Thank you again, Jannie - you are a GEM, and a kind and encouraging person. I am a bit surprised that others would snub me because of my lack of form knowledge when it's supposed to be a place for growth and encouragement, but maybe it's my interpretation of it that's wrong ... either way I am very thankful for YOU. :-)

If I am seen here as "ignorant" by some because of my lack of knowledge of forms, so be it ... again, for me the JOY of poetry is in writing and reading and absorbing, and giving such weight to correct form squeezes the joy out of the process ... for ME, anyway. I think I should search for a place where my ignorance is not so obvious, lol, and the creative process is the concern.

Thank you so much for your help, my friend, you have been very kind to me, and I so appreciate your comments. You are one of the few people who took the time, and who is not caught up in the whole "form" thing. I should have read the rules here more closely, I think, and that's on me.

For me poetry is poetry, and it should be enjoyed - by the writer AND the reader - taking so much time to learn categories takes the joy out of it for me, so maybe I should leave the site ... I fear I am not adhering to policy, and I didn't realize the categorizing was such a big deal. It reminds me of "Dead Poets Society" and Dr. J. Evans Pritchard and his graph for rating "good poetry", lol.

But Limericks are 5 lines, and Haiku, as I've known it, is three lines of syllables, either 5,7,5 or 6,7,6 ... sadly I think I may be doomed here - I work for the royal family in UAE and have very little spare time - I just can not study the list of over 140 poetry forms every time I write or post a poem. I enjoy using what little spare time I have WRITING, and just can not commit to categorizing.
