Best Kick In Poems
I laugh and I cry
And I'm doing it all at the same time
I walk and I crawl
When not bouncing around like a rubber ball
It builds you up to tear your apart
Ain't love a kick in the heart
Feels good.....It hurts
But it tingles so, you know it works
It's sour...it's sweet
A chilling breeze in the summer heat
It's seeing the light from a shot in the dark
Ain't love a kick in the heart
L.............O.............V.............E
Is such a little word
But it can teach a hurricane
More about the twists and turns
It's black.....It's white
Pinstriped...Checkerboard and Tie Dyed
It's far....It's near
A screaming whisper in your ear
It's a wishing well full of falling stars
Ain't love a kick in the heart
It's crude.....with class
Dom Perignon in a redneck's glass
It's fast.....It's slow
Gaining ground when you lose control
It's a Rembrandt made from crayon marks
Ain't love a kick in the heart

You would not know the beauty of light.
were it not for the existence of night
You would not know to fear the dark
were it not for the joy that lives inside your heart.
We live our lives by comparison,
you know this to be true.
When nothings worthy of your greatest defense,
you have nothing much to lose.
Why long for touching the sky
when you barely know how to walk?
Why start staring contests with the walls.
(I told you long ago, they DO not talk!)
Why dread something will end
if it never really began?
Why build yourself a home
if all you have is sand?
Why dream at all
when nothing is guaranteed?
Why take the leap of faith
when you're most likely gonna bleed?
You think it's all just a game
because life dealt you a crappy hand.
You gotta ask questions, and take nothing for granted,
if you can ever wish to understand.
It's perfectly normal
to let the floodgates gush out,
or get bloody knuckles
from thrashing at trees.
With all your strength keep forging ahead,
it's what's life's all about.
When the path set before takes leaps and dives,
you say yes, please,
and thank you kindly!
We don't bother with the spiel;
Shoulda, woulda, coulda
for that does nothing for you.
Indeed there is a time for everything,
and right now the time to fortify
is long overdue.
It's you who do none or these things:
lose control, stumble, and cry out,
who are the ones I say a prayer for.
Even keymakers and wisdom teachers
take month long vacations.
Sometimes you just gotta kick down the door!
And say "Here I am, now take your best shot!
I'm ready to claim what I have so passionately sought!"
It's time we take this transformation
from squeamish boys into sturdy men.
I'll give your personality a good hard kick in the stones,
you need only say when.
Bought a pad of paper
Has lines on it
One hundred pages of paper
Already stained
Stole a Staedtler marker
Just a pen really
Stuffed with ink all waterproof
Document proof and lightfast
Wrote a poem just like this one
Used the pen to do it
Filled exactly one page of one hundred too
Just to spit this kyfe off
Too tired to do anything else
Waste time accept it
Because I don’t give a damn
Too tired to care
Shredded and burned this pad of paper
One hundred dreams too ashes
A million memories smoked
So what burned my hand too
Carried a flame in my heart
Left it in those pages
Hung out to dry
Like my soul in jet ink
Smeared across my face my hand
Smudged across my face too
So what, so who cares
The cliff base kicked me in the face
a sexist scandal
a single feeling
of sobering sickliness
a shriek
a stranger springs onto me
skin slides across skin
scraping and scratching
struggling and screaming
nobody comes to save me
a shard of slippery glass
snatched in a split decision
a slash
scarlet splatter spews along the silent street
the struggle subsides
moral costs of survival
have never seemed so selfish

Ain’t that a kick in the head?
Ain’t got nobody to ‘love you lots.’
So what?
Ain’t got nobody to call.
That’s cool.
Ain’t got nobody to call me good.
Good.
Ain’t got enough time to tell you the truth.
Whether I am good or bad is not up to you.
I decide to be real or lie.
So what if I don’t care if you begin to cry.
As they set you a task,
It’s all a-tisket, a-tasket, a-yakety-yak.
It’s all the same to me; don’t play your game.
You have to work or laugh.
Complete the level;
Move onto another.
One courageous deed needed indeed,
To find a perfect lover.
Stale-mates.
Just you wait.
Set your head free of need,
Or bite me.
