My prankster, older son, came home from college, just the other day.
He saw such great possibilities, in how, he, with the Trolls, could play.
Now, you must remember, my son, has always been, a tad bit wild.
But, he truly is a charmer, when he has a new brainchild, compiled.

The Postman had been so Leary of dropping off mail, with the Trolls about.
So daily, I would greet him, explaining, they were really harmless, big old louts.
And I complained a little, of the time spent, to convince him, back at the house.
So my son took up the cause, yes, he was actually going to try to help me out.

Each day, he got the mail, I was so proud that he was trying to solve my plight.
He said he had an idea, which he would try, the last day in town, to set it right.
Of course, I believed him, he was my son, and I felt such pride, as he drove away.
Then I waited for the surprise, he’d set with the Trolls, to make everything OK.

The postman made his rounds, as usual, until he came toward our house.
Then he shot off like a rocket, which was truly outward bound… the louse.
So I ran out to catch him, for in his hurry, he’d forgotten to drop off my mail…
But he was so fast that I missed him… so back to the house I did sail…

In front of the garage… sat 3 Trolls in bib overalls in their rocking chairs.
Across their laps lay shotguns, yes, the really heavily gauged ones…
And there before my eyes were crickets playing banjos all around…
With ‘Deliverance’, the song they’d used, to make that mailman bound…

But don’t worry; I got even with my prankster son… To end this tale…
The next time he ask for money… I said… the check is… in the mail.

The Postman

The postman comes once a day
     Leaving rubbish on the floor
All piled up by the door.
Then the dustman comes down the lane
And takes it all away again!

Oh Mr Postman

Oh Mr. Postman,
Where have you gone?
Oh Mr. Postman,
Wake up its dawn.
You vanished without a trace, you didn't even leave a trail.
Should I send a message in a bottle or just an "E-Mail"!!!?

Oh Mr. Postman,
What happened to you?
Oh Mr. Postman,
You are all but over & that's the truth.
Life for you must now be hard, with no postcards or parcels to collect.
What have they done with you, are you caught in a web they call "The Internet"!!!?

Oh Mr. Postman,
Are you still alive?
Oh Mr. Postman,
There's no mail and it's half past five.
I have my doubt if you will ever come back again, to deliver my telegrams and letter.
I want see you just once again, or someday will we meet on "Face-book" or "Twitter"!!!?

Oh Mr. Postman,
Have we lost you to technology?
Oh Mr. Postman,
Please accept my apology.
I am waiting to hear what you have to say, now that gone are the stamps, paper, pen
and ink.
This is no dream, a harsh reality, What was, What is, What will be. Just think!!!!

Oh Mr. Postman,
Why did the technocrats bring about change ?
Oh Mr. Postman,
This cyber revolution has got me deranged.
I would draw my screen and look out of the window, just waiting to hear your bicycle ring
Now I look into a screen with windows, trying to figure out this "Inbox" thing!!!

Oh Mr. Postman,
Welcome to the new era!!!
Oh Mr. Postman,
I hope it treats you well
In your uniform on days hot, cold or warm, you have served people both high and low
What will you do now, do you have a plan? I will never know, Will I never know?

Waiting For the Postman

Waiting for the Postman

Florrie stands at the garden gate,
How much longer must she wait?
The Postman was due ages ago
What will he bring today for Flo

Junk mail or a pile of bills
Or a letter from her daughter Jill
Maybe a seed catalogue
Or a letter requesting she sponsor a dog

An offer of a new bank card
Or book-club offers of works by the Bard
Or a parcel from her sister Sally
Now living in the Rhonda Valley

A letter about changing her energy supplier
They promise her a cheaper deal
Then the bills are higher
A spring catalogue from Ann Summers
Or a free sheet advertising plumbers

Oh postman, what is keeping you?
Florrie has better things to do
Than wait and wait and wait and wait
Shivering at the garden gate

The Postman

I am going to marry the postman

As soon as his wife runs away.

It might be tomorrow

What bliss and what horror.

But it certainly won't be today

I think I shall keep my own name

Despite what the postman might say.

For I've got so used to this

My history's suffused with it.

