Best Love Memories Poems

When Love Paints a Picture

When love paints a picture we can clearly see
Igniting powerful emotions between you and me
Unlocking the door setting our spirits sailing free
Empowering our souls lighting up so magically
Allowing us to bond into our forever destiny
Together as one in complete harmony
Love opening windows of opportunity
Shaping our life into all that will come to be

Exploring boundaries without being denied
Feeling our love that is so magnified
Out in the open where we don't have to hide
Where we can enjoy life's amazing ride
Praying it's enough to get us to the other side
Not being defeated by our foolish pride
In a special place where our hearts light up the sky
With God living in heaven turned up on high

Wonderful the way love rolls in like the ocean tide
Life's cherished memories are locked deep inside
As we take them all in stride for stride
Making sure to keep our eyes open wide
Breathtaking watching our love collide
Living life's tender moments before they pass us by
Honoring each other in love without asking why
Sharing a lifetime together is what makes it all fly

Your Garden

in your garden i long to be
mayhem after mayhem , you pose as me
in this outdoor imaginary scenery that fills my room
I'll watch the leaves forming a departing memory , persistence is your skin perfume
honey I'm the sun that refused to set , for I'm in love with you my moon
so don't be alarmed my moon i the sun madly in love couldn't but eclipse
how can a shark get enough from the sea by mere few dips
I'm the ultimate sanity who delved into shear insanity
what's love but beautiful pain
the ears cried from what it heard and didn't hear
the eyes sweating tiresome of waiting, if only the seer of visions could hear .
now that i regret all i did and didn't do
where my severed garden meets your forbidden blue
on the sea bed my tears must be pearls by now
to get you back , i must roam patiently so tell me how
I'm the young in your arms , I'm the old in your absence
I'm the sorcerer, I'm the saint, I'm the gift i don't posses
I'm the tree , I'm the cobweb , I'm the stone
in your house I'm the only thing you can call home
till my sky meets my earth
I'll wait for you back, love for me you'll give birth
with the corner of eyes , in your photo I'll blow breath
I'll wait for your smile, now I'm out of breath
my bruised skies , left scars on my heart that never dies
under the tree of death I'll wait till you resuscitate my breath
it's love. ..no more ....no less

Swept Aloft

I walk the shore caressed in smiles
   Touched by a thousand memories
       Swept aloft by perfumed sighs
In the curl of your embrace
Mermaids carry my love to you
The tide returns with your kiss

Premium Member Love Memories So Still

Sparkling snowflakes touch my skin
Tingling reminders of where we could be
Dancing through the evergreens
Across the pure blanket of snow
Our breath seen with sighs in the air
Of every word I love you so
And I would dance all day if I could
Holding hands in our laughter
Making snow angels on the hill
Where nothing could ever dim
The sparkle of your smile that stays
In the frame with memories so still

No Dragons

It’s you by the stream
only you among the trees
nature in and around you
is a lovely thing
as you walk to the lodge
and your smile
is welcoming inviting.

A kiss on your neck
where you like
and I learn how the
combing of that endless
river of hair with deep
devotion is hypnotic
oh the smell of you!

We groove to R.E.M.
and tell God we’re good
because we are good
there is serenity and I
feel it all around us
and tension sexual need
your dress keeps secrets
perfectly so there are
mysteries to solve and
promises to keep.

There are oranges for you
standing out of respect
for your ingenuity
waiting for your delicious
lips waiting for your
methodology for your
insane loveliness and
there are candies too
my sweet red orange
(which are not here but
there for you)
blue green yellow brown.

You talk in tongues to me
captivate me as Raya lies
rests in repose a scene
so surreal so Dali groans
painting as you go colors of
your essence pervade.

No karma due here no
elephants in this room
mountains are climbed and
conquered passions meted out
no there is nothing but
you and me we and us
and a bug I named Caligula
no dragons to slay this day.

