Best Satisfying Poems
Writing poems is always satisfying,
Even if hard or easy may be trying;
Sun or shade,
Will need aid,
And on you other poets I am relying.

Satisfying sounds like rain on a tin roof
Or a distant cadence striking the ear
Can calm the spirit and soothe the soul
Anticipating something clearly yet unseen
The purpose unknown raising expectations
Of pure enjoyment and simple pleasure
A good night's sleep or homecoming parade.

she has a lazy way about her
there is a droning that puts me almost to sleep
her steady buzzing brings my eyes to the monarch
sitting on the next marigold.
there is a peacefulness about her
she lulls me into a contented feeling
I watch her burrow into a burgundy hollyhock
They are both fuzzy
The hollyhock accepts her gladly
the droning is almost silent
I struggle to hear her
and am rewarded with a visit from a fairy
in the form of a tiny light blue butterfly
flitting and frolicking
it is more than enough to satisfy me

No Longer a Satisfying Symphony
When the piper plays the pipe,
Our hearts flutter,
At the sweet soft melody.
The piper all set up and tuned,
With his little snare drum
Begins to work his magic,
The piper plays,
Electrifying symphony of flavours,
His skills so magical.
The pleasant harmony produced
warms us up,
It reaches the depth of our souls.
The spontaneous rhythm
Spurs us to dance to the beat,
Possessing us profoundly.
But,it is not the piper
who dictates the tune,
It is he who pays the piper.
And most times,
He who pays the piper
dictates the tune of shame.
And we're all forced to listen
to the unsatisfying symphony of
a skilled and magical piper.
This time, when the piper plays the pipe,
Our hearts no longer flutter
but palpitate in disgust.
He who pays the piper
Dictates the tune,
That no longer satisfies.

A Poets Dream
A piece of paper, a pen to write
Waiting for that illuminating light
Searching our inward heart's core
Addiction's power of wanting more
Words now coming with fluent bliss
Pen on paper like that very first kiss
Overwhelming love to share this thrill
Words expression, the awe we feel
Thoughts entangled with senses aflair
Emotions aroused with passionate care
Oh that others would hear our plea
With a bursting thunder of words, we feed
Touching souls with this powerful stream
With our pin and paper, fulfilling a dream

I grabbed my steel machete and chopped off her head.
She is dead now, she is dead now, she is cement dead.
My first husband slept through it, I can hear him snore.
I got my boss, I can get you too, I say, my imagination full of gore.
My hazel eyes pop open and I realize I have done it again.
I kill my boss nightly, in my dream world, surely this is a sin.
But she deserves it, I think. My latest review was mean.
She is haughty and stuck up, fancies herself a queen.
During the day at work I pretend I like this arrogant woman a lot.
I fawn and grovel, pretending she is not Kansas City's biggest snot.
Today she was talking college words way above my head again.
I visualized myself cutting her measly throat, surely this is a sin.
Are you with me? She haughtily asked as she graphed.
I saw the ornamental sword on the wall and I laughed.
Seeing her head rolling around on the floor helped me a lot.
I cannot wait to see what I do in my dream tonight to the snot.

"It is quite possible to leave your home for a walk in the early morning air and return a different person - beguiled, enchanted."
~ Mary Ellen Chase
We enjoy the whistling wind as we walk,
The cool morning breeze calms and charms us,
A peacock is perched on a peepal tree,
Its fine feathers flowing fascinatingly,
Its sound of squawking seems sophisticated,
Like mystical music to its magnificent mate;
The butterscotch-orange ball blooms in the blue,
A snake slithers silently in the sewer nearby,
Songbirds tweet tantalizingly in the tall trees,
Vehicles plying on the highway are a vision to view,
Blushing bougainvilleas have blossomed in bunches,
Numerous neem trees line the narrow footpath,
A squirrel squeezes through a small, square hole,
And we uncover God's wonders as He unveils a new day.
