HAIKU #1-14 (Taken from my files totaling 12,016 haiku, started in 2/9/06)

Ants red as wine A black spider seem to own
dine on yellow nectar squatter's rights right on
from a juicy mango. our front porch.

Day of rain and A quiet gentle breeze brought
zero visibility, then thoughts of Belize and
pastel evening sky. New York's Hudson.

Morning draped in silk Drenched from his walk
of white as we await snow a lone man sat basking on
and sleet and cold rain. bench in sudden sunshine.

In dreariness of winter Driving home by night
my philodendron buds stands I fled the signal of a white
erect and frozen. hand hitchhiking.

Earth held in traction In temp of one hundred
by glistening silver moon a black bird basked
full like a balloon. in my shadow.

Blond rabbit pregnant In dark of night
with ***** often visit and With full moon bright
side with the husband military copters all in a row.

A spider sleeps all day In early morn my pen
then wake up and work poised like stillness of
at post twilight time. trees awaiting breeze.

Miniature Dachshund

Small and mighty,little and proud
One of the weeniest doggies around
but don't let size fool you, you're in for a treat
I am one of the bravest and loyalest you'll meet

The comical clown who just loves to play
I'll take no time to train if you show me the way
I'll play with your slippers, and sleep on your bed
and then when you're sleeping, lick your face, neck and head.

some say I am yappy but i swear its all rumors
My sharp high-pitched bark is just meant for intruders
I'll roll on my back and let you rub my tummy
I'll do anything for a small treat, if its yummy

potty training can take a while they say
but remember that Rome wasn't built in a day.
oh and dogs can be gassy so please beg my pardon
and I may dig the occasional hole in the garden

But if you're looking to take on a new life long friend
and you promise to care for me right to the end
you don't need to search far or start looking around
choose the 'doxie', the dachshund, the 'sausage dog' hound!

Poetriat of Eastern Cape Miniature

If the sun shines
Vicious that the hands could hold its heat
If the wind whirls and wails
Turbulent, with fierceness of rushing water
If it becomes icy cold
That it could freeze the mind
If the sky, sullen and sly
Suddenly wear, without a tear
And the heaven unlatches its showers
Unceasing regardless of the reigning season
If cold and heat engaged
In a no conquest duel
If there are mown meadow mountains
More than human habitat
With hills spreading and sprawling
Sparingly shares expanse of space
If the valleys are fast and vast
Height-locked by conniving hills and mounts
And the plains, plain and plane
Laid bare of thickets and thorns
If you keep ascending and descending
In rhythmical crescendo and decrescendo
If the landscape is strewn
With mingling lily white egrets and sheepish African cows
If summer, winter, spring and autumn
Rolls, in seconds, minutes and hours
If all faces reflect Mandela
And most voices resonate his accent

Then, it is Alice, another wonderland!
The little Xhosa town; the University town of Fort Hare!!

Premium Member Miniature Juniper

Although I hardly gave it a thought
I didn't really doubt
our miniature juniper, a bonsai,
would survive our desert vacation.
                                                  It likes the dry
air of our home, needs water
once a week at most and seems
meditative and active, both. While away
I rediscovered my love of agaves -
                                                 sotol and century
plant - met Mortonia and became
reacquainted with squawbush, its citrus
drupe which makes traveling the long horizon
of the desert uplands endurable.
                                                 Live oaks - emory,
wavyleaf - dominant and regally spaced
giving ground to mesquite only on the sere
sand flats. I counted and drew inflorescenses,
spikelets, florets, awns but grasses
                                                 remain a mystery
their microscopic parts. This year
I'll study, give them serious thought before
our Spring starts. The cactus wren was the one
bird I could be certain about. Sunsets
                                                 made me sorry
the desert is not my home. But the ocotilloes
flowered before we left and that made up
for the vicious attack of a hedgehog cactus.
Impressive, ponderosa pine and Arizona cypress
                                                 the canyon canopy
watered with snowmelt and along the high cliffs
limestone formations predating our arrival by
ten million years of weather. Newspapers
kept us aware humanity had not accomplished yet
                                                 the end of history
and that was fair. The planes were full of citizens
who no longer applaud upon landing. Snow flew,
not a pinyon pine or manzanita within two moons
walking. On the dining room sideboard, waiting,
                                                 our miniature juniper.

Premium Member Doggie View of a Territorial Miniature Eskimo

Hi, my name is Ollyver, and here’s my doggie view:
You could call me simply “Boo” and I’d still come to you!

I’m fluffy white, the mini version of an Eskimo.
My human lady makes me go out back and then yells, “GO!”

Sometimes she says more than that. She adds the small word, “pee.”
“Ollyver, go pee,” she cries. “Just pee. Go pee for me!”

Often times I’ll run about or try to dig a hole.
Apparently my digging in the yard is not her goal!

She calls me back and if I do not come, she chases me.
Her voice bears a question and again, that dang word PEE.

Inside the house, I sit near her - unless I hear strange noise,
and often at the window, I’ll look out and see some boys.

I start to yap. I HAVE to yap! I yap, yap, yap, yap, YAP.
And when they leave, I run with glee back to my lady’s lap.

I love to feel her scratch my ears and smooth my pretty fur.
If someone comes too near the house, I’ll yap, protecting her.

She doesn’t often give me yummy food right off her plate,
but sometimes she might give me some, so anxiously I wait.

