Best Predicaments Poems

Rhythm I

Old ideas, more like character defects--
no way to pay bills or get paychecks.
Mind-aching explosion,
put up the road blocks,
ticking like a time bomb or a grandfather clock.
Time's up, make a decision,
something you can live with--
space just to breathe and enough room to pivot.
Exquisite provisions--
invaded by religion.
Predicaments that can change one's whole way of livin'.
Conditions,
they can make you
or absolutely break you.
Be wise with the lifestyle and morals that you take to.
Make haste not to
delay the truth inside the prelude
and maybe one day you
will finally have a breakthrough.

Premium Member Old Year New Year

Dragging his feet with exhaustion,
On the unending path of time,
The wise old year, the gates of
Oblivion approaches,
His face glowing
His heart pounding for joy
His soul in rapture
Because
In a few moments, able will he be,
The heavy load of humanity’s predicaments
Upon
The eager shoulders, of the ignorant New Year,
To, finally, lay!

I Dreamt It All

I know that I shall meet a pretty someone
	Somewhere in the shops across the mall;
Those that I date now I do not love at all,
	The lips that I kiss now I do it all for fun;
My life is driven by dreams and fate,
My love life is without honesty or sate,
But no part of you could understand me well
Or know what I feel or know where I dwell.
Nor guilt, nor situation oblige me to lie,
Nor predicaments, bade me to sigh,
A lonesome soul bereft of delight –
	I, who sleeps alone, by the night;
I dreamt it all: the woman, the date, and the day,
The months to come will demise my solitude away
Because all that I dreamt is all that I sought,
There shall be no more cries nor any ugly thought.

Keep Smiling All the Time

Keep smiling all the time !!!

Trials and troubles and despairs are unavoidable
Until one sleeps in the cold embrace of a quiet cellar
Never mind the tribulations that continue returning
Don't lay down your arms while smiling all the time.

It is in the nature of life, problems keep on haunting
Never ever get jammed by setbacks that keep visiting
Stand up firm and face the predicaments squarely
Maintain your while smiling all the time.

The distress may be physical or psychological
Afflicting the physical entity or the mental
Bear the hurt calmly for nothing is permanent
Gird up your loins while smiling all the time.

Not to lose sleep and protest the state of affairs
Let things and events happen at their own pace
For there shall be light at the end of the tunnel
So continue the march while smiling all the time.

Life is factual and not be taken inconsiderately
It is to be lived with joy and cheer constantly
Facing all agitations or tensions optimistically
Clutch the Lord tightly while smiling all the time.

Premium Member Blessed Tribal Culture

Blessed by God as a full-blooded Filipina
I’m endowed with great cultural heritage of Asia
Distinctively that of the Benguet “Kankana-ey” tribe of the Cordillera
Enriching my country, the Philippines, of her unique role in the global agenda.

Grateful am I to the Lord for my tribe’s awareness of the Deity
Shown by my forefathers’ acknowledgment of the Supreme Being’s authority
Thru their festivities and rituals revealing their trust in the God Almighty…
Igniting my faith toward genuine Christianity and biblical spirituality.

I salute my tribe mates for their respect to creation and steadfast preservation of nature
Affirmed by their diligent gardening and productive, yet prudent farming venture
Making them stalwart guardians of their environment, their bounty-pasture
While invoking the Divine Providence against calamities thru sincere offerings’ gesture.

Gladness* couples my appreciation to our tribe’s close family ties and intimate engagements
During bonding moments over cups of coffee and meals along conversation merriments
Especially in clans’ get-together for weddings and feastings’ enjoyments
Aside from reunions in funerals filled with reminiscences of varied sentiments and predicaments.

My tribe with its peculiar culture is commendable indeed
Steadfastly strong in its identity of tenacious influential creed
As it welcomes changes of betterment and prosperity’s seed
Midst technological development toward progress-breed!

