Best Haste Poems
Who walks into forever maudlin and seeking heights misplaced ?
What tortured memories, would mankind wish most undone, unsung?
When time's tide seeks to gather grace, with each painful thought displaced,
Where fullness bursts, how happy will those emptied heart-holds be once wrung?
Why waste the gift of life seeking solace with such unbridled haste.
I miss the peace of silent thought--
This worldly pace has grown so fast—
And in its wake that speed has brought
Us woes unknown throughout the past,
And now we find we have to face
A sea of troubles, deep and vast.
If we could only slow that pace
And find a means for its decrease,
Perhaps this unrelenting race
Might finally be made to cease,
And in that silence we might find
Some vestige of elusive peace.
For there at last may be divined
Creativeness of every kind.

How painful it is to fall
Mind I am lost
Please rescue me!
Haste! For stranded I stand
Upon shores bemused
Alongside the sea
Haste! Haste!
Lest I choose to swim
And lie beneath what no eye can see
Compare approach to “Heart, we will forget him!”
By Emily Dickinson
Sweet star storms the skies
the wake of sunrays' goodbye
in tender twilight
Mockingbird outside my window
sings cheerfully throughout the night,
while my harried song resonates
only in hours when the sun shines.
First the chugging of tea,
sounds of traffic on the way to work.
No matter how much is accomplished,
I never seem to catch up.
“Make haste,” the boss growls.
Fingers glide more quickly o’er the keyboard.
Deadlines, deadlines --
stop only for one deep breath,
How I envy the mockingbird,
carefree and welcome in my yard,
enjoying the garden I tend only on week’s end
when the time clock isn’t punched.
Pressure builds minute-by-minute,
hour-by-hour, day-by-day.
Who stops to smell flowers
while burning daylight for pittance pay?
Take me to another era
when families worked in fields together,
chores were enjoyed beneath bright rays
and modern times had not yet intruded.

No matter what I read
No matter what I said
The listener never stirred in bed
To all he just appeared quite dead
Eyes blank and always open
Not a word from him was spoken
Through tubes the young man would be fed
He never blinked
Just stared ahead
What more about him can be said
Two days ago he was to wed
No safety helmet on his head
His girlfriend held him by the waist
His motorbike zoomed off in haste
At break-neck speed they lost their luck
On the right they passed a truck
So what more can we say today
In this state he'll always stay
His lover now has walked away
So young she'll soon foreget the day
Another guy will soon appear
No longer will she shed a tear
Brother, why the haste
why are you so quick to bail
how life has made you frail
why art thou so lean in faith
Desires of sodom, you chase
till you wear and rot to waste.
The truths of life you dare not face
you cower behind the shell of race
and bequeath to it,the fortune of your days
Oh Sister, why the haste
this phase you crave
is soiled with fray
this course you chart
is fraught with chains
Are you numb to the flames;
that chars the face with pains
that lays in wait, in ways
unseen to sight and gaze
You fill your pate with tales of hate
and lose your fate in pits of vale
The weight of your plate
is filled with kills of kin
why the haste, brother
why the waste, sister?
No matter what I read
No matter what I said
The listener never stirred in bed
To all he just appeared quite dead
His eyes were always open
Yet not a word from him was spoken
Through tubes the young man world be fed
He never blinked
He stared ahead
What more about him can be said
Two days ago he was to wed
No safety helmet on his head
His girl friend held him by the waist
His motor bike zoomed off in haste
At great neck speed they lost their luck
On the right they passed the truck
So what more can we say today
In this state he'll always stay
His fiancee just walked way
Never to forget the day
Maybe it was time to pray.
My soul weeps and my heart bleeds,
We seem to have lost our core creeds.
Youngsters are now in a very hot haste,
not to wield wealth, but to wine and waste...
Character has been cocooned in a coffin,
True beauty gasps for breath in a bin.
Our ladies are weapons of mass distraction,
Men's rod roam around for mass destruction.
Women, weed and wine are the new normal,
purpose, purity and passion seem abnormal.
Men of integrity are long gone in deep sleep,
The one who upholds truth is now a black sheep.
Power, possession and prodigality now prevail,
money, music and madness seem to avail...
integrity is stupidity when men with money speak,
nobility become nonentity when rascality peak.
Hen now crows because cocks are silent,
Giants bow when greedy ants get very violent.
Wake up folks, the battle line is drawn uphill...
We shall win this war till justice stands still..

OFT TIMES I DO NOT WANT
MYSELF, HEAR TO SPEAK
FOR WORDS UTTERED IN HASTE,
ARE OFTEN REGRETTED AFTER
TO WRITE WORDS DOWN
ON PAPER, IS TO GIVE YOURSELF TIME
YOUR WORDS AND THOUGHTS,
PUT TO ORDER, FOR REASON TO SOUND
FOR WORDS CAN HURT
WHEN SAID AT THE WRONG TIME
IN TRYING YOUR WILL TO ASSERT
THEN IT IS BEST STILL TO STAY, SO THAT PEACE CAN CHIME.
1 My fellow, my friends,
We are gathered in ends
To our formerly path
Of individuality
And each one share now
A lane of their road.
2 Oh, the array
Of trails we display
I view them all,
As gold threads sewed
In the clothing of Awe
3 For I am aware,
Hence we shall beware,
That even majestic architectures,
Do hold the prone to be clawed
And be designed by those
resting black crows.
4 Every walk we tread
We are getting not far
To be gathered again
Then bid bitter farewells
Going farther towards,
5 The love that linked
Our paths from the past
This do not deserve
to be compared
For ours are the best in its kind!

Love is true, no problem here,
no agitation, stress,
no words that tip the applecart
and leave us in distress.
Unless we're careful they will come
to set the cat among the pigeons,
dump our lives to disarray
and counteract our fond expressions.
In a flash we use expressions,
robbing Peter to pay Paul,
no regard for truthfulness
as pride precedes the fall.
Words in haste, and acts of malice
kill our equanimity,
murder love, destroy the beauty
we have crafted tenderly.
All at once we're lost and lonely
grasping straws out on a ledge,
either way our lives could tumble,
'til we pull back from the edge,
and fulfill our fondest wishes,
indiscretions pass us by,
close to danger, indecision,
glad to smile and not to cry.
Haste pick up your pace,
devour fast food for a taste,
trip over shoelace,
try not to make a mistake,
in our labyrinth rat race.