How To Feel When Your House Burns Down

How to Feel When Your House Burns Down
The home you are raised in is a mother tongue.
I was four when it was built, an age when innocence
turns river water and all that lives within to blood.
First birthdays and first dances fortify the mantel.
This home transports milestones, our own vessel
to move us from sidewalk chalk to the attempt to outrun

the stagnancy found only in the debilitation of the long run.
At seven, I held him in my arms and love upon my tongue.
Promises danced on my lips and ran rampant on my vessels.
College funds started in a baby bottle, tiny wishes held in a cent.
I remember grappling with his growth, attempting to mantle
the affinity we pinky promised deep into our own blood.

At twelve, my father taught me to dance in the blood
and glass on the hardwood. Still, I watch his fingers run
to sow flowers in my mother's hair, her back, mantling,
the image of infatuation, true love, in our minds. A tongue
of tenderness has our childlike innocence
giggling and shouting at the inamoratas and the vessel

of devotion in which each of us was vesselled
into this life. Each of us was born in the fervor of blood,
so sweet. My mother threaded honey, burned incense,
and chewed lemon slices whole to hold us near. She ran
baths of salts and oils, to cleanse the ever growing tongue
of infernos that caressed, more captivated, our mantel

of consciousness. For many years, we tied sheets to mantels.
With pillows and blankets, we’d build ourselves a vessel
to a land of fairies and warriors who shared the same tongue.
Pool noodles became swords. Here we spilled blood,
convincing ourselves if we were to sprint, leap, run
fast enough we too could fly amongst the rest, innocent

to the world around us. At nineteen, I watch the innocence
leave our home. Adolescent memories that kiss the mantel
turn to sharp licks in the wild fire that is running
through the bones of our sweltering home, the vessel
of affinities, dances, compassion, imagination, and the blood
that connects it all, now lapped up with tongues,

too heavy for the innocent, a cancerous burn in our vessels.
The mantle of snow is no relief to the flames that drip like blood.
And still, we do not run, we wait for the final lick of a mother's tongue.

Premium Member Love Is

Our life book is loaded up with lots of love.
A sentence here, a paragraph there; even a chapter pair;
Hearing wedding bells, sharing honeymoon embraces, alone times and skis;
Other romantic tales of ships with sails cruising exotic seas.
Children churning ice cream with us the old-fashioned way.
Grandchildren rushing to our knees; hugging us at the door.
The sadness of seeing the passing of warm parental love
And all the bittersweet memories that a lifetime may endure.
Our love will flow on through wrinkled skin and jowly chins.
Love is beyond feeling, it is a way of life.

Forever and a Day

If I had one Christmas wish
For family and friends this year,
We would take the opportunity to strengthen values and beliefs
We hold so dear.

We would make time to sit at the table,
Break bread with those we love,
Fold our hands and bow our head,
Giving thanks to our Father above.

Read a book to the children,
Try to make the moments last.
Talk to them about family traditions,
Connecting with members of family past.

We would indulge in enjoyable stories,
Talk about our role models that paved the way,
Take comfort in the traditions that bring us together,
Creating a lasting bond, forever and a day.

Heart To Heart

Light through window-
my friend waits
on another table
but affections stirred.
Seasons ago
our lives got in the way
of what could have been.
Still after a few minutes
she comes to me
and for a moment
we’re together.
Old conversations shared
find new life
and now she’s part-time
caring for her daughter
at home
(I saw her daughter once
at the restaurant once)
and yes I’m still writing.
She wants to buy
my next book
just like the others books
She pats me
on the shoulder
remnants of love
shared as if
it never died
and a tree outside
regains its bloom.

Premium Member Thoughtful

In all of my years, JoAnn was the most THOUGHTFUL soul I ever met!
That's one of the reasons I was the luckiest a man could possibly get!
You name it and she knew exactly what she needed to do!
Before she acted she thought everything through!
She wouldn't offend a living being; humans, animals, avians and more!
That was one of her many wonderful traits I still adore!
To know, know, know her is to love, love, love her are words from an old song
So I knew instantly that it was with her that I belong!

