Yellow Rhinoceros
I once saw a yellow rhinoceros
And everyone said, "That's preposterous!"
But soon they all went
Because of the scent
He'd farted and it smelled like phospherous!

A Rare Rhinoceros
Nothing seems so rare as a robust rhinoceros
Trying to point long nose into business like us
And incredible case in point never could prove
Because with big mouth he wanted to behoove.
He was rhinoceros always being the rowdiest
With his nose's point many things had missed
Then ended up raising a really big fuss
From scratching poor skin all full of psoriasis.
They never would ever leave him alone
Until his level had been low on testosterone
And rumors started to run amok and amiss
Monstrous mate he might have forgotten to kiss.

Hate to say this butttt
How about this one for
humorous Horn poem of the
day? Don't want to horn in
on anyone's business though.
Ho-ho-ho
Rhinoceros can not spell its name
African beasts aren't made that way
No pen or paper on the savanna green
3 big toes get in the way of nature
They squint
Can't see to write with so much sun
Dust kicking up when rhino charges
They prefer large drinks by water holes
And leave thinking for smaller smarter beings
Monkeys cry; Rhinos can't count their toes
They make fun of them and the thick skin they come in
Laughing at them for their inability to climb trees
According to their logic and their delicate inclinations
Natural selection and as representatives of the wild nation
Swinging on trees should be easy for all species
They think the beast have no reasoning along these lines
An appraisal too cumbersome for rhinos to surmise
Their toes are too large to tap on keyboards
Never taught how to use the computer too
Rhinoceros prefers the chase and being naked
A savage thing from poor breeding and upbringing
Killing people is their pleasure
No formal invitation needed
Taking aim at those who ask about pedigree
And ones who would bring up reading
Rhinoceros may not know how to spell or write its name
Does it matter anyway
Or who is about to go extinct
When it barrels down on you with lowered horn
No warning… Here comes the storm!
Stand clear!…. It's charging!
Can you spell rhinoceros while fleeing
I ride on Ryley Rhino
as down the river we go.
He knows things I want to know.
I said, “There’s a flashy fish!
Watch it swirl and swish!”
Ryley Rhino said, “I know.”
I said, “There’s a crocodile!
Look at its smug smile.”
Ryley Rhino said, “I know.”
I said, “There’s a sneaky snake!
I wonder if its name is Jake.”
Ryley Rhino said, “I know.”
"Ryley Rhino you're so smart,
I love you with all my heart!”
Ryley Rhino said, “I know.”
~The Rhinoceros That Roared~
The Wrinkled skin of the Rhinoceros
Steel hard, no man can penetrate
The young buck on the tourist bus
Thought if he killed one, his lovers heart he could take.
He wanted to be a macho man...
But he was just a spoilt rich boy
He took his souped up jeep out there
He roared the engine of his favorite toy.
The horn of the Rhino he wanted to win
To give to the girl he loved, as a prize
It is supposed to be an aphrodisiac
But he was in for a great big surprise.
He faced the Rhino in his souped up jeep
The Rhino looked bored, if one can, so to speak…
Pedal to the metal, head on towards the horn
The wheels spun, the earth showered, the Rhino looked forlorn.
The jeep roared at the Rhino, who opened his mouth up wide
Just as the souped up idiot hit-and he drove on right inside
The Rhino swallowed and walked away with a jaunty gate
The girl he lost, he disappeared, for them it was to late…
Tales are told in whispered voice still through out the land
They tell of a Rhino who does strange things when his temper is fanned
His eyes flash, his feet spin, a horn beeps, and more
Just don’t get in front of him, because you can hear an engine roar…

I would ride a rhinoceros for you
ride it to Timbuctoo
and bring you back
all the golden sand of the desert in a bottle
I would overcome an octopus for you
dive it to deepest Atlantis
gathering up
pearls, sapphires, coral and rubies in a shell
I would bridle the biggest eagle for you
fly it to the cheese-green moon
collecting
shooting stars and sunbeams in a fine feather basket
I would sing a silly song for you, or
write a pretty poem, a nonsensical novel,
a dictionary
of brand new words to describe the lexicon of you
Moving faster than Wonder Woman, I
would go around the world in seventy-nine days
saving a day just for you
(bringing it home, wrapped in spices of the orient)
I would - if you asked me to -
stay up all night for a year, repainting the stars;
leaving them in your room to dry,
just to light up your dreams with silver.

Love is message.
Love is word.
Love is unselfish.
My heart belongs to her.
