Santa Monica Pier

Santa Monica Pier

I remember watching
the ocean roll on the shore,
wave after wave,
crashing down on the solid sand
and I idly staring back
wondering if the Atlantic was as blue.

I watched him light a candle
and move in the swaying light
from a bygone age.

The flame flickered, so fragile,
it leans and sways in the cold breeze

My burning love is the flame in the lamp
From antiquity--a pre-industrial artifact

An oil lamp of glass from Rome
Bronze from Carthage
A terra-cotta from Athens

He smiles at me
in a flicker of light and
knows all my past like a line from Virgil
A chronicle from Homer
An essay from Milton, a history of Herodotus

And me, ignorant,
knowing nothing of him
can only quote
from Ovid,
	Beowulf,
		Caedmon and Gilgamesh.

The flame descends,
From the nape of the lit candle,
and we are lying in darkness on a spring night.

Everything in history is forgotten
and yesterdays are not so many
	as night descends,
the lit moon cast in the glow
of the lamplight of our love.

Courtesy

I passed thru a green light while driving today
Only to have verbal abuse thrown my way.

It seems that for the gal in the car that was turning
I made her blood boil and words from her lips came burning.

She felt that she should have had the privilege of first to go
Even though that's not the "Rule of the Road".

So, she shot a vulgar remark to me from her mouth
Which I returned in kind while still going south.

I wouldn't have said it had she not gotten me mad
Then thinking it over, I felt very bad.

We were BOTH wrong to say what we did
But after it's said, you can't put on the lid.

There's so much of that going on today
"I needs to go first", that's what they say.

So instead of allowing someone else to go thru
They block an intersection as they often do.

I guess she thought I was doing it too
But my light was green and the cars moved on thru.

Its seems as if "Common Courtesy" is gone today
I really don't know what else to say.

Except that I took affront at her comment to me
Next time, I'll have to use more charity.

Giving of Myself Entirely

Giving of myself entirely
and making others happy
is my greatest wish,
no other passion is greater than this:
intensely feeilng it and sharing it.

Some have thrown stones at me without a solid reason,
and murmured wicked words filled with jealousy and hate,
not knowing that truth was my lighthouse not standing alone...
that one day would have shed light everywhere! My night
wasn't the darkest and my morning was the brightest!

I have seen again those malevolent eyes,
but those evils hearts didn't give me a chance to love them,
and reading their unloving thoughts I avoided them;
are they dead or alive, roaming the dark forest of their soul,
never seeking the warm light of another sunrise?

Giving of myself entirely
is a passion and a devotion;
my happiness echoes with gleeful emotion,
seeing them smile and laugh, shake hands
and congratulate themselves for their good fortunes.

If they thought as I think and loved as I love,
no unkindness would deprive anyone of giving of themselves;
so what's the cause of their malcontent? Hatred, selfishness or pride?
I've come to this shocking conclusion: self-love!
It's the huge cloud blocking our sun and making it really unbright!

I'd rather spend my days by myself than having untrue friends,
friendship should be that iron bar that no heat is ever able to melt;
understanding, forgiving and loving is the strongest allegiance
we could ever wish or dream of...then let your honesty be it!
Let's built tomorrow on trust, not self-gain, and love each other!

Diwali

Diwali

Dark conquered this earth once
There He came as a light
Dark is a symbol of sins but
The light is a ray of His grace
Dark empowers this land sometimes and
The light will rule for a long
It is the struggling and war between two
Dark and light in the world
Light is the ultimate winner in this world
To remember and to worship the lord
               in the glory of lights
Diwali comes every year
to give all prosperity to us
Inthis dawn
He comes to this earth as a ray of light
to perish all evil darkenss
Pray Him and bless,greet everyone
to acquire all wealth and peace to this land
I t is not only a belief to deny
It is a truth of Millions and billions of this land

Ravens Hour

As Raven walked upon the dead ground her eyes wondered.
She saw the graves of many humans, which were plundered.
Names so hard to see within the mist blending with the sky,
Then she reached the third one the inscription caught her eye.
Her beloveds grave before her, she was bewildered of why?
He was not of the dead, she searched her memory dry.
Raven kept walking, thoughts into mind, and feelings of heart.
Knowing now they were both part of the dead, what a start.
Suddenly she saw a shadow, coming closer, nowhere to run.
She stood bravely, though terrified, time was standing done.
As the shadow got closer her soul knew had no anger.
As the shadow came into sight her spirit lifted all danger.
Her beloved Ryan came to collect her for the voyage beyond.
Their love, caressed each heart, bolted their souls in bond.
Upon the horizon beyond the mist, a brilliant light addressed.
Raven and Ryan began their travel, spirits of two blessed.
Together they entered Heavens abode, not looking back.
Time had stopped for them both, their paths did not lack.
Belief in the forever, escaping the hourglass attack,
Rising into the light of golden bliss, leaving behind the black
