Best Penalized Poems
When I was born, who would have thought
I’d grow up to be ruled by a clock.
Clocks mock dreams while hours gawk -
clicking off our minutes, letting seconds go - -
Did I turn the coffee and iron off,
remember drops for my cough ...
oh, I don’t know, darn traffic is slow.
Kindly push your pedal and go – go,
come on now! We need to roll.
If I am late, I’ll get penalized so.
Got to chew fast and ignore my dog's wag.
If I dawdle, someone will get mad.
So much to deal with, rules, rules and more,
so much crap I cannot ignore.
Are there more points for being on time
than for completing work that is prime?
I want to shout for upper brass
to remove their clock from my a*s.
There’s a complete person who I am,
yet my wants get the work week cram.
Job clocks are feeling-lame, greedy-aimed
and make my life a punctual strain ...

Lyric
You Fall ...
the ground of your reality dissolves in this
stream of distraction, this inconvenient passion
the mawkish pop music you mock
is now singing your story, as
your thoughts, your breath, your blood
all consumed by his eyes, his voice, his words
all the moments of his notice of you
painting your gray paper with extrinsic purple
and lavish green, filling your thirsty cup
with intoxicating attention, until time
is measured only by your meetings
You Stall...
hitting the invisible, inimical wall
penalized and ostracized
for presuming the right to ask why
for waking from complicit worship
for retaking your will and your mind
for staining his golden idol
with faith of the atheist
You Call...
for all his proud proclamations
he is a needy, greedy child
your adoration is his sun
your life force he feasts on
disenchantment is your release
from the prison of submission
his hollow heart, his churlish charm
all merely a false alarm-

This planet is such a vast variegated palette.
All ethnicities, cultures, and hues have talent.
A canvas filled with many views and dreams.
So gorgeous, humble souls and, now it seems.
In this kaleidoscope of diversity.
White and black blend into the darkness.
Mixed races provide level-thrived adversity.
There are both rich and poor people in stillness.
We're only those who will render this world whole.
Wise guys roam sidewalks, keen to meet raw souls.
Monks and spiritual seekers searching for peace.
All people love and foster rainbow beliefs.
Our earth, birthing cute beings, is a canvas to foresee.
People of various ethnic groups belong to humanity.
Wealthy life phase, adding warmth and awareness.
Wise, savvy, and humble despite race or fairness.
Because love is what we require to survive.
Bridge family tree gaps, penalized for being alive.
To create a world where vibrant colors combine.
The world is a colorful palette of sparkle and fine.

What due is this, O feline fierce,
for what affront thus penalized
with calibrated nips that pierce
for soft caress unauthorized?
T’was you with brazen move unasked
who burnished coat upon my limb.
What dire affect iconoclast
did stir your feral feline whim?
The cat is oft like womankind
beyond man's feeble intellect,
a primal spirit state of mind,
requiring manners circumspect.

Embedded Balls
When I heard about embedded balls
It got my full attention
I always thought it personal
Something one doesn’t mention
Then I read you might be penalized
Should you take relief
I thought what right do they have
They’re my own balls – good grief
And then I saw that picture
With a golf ball on a limb
And I realized they’re golf balls
Not the kind found on a him

When up I was growing, awed and confused,
sure was not I of which road to choose.
For binary my soul and dellusioned my mind,
I dallied at crossroads and worried not time.
Advised by my parents, mentors and teachers,
and hell and damnation from gospelling preachers.
And I young of youth so impressionable dear,
grasped for their words but availed not my ear.
For swayed by the Devil, so I was told,
of treasures of pleasures of counterfit gold.
Timidly, more boldly, I sought new sensation,
of carnal reality I made preservation.
But conscience was bothered and remorsely did grow,
my feet they did ponder of which way to go.
Temptation too great for me to withstand,
I cried unto GOD to give me a hand.
But His Holy Doctrine is not found in haste,
but abnegate the world with a seedling of faith.
Of frustrating skeptisisim I became apostate
and inclined toward autism and apathetic fate.
Drifting and squinting thru lusts' glaring light,
a glutenous hedonist all day and all night.
Inside of me though I feared what I was doin',
would eventually bring shame sorrow and ruin.
My karma so silent then leaped with a bound,
austere retribution enveloped me round.
So drubbed for my folly and benighted transgression,
my soul it feels cauterized, I caterwaul with compunction.
Penalized and contrite, with diffident circumspect,
with empirical knoiwledge I never shall forget.