*Psalm 4:7 Thou (LORD) hast put gladness in my heart...

Her Name Is Poverty

She tells me,
Of the belt of hunger that clings to her waist,
Of how it's only ever loosened by rampaging and rummaging through waste.

She tells me,
How her journey through payments, predicaments and pavements make her tire,
How her cracked feet and wracked heart are passed by Tyre after Tyre.

She tells me,
About the intricate diagnoses and prognoses that riddle her every fiber, vessel and vein,
About the cardboard pleas and pleads that have all been in vain.

She tells me,
That this is the existence her weeping womb has bred,
That her hope for her successors is that they may succeed her in the fight for bread.

She tells me,
Her name is poverty.
Do you remember her?

New York City - Vicious Cycle

Pushed to the edge by reality, yes, these verses will stifle.

A revolving door always present; New York City....Vicious Cycle.

This is a poem about the hardships, and monotony of this age

The world unchanging in its essence....many problems to assuage.

Why is our purlieu in such predicaments, the morass so intense?

It seems the fire has been extinguished; in other words we've acquiesced.

Hallways, alleys, subway stations/where the weak and troubled roam.

Considered dross by our society, that's why the streets became their home.

Our youth in dire straits, how can they be redeemed?

High school dropouts, teenage suicide, and for meth my brothers fiend.

Homeless people are anathema; we seldom love the poor…

New York City...Vicious Cycle....where daily living is abhorred.

A nimbus cloud, can't see the acme/ Where Then Can Love Be Found?

The cacophony breaks the silence; the voice of weeping does resound.

Welfare parents in a quandary, just barely scraping by.

Elderly people doing no better...though receiving S.S.I.

New York City....Vicious Cycle, spreading like a deadly cancer.

Minority children disenfranchised; drug dealing is their answer.

Boys and girls, young and pretty/ jailbait, nowhere to run.

A perfect target for a pedophile; their tender lives have just begun.

Dark specters in every borough; people lost and living trifle.

Eight million stories, naked truth...New York City...Vicious Cycle.

Almost Died

I do not know how and I do not know why - why you did this to me
You left without a word-you left me in wonders, wondering why
You left beautiful memories- yet should I regret meeting you
You left, yet you said our love is laughter, lighter and life -but I lost your lead
You left your love in my heart - longing for your touch and your taste
Oh darling my heart longing for you, I almost died just for you

I do not have money and I do not have a car-but I know I loved you
I do not understand why and I cannot see how, hoping to see you soon
I do not know how and I do not know why-when something is leaving
You cannot see it, I feel like laughing but I started to cry, hilarious
I do not appreciate or apprehend the pain partnering my past-predicaments
Oh darling my heart longing for you, I almost died just for you

I wish all we had, was but a dream, why should love hurt so much
I wish all people could not just fall in love, but I stay in love with much patience
I wish all vows made and promises uttered, were met to be, oh my love it hurts
I wish all the kisses and touch we had were just in psychic – just hallucinations
I wish all you say and do were in coheres-it hurts that your beauty is not in truth
Oh darling my heart longing for you, I almost died just for you

I left all my playboy games, because I believed in the truth of your love
I left all, for you left all for me, you stood rejection from your family for us
I lefts all my fears and tears at the mountain-where my help comes from
I left all your fears in faith that the Lord is keeping safe in his presence
It was a blessing to have you for a while in my arms-my life has turn around
Oh darling my heart longing for you, I almost died just for you

I put my word in the air for you – the truth is you are beautiful-beautiful
I write my word in the sky for you-the truth is you are a woman of virtue
I put my life on line for you-the truth is you are a great wife to be-proverb 31
I put my light in the dark for you-the truth is you are a diamond, very precious
Though you left, you taught me great lessons and left me a better man - exquisite
He who finds you, finds a wife and receives favor from the Lord, always love you
Oh darling my heart longing for you, I almost died just for you

Premium Member The English Language Ain'T Easy

If you think the English language is easy to speak,
Perhaps you have a thing, or two, to learn.
You might say “axed” when you mean “asked”
When is it appropriate to say “dang,” “darn,” or “durn?”

