Best Mothertime Poems
Mud puddles were made for little boys on warm summer days,
In search of tadpoles and frogs and other delightful items of play.
Grass snakes are fine but they’re hard to contain,
They get slick and slimy when left in the rain.
Little boys need big pockets to amass all their wealth,
Momma’s need strong hearts to keep up their health.
They never know the mysteries they’ll incur while sorting those jeans,
What’s lurking in those pockets may be obnoxious and obscene.
Cowboys and Indians with a stick horse named Rex,
Little Johnny told Tommy my new name is Tex.
He said I’m the toughest desperado this side of old San Antone,
The fastest quick draw that’s ever been known.
Momma calls out, it’s time to come in, it’s time to lay down,
Come in right now there is no need to frown.
So off to their rooms they are sent, so momma can rest,
As they both hug her neck and say you are the Best.
Death, I've seen your face before,
heard your knock on my son's door,
that time you came without forewarning,
the shock, the grief, the endless mourning.
This time I felt your hoof beats thunder,
dark horse tearing all asunder,
cold hand of death would seize another,
lethally, you chose my mother.
Death divides us like a wall,
no encore, no curtain call,
and though we can't be side by side,
our love can cross this great divide.
Life is short, or so they say,
but grief elongates every day.
Time, they say, will heal all wounds,
but mine are deep and widely strewn.
The midnight sky is bright with stars,
I whisper to you "Au Revoir,"
a gentle breeze-my cheek is kissed,
I hope you know how much you're missed.

As she sighs along to the quiet,
she hears a pleasant whisper.
It is her own enchanted voice.
For she has some time to think.
She hears a pleasant whisper,
As she let's the wave of still surround her,
for she has some time to think.
And soaked in flooded moments,
as she let's the wave of still surround her,
it is her own enchanted voice.
And soaked in flooded moments,
as she sighs along to the quiet.
Every time John Bull brings the holly
Out of the woods
I go where my poinsettias grow merrily
To see the fire glows
Red like blood in leaves defying
The winter's coming and the cold
Every time a spruce, pine or willow
Is cut down to carry shards of sun
Or rewrite the history of the cross
I wander from home with heavy sighing
Torn up by the forest lost
To keep its pride each winter's blast
And I go the rocks to see below
The sea's white fury crash
In scowling anger
Sweeter than the bells jingling by stores
The carols mingling
Love with trade and vanity
I want something more
A little purer than all commerce creed
I want the scent of sorrel dripping
From the kitchen's eave
The baker's barters stirring
And the old katacu smoking
The prepared fish and meat
O not for the feast as you supposed
But for mother's presence
In the first season of her absence
She hung poinsettias
And brew and roast and bake
While she sorted drapes and curtains out
And sang the alto happy carols
As she designated us to our task
Ah Christmas was her presence here
Nothing more
I go to the shore to give my wounded soul some rest
While parching for the milk of happiness
Mom I lost you when I was 6
It on a was Christmas Night
You was killed in front of me
I was only 6
When it happen
I stood their sacred
Not knowing what to do
I ran too the phone and called 911
The time they got their it was to late
Now that I'm older
I was I could you see you
One Last time
For Mother Days
I would buy you Roses
And give you a million kisses
If I could see your face
But I Know god took you for a reason
Cause your up their standing right beside him
Staring down on me
I love you mom
Happy Mothers day
You're a rose
beautiful in every sense
and yet so much more
A part time doctor
part time cook
even a father
Raising three boys
you are strong
refusing to hide your thorns
Believing you can do the impossible
even stop time
able to see through me
Your eyes could search my soul
seeing truth
detecting lies
Make sure you wear clean underwear
In case you're in a wreck
The mother's wisdom I'll list here
Is truly just a speck
Don't forget to brush your teeth
And never tell a lie
If you make that face it'll stay that way
But we never asked her why
Wear a coat when you go outside
Or you'll catch your death of cold
We heard these things everyday
Til the time that we grow old
It's just like time to repeat itself
Her wisdom is here to stay
For my wife still says these precious words
To our children everyday
Someone is leaving us someone we love.
We ask for some help from our lord above.
At one time she had such a glow.
This disease creeped up on her so slow.
At first we watched her memory slip.
Then as she walked everthing made her trip.
Every night her children pray.
Please dear lord let her stay.
The days go by and she just sits and stare's.
We all wish she knew we were there.
As time passes and the days grow long.
We pray our love will make her strong.
This disease has caused so much pain.
Remember Alzheimer's is it's name.

Alzheimer's effects so many family's not just mine but thousands.
So remember those souls that this disease effects.
I made you cookies...and braided your hair
I walked you through Mother Goose and skinned knees
Once when you were nine, and wanted to run away from home
I helped you pack your bag...you cried...
Of course, you only got as far as the end of the driveway, that first time
When you were eleven, and wanted to run away from home,
I stuffed two dollars in your pocket,...you cried....
And I told you to look both ways before crossing the street...
You got as far as the corner,... before turning back.
Then came the day, you really left home....
You were heading to college
That time I watched....and I cried....
But you found your way back....
I cried again..when you were married...good tears...
but this time I knew ...God willing, ....you wouldn't need to come back...
You became a mother....and on that day....for the very first time did we...
truly know....
understand....
and appreciate each other
My Daughter... I love you very very much...Happy Mother's Day
An Angel of Truth
If death is where you are
A message has been sent to me
From a single wheeling star
Life goes on eternally
Dead is not who you are
Long time gone now Mother
Afterlife seems too beyond too far
For imaginings of mine to wonder
Bright single life wheeling star
Proved to me with a mystery
For days I was followed through the ether
Came to say “ goodbye ” to me
Mother long time it is to remember
Your gift from the other side of deaths door
With precious knowledge reminding me
Love goes on eternally
Proof there is beyond the hereafter
Her soul/spirit light grew in radiance
Vanished so brightly and did so, so joyfully
But came to say “ goodbye ” to me
A single scintillating living wheeling star
Appearing in the air before me
No; not of my imagination
Denial cannot brook An Angel of Truth
So listen
If you can listen
In light
In love
Life goes on
Eternally
Death does not exists
Is my Mothers message to everyone
So if you have lost someone
They are not gone
Someday in your infinite life
The time will come
When their single wheeling star
Will greet you once again
