"Black Molasses"

Black Molasses
holds to ransom
footprints
sucked into
Tropic of Capricorn mud
as bushfires bleed
sugar from cane
like molten glucose
shot into the veins
of Mother Earth gone all
libertine sour
like Lemon Grass
crushed and burnt
acrid smoke inhaled
through the flaring nostrils
of brumbies running wild
coats the colour...

Premium Member After a Good Night's Sleep:
Anxiously the trees were awaiting their morning breeze,
Birds nestled amongst the high towering branches,
Caressing in couples as they watched over their nests,
Delicately leaves were falling due to Autumn's plight.
Embarking in flight, two crows left their pine behind,
Flying into the East and straight for the now...

Premium Member Joey and Dragon Graduate
Today was the day Dragon’s brother Joey graduated from Nursing School.
And yes, Dragon wanted to be there, it was, really, going to be Sooo Cool!
Parents and students gussied up in all their finery, a sight truly to behold.
The University never, truly, looked better, as future...

Premium Member Kangaroos
The Creator designed some mighty ridiculous looking creatures.
Among them are the kangaroos with some very curious features!
One of them is its massive tail that balances its pear-shaped frame.
But I suppose 'tis that ponderous pouch that really gives it fame!

With its hind legs it kicks like...

Premium Member My Life As Tasmanian Devil
Pups, imps, joeys, wiggling tailed marsupials, hunting in parties of five.
Deadly facial cancer has killed lots of us, it’s a wonder I am still alive.
I screech when I eat, carrion, my utmost favorite food, road kill.
My aggression insured me at babyhood alive I would be...

Tenderheart Bear
His teacher gave an assignment
On his first day of school,
She told the kids to write a book
On things they thought were cool.
She said they could draw pictures
Like in all the books they read,
But she said to be creative
And this is what his said:

"My baby rabbit...

Out of the Shadows - Hit Man
(read Part 1 first)

Woken by a sound, then reaches for his piece.
Startled from that faintest whisper, on the run from the police
Four hours sleep for this mysterious chap is normality,
Slips into his Armani suit, this being the usual formality.

Waiting, expressionless next to the hotel...

Finnegan Remembers
Finnegan Remembers….

Oh i can look and almost see,
My time in Ireland, verily,
Where I staggered drunken, oer the sod,
And had my way, perhaps a clod,
And fought the British see,

Finnegan, I was he,
who lived on taters merrily,
in Northern Ireland,
we weren’t free,
to be deported it was...

Little Joey
As little Joey looked up into his mommas face,
He said momma don’t cry as he held her hand in such a loving embrace.

He said angels have been coming and talking with me,
And telling me about where I’m going I wished you could see.

He told me...

Cousin Joey
Now theres a lot of Joeys
in my family tree,
but the one I used to
hang out with was
around the very same
age as me,
I enjoyed his company
immensely because
he was so funny,
being the first poet
in the entire family,
saying things that
didn't make a lot
of sense, but I couldn't
help...

The Puggles Dream
There was a cute puggle who snored up a song
When joeys hopped up bridging along,
Emu chicks joined with boom notes and grunts
Whilst dancing along with top wild stunts.

Penguins marched in forming a line
Tenors, Sopranos, Divas divine,
Bowerbirds trilled with whistles and squeaks
Then Aves had united...

Stories tall and fish will do
in Aus we caught a kangaroo

Premium Member Kangaroo
Meet my Kangaroo herd in Australian highlands,
The king of the herd is Don, very big and strong,
There are many females with little joeys in the pouch,
With little protection from the king on the mound.

Would I like to ride a male Kangaroo,
The rhythm of their hops,...
