Best Shawn Poems

My Son, Shawn

My Son, Shawn (1967-1999)

He never calls
Doesn't write a letter
No longer praises songs I pen
His home is on Higher Ground now
He just visits now and then

Shawn, My Very Best Friend

One of my dreams finally came true,
The very first day that I met you
You were so nice from the start,
It showed you have a big heart
You've been a great best friend,
And I don't want it to ever end
You continually give good advice,
While always being really nice
You forever rush to defend,
With a caring ear to lend
And no matter how really deep,
All my secrets you always keep
You are a truer sister to me,
Than those in my own family
So this poem is just for you,
The very best friend I ever knew

Happy 40th Birthday,
Love You, Janjan 2010

When you enter the ring.
You make all the girls stand up and sing.
When you walk the halls.
They all climb the walls.
When they see you walk.
They all begin to flock.
Your long hair and cowboy hat.
Makes them all want you bad.
Your muscles and body build.
Makes them all drool against their will.
It’ll always be that way to the end.
Because you’re their hot legend the Heart Break Kid!

Premium Member Shawn had his Pick of Girls

Sinewy strong sturdy Seth had his pick of girls
I never date them, he said, if they have any curls.
He broke his own rule when he met my stepmother.
She had gorgeous curls like his youngest stepbrother

We never figured out why he broke his own rule
But handsome hunky Seth is nobody’s fool
He married up, married wise, wealthy and well
They are totally happy as far as we can ever tell

(My assigned topic: Pet)

You nuzzled your heart into my soul.
Tiny, cold nosed, and whimpering
Destiny intercepted.
You, God’s gift to lighten my life,
Could have been a junk-yard-dog.
Brave and ferocious like your mama.
Before you, days held no happenings.
Experience and friendships…ordinary –
When warm-furry you lay grunting in my arms,
Life became an adventure.
Instantly friends, we two, connected.
Barely three weeks old, life depended.
And love found me…not alone.
Lolloping beside me in parks,
My eyes sparked!
We two, running and playing
You grew.
Down the slide, through the trees,
Hunting sticks, fetching to please.
We moved across the country
And lived on a hill.
You could count to two or ten.
Find your shoe or just sit still.
You were my thrill.
And so it was until your future fell.
You seemed to be perfect
Until anguish played –
Death due to a rare blood disease
Weeks after surgery, your guts spilled.
Hanging on the ground
All covered with grit and grime
With a sheet wrapped around we sped.
I could not let them put you down.
Not without at least a chance.
Three days of cleansing and antibiotics.
Tears.
And we were lost.
You in paradise somewhere
And me stuck on earth without love, again.
In time, there were others…pets.
But none like you, my first.
So true
And forever –

Shawn Marie

My little girl, those big blue eyes,
Could melt the coldest heart.
And at the same time
Warm a heart that's true.
And with those eyes, I hope someday
You find someone,
Who loves you just as much
As I love you.
I wish for you, my little girl,
That days are always bright.
I pray that I can teach you
What is good and what is right.
I hope for you, my little girl
The best that life can bring.
I want to always see you smile,
To hear your laughter, hear you sing.
I want you to remember
That no matter what you do,
You'll always be my little girl,
And I'll always love you!

can't be mad at ya
cause we've come too far
you chose your life's path
shooting dope with no mask
you shoulda known
but you didn't care
like me drinking everywhere
but the fentynol got to you
trying to sneak into heaven
but heaven aint for the blues
it aint for people like me and you
I'll have a hole in my head but
I'll see you in purgatory at the end
you were my best friend
miss you so much aint fictional
but we will be between heaven n hell
how did we do so well
I'll see all the lost friends
and what nonsense can exist
in the abyss
I feel like I'm on the precipice
of a greater calling
but for now I'm stalling
for death's hand is still on me
soon we will all be free
from the bonds that be

Ride

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap

You're my sexy baby
Don't say maybe
The way you run your fingers up and down my side
makes me wanna ride
And I love to run my fingers in your curls of hair
I love to cuddle you, like a bear
I really love holding your hand
The castle we are building is so sturdy, since it's not in sand
Whether on the rooftop
or whether I just drop
into your lap
You know you've got my love flowing through me, on tap
You got me writing a rap

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap

With sexy dimples & a sexy sexy smile
Even with a devious air about you, I'm still feeling your style
You work it right, just like I need it, gotta say
Like I want it, like I crave it, bae
Night and day

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap

Sexy, sexy baby, with chestnut eyes, under that cap
I love when you pull me into your lap
