The Smoky Rose and the Angel
The smoky rose burns bright in the embers of my soul
From paradise to earth the angels fall softly
Wrapping their wings around me
They keep me hanging on
They keep me hanging on
I see the colors of heaven dancing like doves
And I...

Premium Member A Smoky Memory
Unable to sleep I remember-
My mind flashes back to many things;
Such wonderful gifts – our memory,
Salvation and life with all it brings

It is nighttime of long ago
Before electricity the coal oil lamp burns
Sitting up on the mantle that’s dressed
With a white embroidered skirt

Snuffed out when...

Smoky Moosh
I lived away in the Aussie bush,
grey Cat escaped a smoky moosh {face},
 he was eating Brown Snakes,
brought Rabbit for his Doggie mates,
 a smoky kind of Puss.

Puddys can be fierce hunters,
they usually jump 3 feet in the air,
 when a...

Premium Member All Black and Smoky
Long-winged smoky wisps curling up
Now drifting like wind driven clouds
Then swirling like cobwebby curtains
Screaming sirens outside the house
Circling about darkening the hamlets

Outside the room shrieking of sirens
Windows seemed miles away
As he came near the window
All he could see was acrid smoke
Devilish red flames burning...

Smoky Dreams ‘Neath Rainbow Rings

Oh, you are so cool,
opaquely bright,
clear prism shattering
true light

				And you
				red glowing sweat
				condensed containment
				flaming tears

Draw near to me
let me consume
your crystallized
angelic plume

				I dare not
				lest I extinguish
				the molten core
				of lava’s anguish

You fall into
a silent night

				You rise upon
				a roaring light

our lives
		but aimless
				wanderings

smoky dreams
			‘neath
					rainbow rings

Old Smoky Number 9
Poet: Ken Jordan  (Story)
Story: Old Smoky Number 9
Edited by: Sparkle Jordan
written: November/2012

There's a mystic breeze softly
flowing down a  dirt road not
far from where I live.  In a way,
it's very spiritual to see the
dust float up from the ground
in anticipation of...

Native of Smoky Mountains
The moon glows with its silver blue light
The light is like pearl shaped tears
In the curtain of night
Soul yearns with wild desire

In the mountains dew arises to the sky
It creates a pale mist
Beautiful but eerie is this scene
Almost supernatural is shadow ancient trees will cast

The...

Smoky Eyes
It's only the time,
That I come to mind,
When smoke gets in your eyes.

Then you come my way,
Taking time from your day,
To visit, and make someone smile.

When I look for you,
All I have to do,
Is look for that smoky design.

You probably don't know,
How my trust for...

Premium Member Smoky Beach Walk
A small wave beach,
Tiny shells of ages past,
Washing time again
To dry next day.

Fairy fires glow
In concrete rings,
A driftwood sizzles
As it sends smoke out.

An ants cliff rises
Above clam mounds
That bubble under water
As the lapping grows more frequent.
Then still rippling notes
Orchestrate the winds....

Premium Member those smoky eyes
J D Vance has such smoky, smoldering eyes, doesn’t he?
The way those baby blues coruscate, as if from the darkness.
Are those shadows natural? No, it’s eyeliner, of course, but on
a 40-year-old man it’s called guyliner.

Any teenage girl will tell you the kohl pencil is the...

Smoky Sunset
Smoky sunset over the plain
Is it time for a verse?
Your breaths caress my neck like rain
Will our goodbye be terse?

We're in a pandemic
Words that were once magic
Useless to lives tragic

I lose a bet
Smoky sunset

Smoke
Smoke
by Michael R. Burch

The hazy, smoke-filled skies of summer I remember well;
farewell was on my mind, and the thoughts that I can't tell
rang bells within (the din was in) my mind, and I can't say
if what we had was good or bad, or where it...

Premium Member Towards the Inevitable
Did you dance on
the porch this morning
avoiding the invisible
ice and the broken glass?
Could you see
through the smoky hat’s brim?
In your mind you climb clouds
like a resin rock wall
looking for a view
of a place beyond perplexity
Fingers squeeze
scraping the raincloud's face
Will...
