Rain shower
Zero hour
Sun burn
Heartburn..
The golden fiery eye rises
In the east and sets in the west
And shines for a day in between;
Although at times there may be clouds
That shrouds its penetrating rays
From us, we know its radiance
Is like a god that can’t be seen
But still feel his omnipresence.
And when the heavenly tears fall
From the sky, they are tears of joy
Not to be confused with sadness
For this god is a loving god
That showers all of us with love
Yes, even the nonbelievers.
Rain falls from heaven.
Behind the clouds the sun shines
Patiently in wait.
Rain is so wet and gloomy
It is a good day for a movie
Whenever you want to go out and play
It is always a rainy day
Sunshine is so bright and cheery
The hot weather always makes you tired and weary
The sunny days are the most happy ones
Because those are the days you have so much fun
But whether it is rain or shine
I know I will always have a good time

I step up to the green screen
In my tie and 5 piece suit
Here for you on the daily
My predictions absolute!
You can always count on me
To know how to prepare
Waiting for my forecast
So you know just what to wear
I know you might be angry
Because I told you there'd be sun
But how was I supposed to know
That a blizzard had begun?
And maybe there was one time
Where you questioned my potential
But sometimes an inch of rain
Turns out to be torrential
I told you there would be some wind
Before you lost all power
Technically I wasn't wrong
It was just 100 miles per hour
I do my best by mother nature
But she can be quite fickle
Shift your blame over to her
If you're in a weather pickle
So keep your trust in me
and I'll keep you in the know
Even if you end up in shorts
In a cool five feet of snow :)

So hot
So humid
But moan I must not
For this our summer
We’ve waited all year
and now it’s arrived
moans are all that I hear
We moan if it rains
and if it’s too hot
We moan when the wind blows
or when it does not
We talk of the weather
way into the night
For whatever the weather
there’s someone who might
enjoy it
or loath it
but one things
for sure
there’s no other subject ~ that’s talked about more

FIRST PLACE
cloudy day
brings no gloom
for you are near
your face my silver lining
framed in glitter
from my heart
our time apart
fueling our desires
until we meet
till our bodies unite
in the fluorescent light
and you saturate
my parched soil
with long awaited rain
quenching my thirst
with each droplet
The rain, it comes so fast this morn
I must close windows tight
To keep the water out for now
That gives me such a fright
But if you stand outside my house
Seeking shelter from the storm
I’ll open up my windows, dear
To make you free from harm
I’ll be your love giver
What you need from me
I’ll be your one provider
That, I hope you see
I’ll be your main supporter
Through your trying days
I’ll be all you want
For you are all I need
If the rain then pours thicker still
And my house falls far from view
I’ll leave my windows open
Just for only you
I’ll risk then all the damage
I do not really care
For I can’t go on ever happy
If you are still out there

The walking tour said “Rain or Shine;”
We booked it nonetheless,
Although in pouring rain, I won’t
Be happy, I confess.
The sky looks quite foreboding,
Plus there’s thunder and we heard
On TV, tornado warnings,
Not the weather I’d preferred.
Right now the rain’s still falling,
But it’s lessening a bit.
In my younger days, I’d head on out,
Not caring but a whit.
But my spouse and I both feel the same -
If it’s more than a drizzle,
We’ll catch the tour group later
Or we’ll let the plans just fizzle.

At Vacation Bible School
Vacation time was a blast, on a bus for rent
Bible in hand we entered the small tent
School was out and we were content
Jordan and I had wild crazy intent
Vacation with other kids was fun
Bible set in place, we had nowhere to run
School of parables beneath a hot sun
Jordan and I couldn't be undone
Vacation came and went I left for colledge
Bible in hand I chose the path of knowledge
School was not for Jordan he didn't have th edge
Jordan chose a trade but at eighteen he took a pledge
Vacations of the past were fun so he returned to school
Bible in hand he taught them how to read with cool
School was out and the boy was no fool
Jordan went and found Gina who knew the rule
Together they had babies and stayed in love for a lifetime
taking their little ones to church every Sunday, rain or shine !
