playing basket ball
Then having tofu for dinner with red wine
Telling each other I love you forever
My love, my life, my wife, my valentine

Waiting For You

U r not there in the lining on
my palms...
Nor do I see you in the fate
of my arms;
But your name is clearly
inscribed in the walls of my
heart...
Which no force on earth can
take apart!
Why don't u descend from
the domain of my dreams
& splash me all over with
your endearing streams
Melt into my life like a God's
grace
Break in my arms & end my
chase..
Now living alone is just like
dying..
& trust me,I'm tired of trying..
I will wait,however,till my final
breath
At least come to me in the
form of death...!

This Room

I like being alone
To find the comfort
That I'm not
This room knows me
The window knows
When to bring me light
This pillow
This piece of material
Has cushioned
Such tears
It holds my night

Together

A tossing of a head
A deep dark hole
When dreams
Piece together
And take apart
All that tears my soul

Who finds me weeping
At 2am
Then 3
Restless for my love
I am not alone
Fragility and despair
Always find a place to be

I Wish I Were Your Air

I wish I were your air
So that you couldn`t live
Without me. But I swear
You won`t die, you`ll breathe.

Please, come and break my heart…
It` s an obsession, dear.
I want to take apart
My head. Right now. Here.

I`ll be inside of you
Without any doubt.
I`ll be your guide and crew.
Your heaven and your ground.

Sacrifice Your Light For Me

I will take the static silence and replace it with many roars
I will take away the violence and heal away your sores,
Let me take away the anguish and replace it with many smiles
Let me truly vanquish the hurt of the many miles...

Let me take your heavy heart and fill it with all the joy
Let me take apart the things that can deluge & destroy,
Let me take your hardened hand and take it for a walk
Help me truly understand and let me be your rock...

Let me take your sorrows and replace them with a rose
To bring you new morrows’ with poetry to compose,
Let me take your shielded shadows and expose them to the sun
Let me take you to the meadows where you can start to run...

Let me take my lasting light and ignite your dark abyss
To seize the nefarious night and fill it with only bliss,
Let me take your salvaged soul and bring you to my home
Let me take you for a stroll where the angels rightly roam.
