The Godfather

I’m a man, just simply a man;
once a child with no other distinction.
I am neither your first son, nor last.

I cannot alter what God has planned,
nor stop sun to shine,
nor stop the rain he’s cast.

So, I seek a solution to the paradigm
of angst and joy of life,
of the person I should be now.

Though life’s full of mystery and of misery,
you were there to give me hope and dignity,
no wonder I always love to be with you.

But, when God decided...
we couldn’t say, “No!”
You left me with his everlasting glory.

As time passes, I realize the greatness of
love and joy on the day of my friend’s son,
I became like you, a loving godfather.

A Letter To My Godfather

I return my ungratefulness
for all your help and tenderness
that dwarf my potentials from incipient
and i here boast my lament

for you are the pilot of my lameness
a gift and a hope of darkness
the weather is now inclement
for my tall horns of incompetent

for all my walls are build with weakness
i should have known the gladness
of hard work, spend and be spent
but i trust in fig men for a tent

this is your legacy of unfruitfulness
for me to succeed after your likeness
but i reject you today and resillent
because in real world your name has no
reverent

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

Fairy Godfather -Double Bussokusekika-

Such a lazy man
All he does, is sit around,
Doesn't do his job
Godmother does all the work,
He sits around and complains
About kids wanting wishes.

Runs from the kitchen
The commercials are over
Sits on the sofa
Nachos, pretzels, beer, he has
He's looking for the remote
Time to watch the football game.

Godfather

Godfather

A rigid neck that looks forward without turning
Till the face is flat pummelled by angry elements
Whose twinkly eyes neither blink nor steal a hood
In case, in a split second, humanity is left insecure.
Whose time to eat is not on his busy schedule-
Morsel may briefly quieten voice to teach Piety.
Would I, therefore, find any fault with that stoicism
Or in his static quick march- marching at a halt
(Until there is a hole enough to ooze a cool pat!)
His momentary reprieve; gone to some chores
Might subject the brood to threat unthinkable.
For his perpetual presence and open guidance
Is as assuring the billboard pointing the Way!

Dr. Ram Mehta, Billboard in the wet, cold rain
Who holds post to, once again, direct others
Soaked by the cold rain, yet with a heart satisfied
For the Duty to save others and not save yourself!
Should, godfather, a blink you chance or steal
Cares of this World may, by stealth, quietly visit
And warp our convictions with wicked murmurs
Murmurs that drip honey which sips into hearts
Turning us into a heap of salt for looking backwards!

My eyes I do pledge to look no any other direction
Except to the way by your long finger is pointed
And, to fawn on the Spirit that nurtured you this long
With bonhomie, discernment and poetic prowess!
Prayer with no end I utter beseeching, godfather,
On that Day, to inherit the Sceptre you’re holding!

***Dedication to one and only Dr. Ram Mehta for the invaluable guidance his sublime poems bestow.

The Godfather - a Godfather Born

A table set for three
                                           Permission to be excused
                                               A dish of veal served

                                                  Behind the toilet
His revenge is set and planned
                                                  Back to the table

                                                 He sits in silence
As train passes by, he stands
                                                   A table for one

The Godfather Part Three the Best One

When I noticed the contest backed by John Heck
I just had to enter it, my house is a wreck.
The cleaning can wait I said to myself
My husband, the dinner as well, on the shelf.

A rhyme about movies would be fun to write
I'll sit here all day and maybe all night
Before I remember the last one I saw
Without interruption - was it Joey ZsaZsa?

Godfather Part Three, I remember it well
It was four in the morning. I was in a hotel.
I had seen bits and pieces over the years
Andy Garcia, the Pope, and the tears!

I stayed up all night and had breakfast in bed
Check-out at noon... my eyes filled with dread
Get it together, get packed and get out
And that is the movie that I'll write about!

Now what is the title of this movie poem?
It ended up being about going home.
Four hours of film and all that she wrote
Was a rhyme about check-out that mentioned the Pope.

I'll call it The Godfather, Part Three, the best one.
Since most of you've seen it at least in re-run,
I don't have to go into much more detail
Just copy and paste, push send and e-mail!

Dear Godfather

(true feelings none fiction)

Dear Godfather Ernest Pinckerly.
The day you died when I was young was horrible.
My life had changed ever since. The memory of you is like a blur all I remember is your name and being with you from that short moment.
My father came to visit. Before I knew tears and cries of your death happened. Your beautiful white home came to it's silence. My tricycle and playground I left behind and more ,to go live with my older sister I found out about in last minute.
Till this day my life haven't been the same, went through so much since after your death.
My father doesn't speak of you.but I never bother to asked for observing the situation already gave me my answer.
I write this letter to you to release these memories. To let you know I always miss you.