It's like a scene out of The Children of the Corn,
Sweaters torn when I head the SWARM,
Inside the inner city desert storm,
My spectacular vernacular,
and poetic style will flip you like a spatula,
I'm snatchin' ya, solo like a bachelor
Your mind becomes a prisoner when i'm attackin' ya,
I'm nocturnal, I burn slow rhythm infernos,
The block colonel with the hottest journal,
It's my fault when, i'm assaultin',
I tell my enemies good night like the Waltons,
I'm a true hound check the paw prints,
Of the alphabet slinga'
The tongue lashin' guillotina',
I'm blowin' up your blocks like Hiroshima,
I got you gaspin', you snowed in, trapped in,
My blizzard like at Aspen,
When I snipe this
Like the Cypress
Your whole entire hood's collapsin',
While you're seized in the gridlock,
I hit spots for quick knots [money],
Yo' Yo' i'm mysterious like Hitchcock,
My panache is known to make chicks flock,
I drop tales that make the cops trail,
My knocks [poems] will hail,
In the form of molten cocktails,
I spit potion called 'Mic Devotion'
Tresspassers get penalized for illegal motion,
And you don't wanna'
Dishonor,
I'm at the point of no return
Like Bridgette Fonda,
Attackin' like piranha,
Inside your area,
it's the regiment that's contagious like Malaria,
It's the 1st stages of mass hysteria,
When we growl,
It's the callin' of the wild,
Check the 'Hood Files',
From the streets to the P'niles.

Just like football I am penalized
My wife says for being off sides
I just wanna snuggle a little bit
But you know them football brides
She wears black and white pajamas to bed
With that stupid whistle around her wrist
She blows that thing whenever I snore
And man do I get pissed
I say,"What was that for, what did I do?"
She said, "Delay of sleep for snoring too loud"
She even plays a recording that she had made
That sounds like a cheering crowd
I even won a prize in a cereal box
And did a little dance in jubilation
Again she blows that stupid whistle
Unsportsman like conduct, excessive celebration
So I asked her one day, "What's this about,
are you ever gonna stop this at all?"
She said, "Honey I just can't help it, it's your shape,
Cause you look like a giant football"

Life,
The Game
Written: by Tom Wright
10/13/01
I did not choose the game,
The game chose me.
My only choice,
Has been my manner of play.
I've played arduously,
Making plays,
Both decent and abject.
My final quarter finds clock running,
And the goal in sight.
With no times out,
I dare not be penalized.
For it becomes more imperative each day,
That, this game, I win !

I made a wish upon a star and really got burned
I made a wish upon a star and left Madonna breathless
I hitched my wagon to a star but forgot my spacesuit
The stars in my eyes turned out to be black holes
I couldn’t rise to the occasion so I took some Viagra
Did Harvey Wall Banger? Nope, Willy-Nilly slapped him silly
I once had sex on a golf course but wasn’t up to par and got penalized three strokes
A sex therapist counseled a maggot couple to make love in Earnest
I decided to take a brisk walk but there was this plank…
I WALKED that plank but they drained the pool so I cracked up
I walked the line and it was a very thin line (A very fine line though)
I walked the straight and narrow and had to stop for directions
I made a molehill out of a mountain and the EPA was NOT amused
I made another molehill out of a mountain and the CLIMBERS were not amused
I made ANOTHER mole hill out of a mountain but some mole dug up some dirt on me
I was shamed when the scandal was published in The Holey-Moley Enquirer
So I dug up some dirt on THEM and completely ruined my manicure…
If life is a rat race, God needs to set out some traps
Life was a bowl of cherries til I cracked my tooth on a pit
Speaking of pits, I escaped The Pit and the Pendulum but (Oh, rats)
Speaking of rodents, three-blind-mice ran into a herd of stampeding lemmings and quickly took the plunge…

Light Verse
I beheld your frame in my doubting eyes
there was no way for me to
explain this to by brain.
How could my trembling hands want to
follow the trail, and explore your definition.
If I know you are taboo.
What damage could be done in my adoration.
Not put here I think, for my souls appreciation
I cannot humble myself enough to walk away
If my lust defiles you -I am certain
I cannot look away,
captured in the gleam of my eye,
It's not for me to decide
God our creator already
has said that lust is a sin
that starts in the minds eye.
I behold a sight that draws
me like a magnet to metal.
Shall I blame this on the devil?
Are my feelings evil?
My resources are feeble.
Signals received under complicated
conditions.
Waiting for your response to free me.
If I lose my soul -I will be lost forever
if there is such a thing
as the great beyond -- I will be doomed.
If I be true to my now,
as natural as it may seem.
Who will call the foul ?
I am waiting on your response to free me.
The virus of the unrighteous
has spread to the future..
We have become what we once hated
infuriated, that what's inside me is despised.
I have never supt of your essence.
Though I be penalized-God
who knows the score-When he
indicts me with this crime...
God who controls my emotions
my thoughts-Leaves this one to my charge.
fraught I am in this conflict-Shall I remain lost.?
Waiting on your response.
If we kiss now,
I cannot touch you in the future-
One day it won't matter about
Color age or respective gender.
We can love completely
without guilt or shame-
without the threat of
torture in a treacherous flame
One day love and lust will be the same.
It will all be fine, until then
I will wait with dubious mind.

