I trace the blushing texture
of smoked allure
 with aching fingers,
fervent and blue ~
inhaling the intense incense,
       exhaling the iron thorn
of love sabotaged
for I feel your hands ferociously
roaming my flawed frames
eager to taste the fragments
of the sunrise you seek
in hues of hostile gold...
while the tales within
   your eyes reveal
   the truth of my tongue
           twirling and teasing
   colors of confession
and amethyst reveries
stroking the weight of want
in soft butterfly ink blooms
kissing your fears
          into fluorescence
bringing your armored spirit
to kneel at the altar of attachment,
glued to the crimson of craving,
as an inamorato trembling ~
struck by the fever of fixation...

there is no escape, O beloved
            from this inexcusable
   intoxication of passion ablaze...
longing has no logic to philosophize
     and you are now sitting
imprisoned as an impassioned
Antony’s portraitist
       upon Cleopatra’s pedestal
wedded to the edges of infinity ~

a torn canvas is two paintings
oblivious to the galleries of grief
as healing hums through walls
that feel the melodious mists
falling like rain of rippling roses
     pulling and pushing nevermore
but soaked in the dews
of quivering seconds
    tuning time through heartbeats...

we are dreamers of what would be
if the acrylic carves wounds
into an ineffable masterpiece
the dawn never asked for more than
           a constellation
untouched and unmoved by doubt
the sun never questioned
        the sands of sorrow
so melt these tears
              into your sweet fire ~
   breathe my demons
               into your warm sky
release all resistance
you are no longer trapped, but free
in the arms of undeniable moonlight
engrossed in the perfumed spell
                 of wild heat ~
there is no threat in deep devotion;
love blossoms
as a sketched sanctuary
         of softened colors and trust…

Victoria Is My Muse

Victoria is my muse, I can't get her off of my mind
Refreshed by a vivid elegance with sun glowing golden hair
She is like no other, enchanting my mortal mind
A wonder if she is softer than the finest veil
Love and lust winging in my heart
Purloining the sweetest breath within me
She has the aptitude to be one's manna and leaven
Unknowingly having a desirous presence
As I become the passionate one
Formulating a scripture of my romantic heart
She can be the luminescence of a drab morning
Refining a brighter dawning
She is like a aubade
Victoria is my muse
Like an astronomer gazing upon astral stardust and divine dark matter
Like a portraitist illustrating a blissful scenery
Constantly dreaming of a mere taste of her kiss
To be in a state where I can immerse in her light
Feeling her compassion flowing through me
Embracing the heavenly anatomy that I fantasize
To be in harmony with the gift of a precious love
Dreams like these cradle me in my sleep
But once awake a feeling of dissatisfaction unravels
Desires of burning can not deliver me from yearning
Whilst time can't stop the curiosity that has been built inside
Wanting her love, compassion, devotion, time, and ardor
Victoria is my muse

a portraitist in his day
Intense observation at its best
his painters eyes never at rest

The Portraitist

across there in cold light
gazing to the passing scenes
sometimes a glance back, then
and see that I’m still staring

a striking mask, your thunderous youth
that sharp ridge of a Roman nose, so narrow
deeply fixed emerald and golden-rimmed
eyes of a shepherd at the wing
light upon an ovular range of beautiful planes
where fine skin on signatures raised
is colored the same soft red
aloft in the morning sun
and how the curve of your brow
slips to a gaunt cheek lifting
love in the stoop of those lips
cradling crescent shapes of a jaw
flexed for greatness

filing away each of your features
to a safe place inside
where a figurine of grace
will wait to be painted

Portraitist

... a self-portraitist

    he's the model, the artist

it's him last, him first ...