“Advice” or “advise,” ”accept” or “except,” --a curse
Tempted to use “illicit” when you mean “elicit?”
Misusing “averse” when you mean “adverse?”
If you are not careful, you will completely botch it.

“Farther” and “further” are especially difficult:
One describes distance, the other quantity, or degree,
“Hanged” or “hung” present similar predicaments,
In both cases one word should do, but don’t “axe” me.

Who knew “ingenious” and “ingenuous” aren’t the same,
And few folks get “nauseous” and “nauseated” right.
Do you have “relatives” or “relations” or “relationships?”
If you want to quote an authority, do you use “site” or “cite”?

What is the difference between “already” and “all ready?”
Which one is correct “could care less” or “couldn’t care less?
Not to mention when you use “altogether” or “all together,”
Is it “there’s” “theirs,” “they’re”, its or it’s --what a mess!

“Continual” or “continuous,” and “fewer” or “less,”
“Conscience” and “conscious” lead some folks astray.
Are you “enthused” or “enthusiastic,” “infer” or “imply?
I hesitate to bring up the inevitable “can” or “may!”

So, “them” or “those” foreigners should learn "our tongue;"
It’ll make life simpler, “to,” “two” or “too,” for everyone.
“Who” or “whom?” -- please, let’s give these folks a break
Because English is not so easy, when all is said and done!

The 123 Call

THE 123 CALL

In 123 the political class call,
First we run to be quenched with wishes of lies,
Second we swear not to be swirled again with lie ties,
Third our predicaments push us to say g’bye to our ties and buy ‘their’ lies,

In 123 the young youths are shot dead,
First they are shot for empty stomach and lack of education,
Second they rob their life’s bcoz of false promises that ignites provocation,
Third the bullets harness them because of their desire for revolution,

In 123 the society is craving for hunger,
First the hunger caused by the greedy political leaders,
Second they reap rich as anger of hunger writhe us like ladders,
Third we beg and crave to be eased from this suffocation of hunger,

So stand up, in 123 to….
First search a resourceful water source of truth to quench our wishes,
Second to abide by the stall of our pledges,
Third to find solution for our predicaments, not to be bought again but say g’bye to poor leadership,

Stand up, in 123 to….
First stop the bullets penetrating through our bones and get education,
Second to stop robbing our neighbours and steal knowledge to provoke ignorant leaders,
Third to bullet the desires of our demands in sober revolution,

Stand up, in 123 to….
First feed out the greedy political leaders,
Second to let not anger of hunger read us out as letters,
Third to stop begging for solution to stop this suffocation
‘coz the greatest power that they are afraid of,
Is the power of elite of the youths?
In 123, stand up……..

Baskin Robbins

I'm about to have a toe curling moment
 thought you'd be interested.
Laid up in bed in inverted positions
so pillows muffle affirmative actions.
Any idea what any of this means?
Should I add a little devil in the details?
Make it hot as hell, wet like a church member
who always says "well."
Girl, I know I've been changed.
Elevated on this  going down skill set,
I love asking if you've had lunch yet.
Heard I am what I eat which means I must be you
cause you sustain me boo with the things you do.
The way you hold it down and stick around makes
me wanna hustle for you. My number one fan.
Feel it rising, slowing so it surprises us with an unforgettable
my, my, my, stains on red dresses
 might as well stay undressing.
And like the champ you are, you put your mouth where
the money is and start counting my Benjamins.
Got me screaming in pillows thinking bout you.
Love you times three. For the things you do,
those I do for you; and the predicaments
you place my mind in.
Inverted experiences on elevated levels
"ah damn" wonder if this makes you want to
have birthday celebrations every Sunday?
Your lips all over my chocolate cream
I'll give you 31 flavors and the sweetest
of dreams.