Prose Poetry
The "IZE" have it
We the people try to Rationalize
the choices we make with compromise
Let's be honest we tend to idolize
and we rarely do apologize
Are rights we try to exercise
to demonstrate and vocalize
But I have come to realize
that this is all a big disguise
Government with power to terrorize
tear you down and demonize
Smile while they vandalize
you freedom, your rights oh,but don't criticize
"For the people" as they dehumanize
baby's in the womb who are being penalized
because maternity clothes are hard to accessorize
It's my body!! We should empathize
Stand up, speak up before we are all criminalized
for doing what's right. so we don't jeopardize
Our one true freedom Jesus whom did rise
So come on America open your eyes!!

I think sharp,
Making sure i penetrate through the sun,
Just to see what's on the other side,
What's manipulating the light,
The fight of survival,
The fight with spirit and that's your given rifle,
they fire shots from the sky,
I duck! insuring I'm not hit
Protecting my dreams,
my only missions which are directed by truths definition,
I go deep making sure that all words come alive,
The imagination that gets processed in my mind,
That kind of thought that's never left behind,
The outcomes of one fellow,
And the hype i feel when they all follow,
The winner! the grin in their face,
As they see me face to face,
Not like yesterday when they gave me that cold stare as if the grim reaper snatched their souls away ,
That dark phase,
the night before the day
When Nobodies ever there for you,
So you pray!
Pray for the light to stay
The selfishness in that way,
light was meant to shine on all
So! lets share the glow
Nobody wants to be left alone
Specially not with a hallow on their head
The light that passes to late
Resulting in ones fate,
The abyss,
the deepest place one can ever live
To the highest peak one can ever reach.
I'm rich of dreams,
rich of everything cause its all in my mind anyway
so I'm delusional and that's okay.
JUST WAIT!
As that could be my destination,
So I'm penalized for setting myself straight
Because I'm the night sky,
The unseen eye
The unheard melody
The untold story
So! I listen to the lies that they say,
Those invisible lines projected by the light to lead me to my fate,
From their mouths to my eyes
So I'm second,
No! I'm third
Now the spots on my skin shine
The stars! The beautiful guardians earthlings foretold,
But nobody sees me
I wonder Why?
Is it because of my dark matter that just occupies everything,
Well I know I'm dark,
Dark like the night sky
The noon, beautiful as the moon
I'm June to July
I rule, I see it with my third eye.

There are many wonders that cloud the world
Notable among them are the ultimate sevens
You and I have heard about
(I believe this century is yet to discover
all the world wonders,
and again is not all of these famous sevens
we've all visited.)
These sevens
Form both the broad wonders of the world.
These illustrious sevens are odd havens
That make people world over
Paid homage to each of their host soil.
Day in, day out
People tour around
These earthy heavens.
Just like Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem,
The old and new wonders of the world
Serve as assets to their host kingdom.
They make their host land
Famous across the globe.
They garnish their boniface with
Flying wealth across the land,
And swimming priceless
Across the unified ocean.
I hope I will not be penalized to have generalized my findings. I
think writing generally about where I've visited via research is the best.

Staring down the dark empty halls of loneliness
Left devastated, vulnerable and absolutely helpless
Will we ever walk out into the light to find happiness
My intuition feeds my terrifying pain and agony
Don’t mistake these words for please of sympathy
I just wish I had the keys to unlock pains misery
Do I really need shackles do I really pose a threat
I have only begun to be a menace you haven’t been terrorized yet
Bolted, held down and not leash free
In all my days I never thought that would be me
Desolation, gloom, fright, misdoubted and nothing gained
Can you believe all these things come from being chained
Jailed, caged, incarcerated, and constrained
These are some the reasons we can’t maintain
Under lock and key in the penitentiary
Keeper, Gaoler, warden, guard, and turnkey
Those people who can sustain us in captivity
Jailbird, convict, inmate, felon, and internee
That’s what we are called constantly
A sense of relief soon an impossibility
Penalized for what they call encroachment
When you’re free you no longer can approach me
Without uncertainty, fear and anguish
Because you were once in fetters and punished
One day we will not have to be retained
When that day come don’t forget how you were “Chained”