Memories surface,a requiem of
sounds,heaving emotions realign,
words recalled speak volume from
deep within , and live again on a trail
of nows then wash nostalgia’s face
with random spontaneity from
the unconscious mind.The house
full of yesterdays,books that filled
wet Wednesdays,cross-stitched hours
upon the wall.Eclectic collected
moments,sentiments,priceless,unique
and irreplaceable,this smell of love
percolating into endless tomorrows

The Poems I Never Wrote

I dare you to give up
can't you feel the air?
as I fly by your ego
you ate my despair,
It's caught between your teeth
your skin laced in grief,
relatable suffering;
gripping your mindless thoughts
don't you remember peace?
Forgetful sins;
committed with greed
dressed up in satin sheets,
look at your ruby red cheeks;
we could chase the seas
I count the days;
to remember the chaos,
the chaos;
you brought to me
don't remove it now,
or you'll choke on the memories.

The Lost City

My hometown, my lost friend,
Thank you for greeting me once again,
at a time when we both are lost.
When I wander your streets,
you also wander within me,
weaved into my thoughts.
Winding down to your core,
to the oldest part of you,
I finally remember your last hug.

I left you in chase of dreams,
but the silence of your smooth brick walls
always called me back, haunting me to recall my origin.
Do you remember when I climbed up your bosom?
Swept up to your canals on the rustle of your voice in the wind?
I remember cycling up streets of yours,
through rows of antiquated shops,
the vast green fields coming into view.

I stretched on your arms and legs to the sand hills,
where your voice blew fainter than a whisper.
Your vast cemetery is a reminder of where we stand in relation.
And how in death, you hold us tight against your bosom still.
I know that your greens and parks are like your dreams.
And your slums, your plazas, are your nightmares.
How granite manors, dilapidated ruins of industry,
slums, and cafes dot your skin harmoniously.

Now I glance your history over thick stone railings.
Modernity to your face makes you sad,
an unclouded glimpses of your ancient face cries,
and I’m here to wipe your tears.
Your hug brings back my pleasures.
Some are darkened subconscious – like late nights walks,
embedded in drunken haze, winding to romanticism of my youth.
Others are gracefully vivid, the walks through the mango gardens,
holding my father’s hand, and dreaming of unknown world.
Now winding down to your core, to the oldest part of you,
I finally remember your name.
It rolls off my tongue like the sound plucked strings off a harp.
It is there that I know who you were.
It is then that your message –
– brings me peace in its clarity once more.
You are like the rediscovery of an old photograph –
bringing me peace in its clarity once more.
You are the city that made me,
and to who I owe my fondest memories.

Heed that I am older now,
I walk a shorter pace and sleep a longer hour.
Beautiful women in spring, in the sun,
only bring nostalgic sorrow to my heart,
I long to find you one last time,
My hometown, my lost friend.

Premium Member What He Will Miss

The funeral was over and as a new day dawned…
He was asked, “What will you miss most about him…now that he is gone?”

He did not answer right away…no…he thought on it a while…
as tears fell from his eyes and caught the corners of his smile.

And for a moment…a lovely moment…he felt lighter than the breeze…
as he floated on his tears through a sea of memories.

Then, with sorrow and joy harmonizing together in his tone…
“I will miss those moments that belonged to us.” He said.
“MomentS that were ours…and ours alone.”

At Your 4th Birthday

To my son Antonio,
As I am writing this, my deepest hopes are, it will reach you.
As my heart is overwhelmed, with both happy and sad memories.
Snoozing around my mind, my dreams and my feelings. This fourth birthday, I miss you son!

This is special poem, for your fourth's birthday,
I have not written before, not because I didn’t like,
But because I waited for time like this, that I cant hold anymore,

I wish I could be there, and make your birthday special.
But I failed to make it Boy, for the Gods people say
Everything and everything happen for reasons.

For four years we are apart, I am curious to know you.
How you are now, knowing your hobbies and how you grow up.
Are you cool person like your daddy? Or stubborn like XX
Are you a footballer or you don’t like it at all?
Do you like Simba sports club like your dads?
Do you like dancing, or you don’t like music at all?
What is your favorite food? Do you play with your friends?
And who is your best friend? Do you like school?
Am asking all this questions to let you know that I miss you.

I could be happy to raise you by my side,
Wish to see all stages of your growth,
Train you in different manners and our tribe customs,
I pray to see you as the best person!
I love you Tony-Please stay safe and be kind to everyone:
My prayers are with you always!
