Premium Member Sonnet Celebrating International Women's Day

With wings of golden starlight your spirits flare
Each woman burst forth a steadfast astral pyre
Your valiant souls are / defying / confining
      the tethered snare
Like distant suns that are piercing the boundless mire
With hearts unyielding you are shatter iron grates
Your unshackled wings where shadows once confined
And in your touch,
      love's caresses, gentle graces
A serenade of voices, together
      softly intertwined.

Through time's grand halls your histories reside
Your footprints pressing...
     on ever-shifting sands
With every single verse
     a truth you cannot hide
For you mend the world with...
     steady guiding hands
O gracious women, blessed with beauty /
     fierce and bold.
In every realm
      your being we cherish
            and behold.

Premium Member To Honor My Hero

To honor my hero.
    A wee superhero.
      Has shoplifted my heart
        Autistic, but so smart.

  Place him in shopping cart
    Grandma can we see toys;
      He makes such welcome noise.
         Look at that,

  Look at that.
    Look at the bubble,
     A bubble in a bubble.
        Bubbles going faster.

  My living-room a disaster.
    A wee superhero the master,
      He came into my life
In a time of bitter strife.

  My wee bug
    Welcomes with bear hugs.
      To honor my Hero
        A wee superhero.

Second Tribute Series, Fifth Poet)

(1.)
Poetry Gave Its Deep Rich Brilliance Unto Thee

Bard, what bright Light graced thy soft serenades
In late midnight hours, moonlight streaming down
Alas! With Time's fleeing flight, thy fame fades
Yet thy verse treasures gave thee world renown.

Bard, thy prowling ship upon open seas
Delivered thy Art, to this sad world please
Fate, its dark hand did thy youthful life take
For thy wife's honor, thee would not forsake!

Bard, from thy glory this poet now feels
Pains of sorrows at thy early demise
From thy fruited verse, this world so oft peels
In its beauty, words so precious and wise!

Poetry gave its deep rich brilliance unto thee.
As thy muse sent thee magnificent melodies.

(2.)
New Dawn, New Life, To Heaven Rose My Cry

Pray I, to One that made ground and blue sky
Giving us earth's beauty for Heaven's sake
With bounty that mankind can not deny,
Thus fallen on grassy greens so, Pray I.

By heavens, Life caresses soul in me
Yet in blackest blackness of darkest night
In my wayward youth, this I sought to flee
And into black blackness of darkest sea.

Pray I, for salvation before I die
And true to His grace, faith was reborn true
With promise of dear life a bounding tie
Thus dark went away and sweet thanks, Pray I.

New dawn, new Life, to Heaven rose my cry
And soon I heard an angel chorus sing
Into its sounding midst, I did thus fly
With sweet teardrops that fell from misty eyes.

Pray I, others this blessing from blue sky
And Love and Peace such gift, God truly brings
Dastardly road took, I shall not deny
As bowing my head and with joy, Pray I.

Premium Member Be Loyal

Be loyal whether things are going your way or not.
Unite with your fellow dwellers
Speak your mind
After you listen to their views
Take them seriously
You are in this together

Be loyal to your country, your family, and your friends
Do not allow anyone to put them down.
Stand up for what is right.
Show that you are listening,
And when you disapprove
Explain why in a kind and loving way.

Be loyal to your soldiers. Defend them and their assignments.
They are not given choices. They are given orders.
They follow them in good faith.
To keep the country healthy.
To allow you to enjoy your life
While they are possibly sacrificing theirs
In your honor.

Be loyal to your country’s mandates, and beliefs.
If there is something that needs to be changed,
Advocate.
But in a heartfelt, cooperative,
Wise and caring way.
Do not speak badly of your government or her policies.
Be loyal always.

We are as we were before,
But you inspire me more.

Any real poet knows you're with us or against us,
Together we're one.
The world will wonder what's wrong,
When our work here is done.

We honor the new,
We honor the old.
We do as we say.
We say as we're told.

We know the answer and it goes without saying,
Peace of mind in our work,
Moral compass not straying.

I have yet searched for your name but see you none the less,
I created this writing to honor your consistent quality,
I must admire,
I must Confess.

