In Memoriam (Che Guevara)

I
I woke up this morning with tears in my eyes,
your face was in the morning paper;
they shot you dead like a dog,
hunted you out all day and night.

                            II
They said you'd always been a bad seed
and youths were dying because of you;
they said you're a criminal on the run
with a dirty face and shaggy head.

                    (Refrain)
But I know you better than they do,
you preached love to all the people;
you fought for them, young and old,
you lit up their nights with your heart.

                            III
And now as I see you lying dead,
it seems my dreams have vanished as well;
they can call you names, any names they want,
but I know there's only one like you,
there's only one like you,
there's only one Che Guevara.
              (Repeat Refrain)

You lit up their nights with your heart,
you lit up their nights with your heart,
you lit up their nights with your heart.

Misty Morning

As light peeps through the silent trees
to touch the damp and mossy earth,
the birds pay homage to creation -
singing in sweet jubilation.

While a young fawn grazes peacefully
along the edge of the tranquil valley,
falls an early morning shower -
God in His gentle power.

It is a rain-drenched misty morning
as the dewdrop kisses the blossom;
it is another fresh beginning
as He rules each living thing.

How silent is the dark rain forest
but for beasts crying from the nest,
fishes splashing on crystal water,
wings fluttering above in the air.

Beneath the sky’s great canopy
is this lush garden that I see;
on this new morning that I greet
comes a renewal of my faith.

Hey…psst…wake up! I know it's still dark but will you come with me? Come on…

We tiptoe quietly through the sleeping house and slip our feet into flip-flops, and go out the back door.
We are in our backyard. A flat, grassy expanse that looks as fine and welcoming as the finest Persian rugs. Surrounding our little home in the mountains is nothing but trees and creeks…blessed nature.
Holding your hand because we are friends, we stand in the middle of this beauty in our pajamas and flip-flops and look up at the sky.

The hyper, flashing Morse-code of the stars are the first to dim, so tired from their all night attempt at communicating their heavenly delights.
The vast skies fade from blackest night to deep indigo hues, finally washing out to the palest blue gray of watercolors.
Just as we begin to distinguish the shapes of trees, the glow, surprising in its slow suddenness, we feel a lightness warming our hearts as well, banishing all fear and welcoming the sweet anticipation of a new day.

Then we hear a far away, “tweet, tweedle, tweet!”
This must be Mother bird, for she is always first to rise and sing!
She isn't alone for long…soon her family and friends awaken to sing to the Maker of the Summer Sunrise.

And this is their Sunrise song:

“Awake my fellows! Arise my friends!
For the Creator brings us the sun rise again!
No need to worry, no need to care,
if we'll have shelter or what the flowers wear. He hears our prayers, our songs and our cries…for after darkest night we know the sun will rise!
So don't fret,no, don't worry about what we will eat…
Just be thankful for all with this song we sing…tweet, tweet, tweedle, tweedle, tweet, tweet, tweet!”

Late Night Scene

Every word falls away in disgrace
When I try to describe the most perfect time in the dingiest place
None can hold a candle to the flame that guide us in
With time ticking till morning and we’re rewriting every story
To watch life pass was just not for us

Just another late night in this dive
Where the lost and broken sit
I guess you an I just fit
The broken dreamer comes with ruby red lips
And asks what she can get
Just coffee and cigarettes will do just fine
And help to past the time

Another endless conversation
Where pictures are painted with grand ambitions
And the hopes of dreamers just pulled from the sky
Tonight’s conversation is one sided and this pain has not subsided
the sun has risen and I’m sobering up
Only to realize this place is empty like my cup

I’ll be here when your better
With an open seat and dreams that won’t be beat
I’ll be here through morning and dawn
I’ll be here with a tear in each eye and still afraid to cry

My Last Night (Angel of Sadness)

I rose, I stood
It was a feeling somewhat good
I laughed, I talked
My forearms even looked
As if they contracted shaded chalk
My body, my shadow seemed to no longer stalk
These were the events I would present
The morning of my last night
Strange enough, I even toasted to breakfast
The humor in drowning in this lake last
You and me, together we’re going to make past
If I let go, then this song dies
And we become nothing more, than a repetition of tries
Ain’t it beautiful?
The things we grow to hate
We reach for in our final grasp
So soothing so cool
These are the things thought about
Mourning my last night
I shook hands
As if it were a normal day
I accepted the conclusion of a troubled man
I participated in a few random acts of kindness
I even cursed the face of a phantom in pure blindness
The things I accomplished
The morning of my last night

Just Blue

I awaken this morning down and
Blue,
My heart is blue and fragile,
Its killing the very core of my
Soul,
Draining all essence of life
From me...
Picturesque of blue...
My soul illuminated from the
The half moon..
Presenting silhouette of my soul
Optical illusions,
Realization I precede from my
Heart,
I am withering away….
My soul is like a ghost,
Neither here nor there, just
Faded into darkness that
Hatred brood..
Deception and deeds of
Malice...
I awaken this morning down and
Blue..
Such arrogance smug approach
Shutting me off from the light,
While virtually destroying my
Soul,
My soul crave serenity..…
With love that blooms in time
Of all season...