Step Forward and Choose Life

I've grown tired of feeling dead and of making the wrong choices
so I've decided to choose life and to take heed of the heavenly voices
I've made so many decisions that were spiritually wrong
for I did not take them before the altar of God where they first belonged

God wants us to choose life and to live our lives in the blessing
and desires that we have an existence that is free of anxious stressing
to think right, to eat right and to do what's godly in mind
to love one another, to respect each other and be a reflection of God's kind
to make the right choices in order to determine one's life course
to do what is necessary to continue one's life force
to making the right decisions that will leave a lasting legacy
to making the right choices that will insure man's continuity
to look beyond one's self and towards the future generation
to choose life and not death for all of creation

Jesus said "step forth" to that man with the withered hand
and then He asked the crowd of on-lookers of His actions "did they understand?
He wanted to know if they were accepting of what He was about to do
If it was more godly to choose life and not man's laws in full view
a critical moment awaited, a decision needed to be defined
to choose life over death He wanted to know what was on their mind

God wants us to step forward and choose life in our finances, fitness and faith
God wants us to be healed in every aspect of living that we undertake
to stretch out our hands to Him in faith whenever He does call
to trust that He will lift us up by His grace if we should fall
to step forward with a desire to be more healthy and physically fit
to choose life and have discipline with our bodies and our spirits
to step forward and believe that He will preside over our financial predicaments
and trusting in Him to provide by tithing to Him our ten percent
to step forward and make the right choice by choosing life
to step forward and stretch out our hands to be healed by Jesus the Christ

Premium Member Angels and the Rain

Once upon a time, the angels,

Having witnessed the predicaments of Man,

So moved were that their fluffy wings together joined

Overcasting the whole sky, and started crying

For

Humanity’s wounds to cleanse wished and

Alleviate its pain

Since then

Each time a prayer the angels hear, asking them

The aches of humanity to ease, their tears let fall upon

Earth, as RAIN!

Premium Member Political Incorrectness

The politically correct nonsense of today is so very absurd!
The language of my native land has become so terribly blurred,
By those who devote themselves to concocting such inane idiom.
Such prattle is as puzzling to me as is the element of iridium!

Now, it's chic to refer to postmen and befuddled college freshmen,
As postpersons and freshpersons whether they be woman or man!
Even folks with sticky fingers are given a title deemed more proper:
A shoplifter is delicately called a "non-traditional shopper!"

The wino in the gutter and the falling-down drunken driver,
Are each tenderly referred to as a "substance abuse survivor!"
Even the Father of Creation is no longer referred to as "He".
Monikers like "Daddy", "She" and "A Being" were created by the laity!

The so-called social engineers want to sink without a trace,
Cheery "Merry Christmas" with ill-chosen greetings in its place!
After all, 'tis Christ's glorious birth that we commemorate,'
Not the winter soltice or some pagan rite to perpetuate!

Seems 'tis normal nowadays to blame everyone but one's self,
For problems and predicaments in which one finds himself.
I could go on ad infinitum on this topic but space won't allow,
But I reckon the reader will have perceived how I feel by now!

The Shepherd One

THE SHEPHERD ONE

I praise the Almighty One
For giving me the Shepherd One
To guide me on my everyday missions
And deliver me from my omissions

Day by day comes with a new challenge
But with your words of wisdom
It is both an inspiration and a challenge
To keep my faith, and to follow the Almighty One

Oh Sweet Loving Father
How divine are your words
So steadfast to hear
It is cuddled by the whole world

My encounter with the Shepherd One
Was very meaningful and vestige
Rich and poor was in communion as one
Cipher was privileged

Undeterred by the predicaments
Young and old endured
To submit the vow to the sacrament
And to show the love beyond measure

No wonder
There is only one
That is You Holy Father
Is to be Called the Shepherd One