Oh, That Earth Wouldst So Truly Honor Thee
Dedicated To-
"The Great Unknown, Unsung Poets of the
- Past, Present And Future"

Oh, that earth wouldst so truly honor thee
You write poetic verse with such deep glee
As in glory-fruits reaped from your ink tree
Birth gentle winds blowing through land and sea.

Splash thee more, dear hope from your native tongue.
And gift world beautiful verse to be sung.

Inked pools born from candor and purest heart
Offerings of whispers that truth imparts
Defeating the dark which sets us apart
To gift more, fill up love's bountiful cart.

Splash thee more, dear hope from your native tongue.
And gift world beautiful verse to be sung.

Within thy soul and even thy sadness
Counter with blessed hope this world's madness
Shine with rhyming words, bringing on gladness
Yet ignore world's inglorious fadness.

Splash thee more, dear hope from your native tongue.
And gift world beautiful verse to be sung.

And through thy darkest sorrows gift anew
Heroic words that deepest dark breaks through
Gifts empathy, care many are thus due
For truth, darkness oft turns sky weeping blue.

Splash thee more, dear hope from your native tongue.
And gift world beautiful verse to be sung.

Oh, that earth wouldst so truly honor thee
You write poetic verse with such deep glee
As in glory-fruits reaped from your ink tree
Birth gentle winds blowing through land and sea.

Premium Member Men of Honor

Today the bite of frost nibbles
On icy dusk and rain-spun grass
When prayers glide of nighttime down,
As battle strikes your whispers yield
Through ambushed maze drilling around.
Yet heartbeats vow for honor, true
Enduring nights…freedom pursued.

Kismet of hope is in the air
While we all feel your longing thoughts
Miles away…sweet tidings declare
Your dreams fluttering in chilled fall
About scenes of love and dear home’s care.
The rising star a grain of gold
In moments brave soldiers behold.

Then victory blazes in red
Matching the robin as it sings
From soar of peace…from soar of might
A courage blessed through godly will
Heroes return as breaths alight.
The autumn lays her colors by
As wishes crown your promised sky.

Premium Member Butterflies and Moonbeams - Duo Rhyme In Honor of Mary Ports

(Duo rhyme in Honor of Mary Ports)

Butterflies & Moonbeams

Of things that inspire I will write
Whether things of day or by night
    Butterflies and silver moonbeams
    Upon the quiet water gleams
Azure heavens where a hawk screams
    Sunsets repainting awesome themes
    Trees shade meandering cool streams
Yellow Stone where old faithful steams
    Fireflies & double rainbow dreams
All made of magic so it seems
Enchantments entice my delight
With wonder I will dream tonight

Premium Member In Honor of You -

Invited into Her circle
of five points,one for each
of the qualities She crystallizes,
truth as fire, earth as nourishment,
body in water, lights in air, and ether as love,
in Her center a sacred thought having origin in primal purpose,

we embraced as immortals do,
mouth to ear and song to song,
mind to memory and wish to wisdom,
connecting with the ease of melody on morning's hope,

frollicing within the gamble of a galaxy grown mad from curiosity,
the path of the Prime Mover performs a pounce along our venerable vertebrae,
She widens a door which illuminates a portico, columns white marble and red veins,
tempered flames in low tremble make vigil to the death bed masks of ancestors,
who made glory a partner against multitudes of dangers, such as living without loyalty,
encouraged by Her gravitas,Her need for a hero,I stared into those vacant eyes
on the pedestals held upright by iron frames, and I heard them chant I must for Her,

made so lovely with a crown of moon glow,
I kissed this Woman's hand, heaven in my sight,
my oath to vindicate Her from profane might,
I awoke facing a mirror, believing in Her dearly,
my headgear fastened and plumed,
feathers of a hawk and eagle divinely sprout atop,
from then I only knew Her words, and a dreamy picture,
however,I trusted Her affection,I could live on Her meaning -

Premium Member Limerick To Honor a Calm Teacher

Know you are the absolute best,
The new kid has given a test.
You stayed calm cool, and collected,
So completely unaffected,
His childish behavior a test

We are watching you here at the school
Your resistance makes some of us drool.
He is almost on our last nerve,
Taking some around the last curve,
Yet, your calmness surrounds like a pool.