Post me a prayer for today

She Married a Postman

She married
a postman
a good man
who comes
and goes
with good news
and bad
wedding invitations
and funerals
hiring letters
and pink slips
lottery winners
and eviction notices
my dog hates him
barks nonstop when he turns
the corner
and i keep saying
stop it
hate the message sender
not the messenger
this guy
is a good man
that's why she married him
not because he's a genius
all he does
going from point A
to point B
things in this world
don't work like this
big head
too smart
she married him
because of the
big heart...

Don'T Bite the Postman

Don't bite the Postman

Please don't bite the Postman,
With those yellowing canine teeth.
He only wants to deliver our mail,
Not feel your sharp nip beneath.

We've known him now, all these years,
So, shower with kisses and smother,
He only wants to deliver the mail,
Please don't bite him Mother.

On a remote Mediterranean village
there along the lovely Italian coast
was a simple young postman
looking for love for in to boast

Mario was his name, got a new job
delivers the mail up so very high
Pablo Neruda, a well known poet
who lived where Mario climbed to the sky

An attractive girl called Beatrice
worked in the cafe right way downtown
as soon they met love was in the air
but Mario so shy, causes such a frown

Pablo helped his young post-friend
to write a lover's poem for his love
so this Mario gave to lovely Beatrice
this so encaptured her like a glove

This young couple then got married
but Pablo then moved to Chile, his home
never forgetting his friendship with Mario
who was to know tragedy due to a poem

Beatrice became pregnant and had a boy
but before having him tragedy struck
Mario took a poem to read in Naples
at a political rally in which police broke up

Pablo on holiday came back to the village
but found no Mario, just Beatrice, and her son
Mario had sadly died at the Naples rally
so sad when heard what the police had done

This is such a lovely movie
so romantic and filled with prose
sadness enters to make it bitter
but reminds you of a romance-filled rose

(This is about a lovely romantic sad poetic Italian movie set in Italy made in 1994, it's has English subtitles and is available on YouTube, it's highly recommended.)

His Ailment

My next-door man was a postman
He stunted gimmicks like Tarzan
I met a constable
And told him my trouble
He said, “I can’t treat your ailment”.

The Vampire Postman

He only worked the night shift
The other shifts he was cut adrift
As soon as the sun went down
You could see him prowling the town

In his post office van he picked up the letters
And on the colder nights for the better
He wore a cloak in a flourish around
When he stepped out of truck to the letters bound

His cloak he held it high up to his arm
And he looked above the elbow to project alarm
Gliding over the ground to the letter box
With one foul swoop he emptied the lot

They could never give him a partner
Because they never made it to the shift's end after
He had no next of kin listed on his permanent file
And when off duty he hung from the basement tiles.

Premium Member Keep Him Posted

He left her alone went to work daily,
he worked as a clerk at the old bailey,
but he was gay and loved his boss,
and he did not give her a toss,
cheated on her to carry on gayly!

She knew husband did not love her at all,
she waited for handsome postman to call,
she greeted her love at the door,
she made love to him on the floor,
then several encores in great big hall!

Morning Mr. Postman
Do your thing in bringing my mail
You do with care and without fail
Sometimes mail I need to respond
You always follow through
It’s a daily routine to pursue
You are the king of the neighborhood
You offer candy treats to the kids
They see you like a dad
You one happy Lad
You are true to your responsibility
You show the USPS reality
No matter the weather
You get the mail through
Mr. Postman, you have become the neighborhood’s friend
That’s no pretend
Until then, I will talk to you again.

Premium Member LIFE OF A POSTMAN

Starts with the morning rise
Breakfast to energize
Head straight to the Post Office
The day begins with sorting the mail
Daily without fail
Preparing to deliver
The creed being neither rain, snow nor sleet
A Postman documentation to keep
No matter what, the mail is always a proceed
Eyes on residence and business
Everyday being the postman’s witness
Mailbox leverage
Mail and packages
Delivery precise
Chased by dogs
Working even in outdoor fog
Day in and out
Deliver mail until done
This is the Postman sound
Back to the Post Office bound
Days end
Same routine the next day once again.
