The sun is shining brightly now
The clouds from the hurricane gone
Air is crisp, cool slightly moving
From the northwest where winter comes
One lone hugh hickory decorates
The wood below the house with gold
The water droplets on the grass
Glistens in the soft yellow sun
The crows and roosters seem to be
In a choral competition
For on stage spotlight in woods where
Burnt sienna contrasts pine green
The needles still linger on trees
Ginko still is green waiting change
To the yellow of fall which means
Winter is upon the whole land
The sasanqa camelia blooms
Double white blooms first profussion
In seven years, early freeze kills
Most years, blessed with quiet beauty
Swinging daffodils under the azure sky
as if thousands of butterflies waiting to fly.
In front of me upto almost horizon
nodding their yellow heads in unison.
A yellow sea amid lush green of Spring
creating waves butterflies without wings.
Praying to God each one looking towards sky
'Next time please give us wings to fly'.

I see stripes across the land
Some are green and some are brown
And then there are red, yellow purple and blue
As I get closer I smell the view
Red Carnations, Yellow Mums
Purple Violets and blue phlox
To me it is a pleasant scene
To those with allergies they want to scream
My mellow yellow rose,
You don't wear socks or hose.
You grow from a root
You never laugh or toot.
You have such will power.
You are such a lovely flower.
On your stem you have a thorn.
In your petals a cross is worn.
If cut you would gradually die.
Then Linda-Marie Bariana would cry.
We can't have that so you must stay alive.
And on your stem you will grow and thrive.
My mellow yellow rose,
With help from above still grows.
Gather round my children
For a bed time story
All about this wizard
Who fought in fame and glory
He lived in this old castle
When the world was new
When evil wizards ruled the world
Through spheres of violent blue
While other wizards stood and watched
Our hero lit his staff
And fiery orange and yellow light
Would split those balls in half
It happened almost nightly
Till all that could be seen
When yellow orange met blue balls
And everything turned green
Now that is why the landscape
Ever since that dawn
Has got a growing green top
That we now call the lawn
So go to bed my children
The dawn is coming soon
You’ve got to do the mowing
And the bushes need a prune
And dream about this wizard
And what he’s done to you
For he said only children
Could maintain what now grew
Now I’d be out there helping
If I thought the wizard wrong
But dads have held this theory
Since that wizard’s day long gone

My friends come dine with me, while nature writes its poetry.
Corn, maize, sunflower seeds, bread, nuts and fruit for all
your needs. A bowl of water for you to wash, a gentle sip and
your thirst may quash. Through the pine the sun doth glow,
around the table the colours flow. Before my eyes this
coloured mist, the morning air and dewdrops kissed. Blue ****,
Great **** danced the floor, Blackbirds, Thrushes wanting more.
Spotted Flycatchers dart and dash, Chaffinch, Bullfinch preen
and splash. The Treecreeper stalks the maize, a Bee Eater green
on yellow floats the haze. Jays and Magpies for morsels fight,
Wagtails hop in black and white. The Robin stands and shows
his chest, the Siskin lands not far from nest. A Yellow Wagtail
carries the eye, all is song beneath the sky. A Crossbill comes
and steals the seeds, the Wren is perched and gently feeds. On
a branch high above sit a pair of Turtle Doves, as a Bunting
sings to the one he loves. Warblers, Goldcrests scrap for corn,
Sparrows skip and clean the lawn. This mornings table was
with colour blessed, all was warm in natures nest.
Powerful electric bolts
Steal the show
That is displayed
By the storm clouds
Clouds covering the sun
Giving off brown and black color
With a yellow glow on the edge
A golden yellow in the center
Miles and miles of wheat
Growing on the prairie
Rain God's gift
Lightening bringing nitrogen
Two need elements
For the wheat's health
Let us be like the lightening
Bringing life and nourishment
Needed elements to the earth
To help make people whole
Seeing God in us and his power
Like the lightening's display
Looking out my window
The ginko in plain view
Daily changes seen, wow
Like a new born's coo
The leaves yellow start
With just a very few
Then slowly more impart
Until lime green and yellow debut
Soon the whole tree
Will endrenched yellow be
Sunshine in my yard for free
Even some leaves for tea
Soon the leaves will leave
As does the baby's coo
Bare limbs look dead, grieve
But miracles are in brew
Spring will come with buds
The baby now says words
Life has done one cycle
The others will just be heard