We implore you to please teach us your way,
It seems he is here and going to stay,
I think it is totally true,
Because his mother is new too,
His mother, superintendent, Miss Kay.

The Sowing---Repost In Honor of Black History Month

The Sowing

Upon the wind feasted hillside
The jagged edges of used rocks swell
With the fatless skin of babes and wenches
Below a field of blood, no less a Flanders Field

A continuous swell of rape roll like waves
In the pallid squalor of leaking huts wooden tales tell
The scars ironed in the backs and inner thighs
The voices crying with no listening ear
Blood shines bright in moon's glow sons birth upon the fields

For eons it seems men stack rape like barley and wheat
Small ones soft ones and inexperienced virgins too
Daughters bled away dignity men their respect
Born work and ravished in the fields
Where is their medal of bravery

Today the summer sun washes over the fields
Each ray eclipses the dark memories of sin
As the sons and daughters rise

Living the Dream: How the Society for Creative Aanachronism Was Born

We started, all of us, with a dream
A need to be more than we might seem
Add to our lives a bright, new shine
To honour those of an older time

Some few had gathered, one fair day
A party planned, a game to play
A passing fancy to recreate
The lives that have been lost to fate

The players, spent at party's end
Were loathe to join the world again
They wished that they might be so bold
To live as those from times of old

A game, a dream was born that night
And through the darkness spread its light
To many dreamers this dream spoke
And new ideas in them awoke

To re-learn skills, to practice art
And in the chivalry take part
To serve a King both brave and strong
A lady Queen inspiring song

To hear the voices of the bards
To take thy turn amongst the guards
To write the song a kingdom sings
To live with honour in all things

That is what the dreamers saw
The picture that they tried to draw
Though gaming was the simple goal
The dream now had a living soul

Now hundreds strong the armies stand
And face each other on the sand
But once the battle's fought and won
Both friend and foe all stand as one

They sing together of their homes
And bow to one another's thrones
Honouring the bond they share
The common dream that brought them there

The dream that draws us ever in
Calls us to gather once again
To play, once more, our 'let's pretend'
To live the dream that will not end

Premium Member In Honor of God

In "Honor of God" I will not be a White Racist,Black Racist,Red Racist,Yellow Racist,Brown Racist or practice Racism. God created us,Red,Yellow,Brown ,Black, and White, and we all are precious in his sight: I know that I am "NOT Wrong": I know I am right! "In "Honor of God" I will not be a "Racist"! In "dishonor of God the "Racist" functions,in the Church,in the Media,in the schools,in the police department,in the hospital,in the grave yard, and in many other places, and dishonors God by being a "Criminal by way of being a "Racist"!God has a unique ,and diverse "Creation",and that reality is factual ,and certain!! We see it right before our very eyes, and that makes us who are loving and kind very wise!! A "Racist'''' believes untrue lies that is embeded in their sick minds ,as they are fed lies through their "Eyes"!Unjustifiable Hatred is another name for a "Racist". It was a Sunday morning, and a sermon was being preached, and The Pastor was ready to teach:The Pastor got up and said:"IN HONOR OF GOD " MY CREATOR",I will not be a "RACIST". Eight people got up and left the church, and all eight of them seemed to be sick,as they stumbled out the door, and three of them fell to the floor. The Pastor of the church repeated his statement ,ans said:IN HONOR OF GOD WHO IS MY CREATOR I WILL NOT BE A RACIST OR PRACTICE RACISM. The Church said AMEN.

Premium Member A Very Memorable Christmas Present

** A Very Memorable Christmas Present **

Someone made an err::
Boxing Day ‘ere’s
Been the day of — not after.
What started as the greatest
Christmas ever, turned
Us from better to worse
As our tempers grew, altered
After our fingers were slid into
Those gift-wrapped firm gloves of leather,
Punching through the room’s air
At each other
With words roused from harsh to meaner,
‘Till our referee pup barked
To end our Round 1, forcing a turnover
Into creating a round of rich laughter.
Re-freshed, happier, remembering our
Proper manners appropriate to honor
Our Savior’s birthday…We resolved
A return trip to the store to trade
That shared present of boxing gloves for
A healthier, sturdy set of parallel bars.