I make my eyes get big and sad and whimper like a child.
I can’t go too far overboard or else she will get riled!

If food remains upon her plate, she scrapes it in my bowl.
That’s even better than when I go out and dig a hole!

There’s one thing I can’t figure out. She saw me tinkle once
nearby a wall, then yelled about me pulling stupid stunts.

She and her man get crazy when I do that, so I try
to only tinkle in the house when it is on the sly!

She takes me out to that back yard quite an awful lot.
Sometimes I’ll tinkle and I always poo poo like I ought.

More kids outside the window! Must I always have to beg
for them to leave? I yap, and near the wall I lift my leg.

The Miniature Airborne Lamps

Winking on before the stars
These little airborne lamps
Endowed my neighbourhood
As my wide grey eyes feel good

I must stop and stare
As electric insects appear
No one can take this view from me
As long as my eyes can see

Dancing in their flights
Guided by several lights
Every dawn must die
As they skillfully fly

From the beetle family
With a light-based vocabulary
Giving a lovely glow
And a call and response show

See their lower abdomen
Several lights for men
Yellow, green and orange light
Chasing out darkness at night

Observe the cold light
Has it any heat?
Very few ultraviolet rays
Useful in many ways

O! miniature lightening bugs
Let scientist give you hugs
For they've learnt from thee
As we all could see

Thomas Edison became envious
Is his bulb a match for yours?
Heavy electric bills today
Firefly, I need thy ray

Have you ever seen a firefly? If you haven't, please strive to see in their darkness flight.I advise you check your electric bills today and think of what these small creatures can offer.

Miniature Garden Part 1: the Gardens

It's turning and spinning, going around and spinning
The ---- is a miniature garden.
We are living side by side in that miniature garden,
In that garden, we live our eternity alone.
Foolish.....

There are different concepts to each of the miniature gardens
The miniature garden of things and the world, the garden of time,
The miniature garden of your body and then your heart.
These different gardens will all eventually grow sometime.

But somethings don't belong in the miniature gardens,
And it is definitely a good thing they don't collide.
But for the one that get caught into these places,
They will suffer until they learn to abide.
But I can't say what ----- is......

Mother, is it a bad thing to get caught?
Just as something is bad because it's painful, there has to be more.
I think that eventually, it could lead to happiness in the future,
Because you find out what ---- has in store.
But you are already straying from the miniature gardens......

The miniature garden is controlled with pure feelings,
Foolish, the reason may have no meaning at all.
The fallen things are very simple, but the problem is,
The truth behind everything that will fall.
Never close the cloak to the miniature garden.

Miniature Gardens Part 2: Memories

The flashback was like a revolving lantern to me,
My hands shook because of the blood,
My legs because of the cold.
I wanted to hold onto those warm memories before they aged.

I don't remember how much I dreamed of you,
Dreaming of the cross of swords, hurt or hurting, or painting my heart with hatred,
As well as I've remembered with anger, but I can't forget your smile,
"When did I become so weak?" I think as I lay in the mud.

To be honest, there was some sort of wall between us when we became allies,
But that smile held the wall away, but we were too late,
And when our alliance came to an end, the wall grew weaker,
And I couldn't stand in front of it, this was fate.

I tell you "Because it has ended,"
But you can't take that answer.
"It was like a bright lantern, right?
Wasn't it enough for us to take the pressure?"

I, the man, was shaking from her facial expressions,
It showed all the hatred towards those precious memories that made us enemies,
Yes, I were weak, and I admit, I wanted to tell you so badly,
I wasn't enough, I couldn't keep the memories.

Miniature Gardens Part 4: End

Come on, come on,
Come out from there.
I promise to be here, near here, close to here,
For as long as you are here.

If I can cure your loneliness this way,
I will stay with you throughout your day,
And for more than an eternity for us,
So don't cry, my sun ray.

Don't cry.....
For as long as possible.....

Miniature Microphone In the Phones

i once was courageously brave
unaware and dark with a gaping young heart
it intensely told me, I could be fearlessly bold
and write inflicting lyrics that could change the whole world
well, I didn't believe it of course

until they kept senselessly disappearing
and someone on the radio
was singing my songs (lyrics)
a country star, then a rapper,
then, and then,
until someone vehemently put me in the local hospital
for six days and nights, of five I was unconscious
then I believed that I could write a change

talking about fear and confusing (confusion)
how did they know about me
i never gave my songs to anyone
and no one every gave me a dime...
or a penny

Miniature Gardens Part 3: Regrets

How should I act? It's so hard to take back something,
You loved but had lost once.
I tasted, I knew that once, the once and a lifetime,
Will I really...be able to turn back to something...

Something that was obviously in that time?
I was too weak to tell her anything.
Everything she told me, but received nothing back,
It remains even now and keeps on adding......

Even if it rains,
The moon is bright.
I don't get it,
It's already night.

I don't have the strength to stand,
My legs are too heavy to bend.
I don't understand,
As I hear sounds of the end.....

It's over.....
Together.......

In my hand
A small tome,
Words most grand
Take me home.

Small yet deep
My best friend,
Thought winds steep
Seed most grand.

In a while
Feel clear zest,
Words can style
Smile and fest.

This small book
Speaks of wealth,
Peek and look
Jazz knows health.

A short take
Moves so much,
Make a break
In prompt touch.

A rare find
Comes to heal,
Peace of mind
Moves fond feel.

Gratitude
Moves dear heart,
Attitude
Streams clear start.