Golden Godfather Rises

Rivers flow
in volumes and refrains
the shadows of black phoebes
chasing waves
as they ripple
in quiet tones
a majestic scenery
tainted by involuntary lullabies
of atonement

A Letter To My Son Godfather

(none fiction)

I have no regret when I made you become Godfather
of my son.
For you have done more for me than both of my parents of
What they should of done.
You welcomed me with open arms without knowing much
about me, for you followed your heart and I am glad you did.
Because of you I know what Christmas felt like, you never miss a year without blessing me and my son with presents.
I miss your letters and your children book you always send to me and tell me always to read to him.
Of course I kept my word and always do.
When we finally met when you had the time my decision was
For sure to make you Godfather.
Best decision indeed I ever made a high rank next to God
MR. Christopher Bell me and your Godson say thank you for all the things you done when we was at your care.
I've learned from you it's not all about parenting.it's also about bonding. I feel it all and now I understand the meaning of being a parent and more. I am sharing every moment with my son all the things I didn't have from my parents. For all I ever got from them was abused, neglect from my mother, and abandonment and more.
You are a blessing in my life when we was at your care. I would never forget you for your are a true saint.

Godfather

leading the mob
you come to find out some truths about certain situations
being the best man for the job
in more ways than one
your two sides to this civil war is no longer necissary

Allow me to explain

first I'll explain your spiritual situation
jesus was a threat and a promise to your god
my son
disguised as the meaning of life
to give your creater a chance to do the right thing
kane my bodyguard in a sense, living the lie that he would help your god rule me
in his mind there was nothing above him

As a spiritual family among you the whole time
we did the best we could to make up for the many things he was lacking
a world tortured by endless ridiculousness
not even a family man, for we were prepared to assist him in his self discovery
a world blackmailed by their own good intentions that never paid off

The angels in heaven have now been trained
first off he will be put into a sleep by what i have come to know as gabrielles dance
he will be sentenced to walk among you as a lost cause
suffering from the lack of a free will

try as often as you want to work together to manipulate that through your music and media
the angels surrounding him with this dance keep him safe
to never break the chain
pay attention this will be proven to you
in this story the damage that was done in your attempt to locate the lost cause
was blind leading the blind
and now you are more aware

Godfather

This is my religion
This is my faith
This is my church

This is where I pray
This is where I lay
You are what I seek
For you are the father who gave me birth

My father who art in heaven
Hallowed be the name
Thy kingdom come
The will be done
On earth as it is in heaven

This is my prayer
My cross to bear
For when I reach
Its your love and forgiveness i seek

Godfather Part 2

Breaking it down to you
that a gullible god walks among you
on his journey of self discovery and one to find god in a sense
in the end it is mankinds best interest to utilise this spiritual robot
to create something that he was not before
his family will be going first
the angels will keep him seperate from the one thing that can break this curse
me, i can walk around freely and never be a part of this until the end

When the time comes for your turn to interact with this being
you will be aware of this
a strange enlightenment of how to work with this genie
whose rules are constantly changing
your life will seem a little bit unfair
but not as near as unfair as things have been for you
try as hard as you can to fight this, the cancellation of your sex life may be an indicator
by playing the game on focusing on doing the right thing
you will be rewarded by this spiritually, mentally, physically, sexually

for the time being you on the scene of this supposed crime
will be aware of your shifting luck
but will not be able to pinpoint it on the lost cause that granted that shift
the angels are extremely good at this deceptive trick
this is a selfish selfless experience, something for you and something for another
you won't be able to ask me of his whereabouts
I won't know...
the selfless game we play of doing the right thing we are a team in this endeaver
and the angels are keeping score
which will be rewarded
eventually something may go awry, and the game starts over
you may consider me a physical doorway into this experience
when you see me you may think here comes trouble
and as fate would have it, you will have to focus on changing my luck
for me to open this door

My Godfather Was He

A monstrous man was he
Broad shoulders and weighing a ton
Stood as tall as a cedar tree
What kind of a man was he?

He had wonderful stories to tell
Of his youth and when times were swell
A passion for food and a bottle of booze
He sat in his chair slowly to unwind

His voice was as smooth as whisky
Inside a ferocious tiger waiting to devour
His family he kept at bay, wanted to alone stay
The man to me was a mystery

Heard a lot of painful stories about him
Greed for wealth and neglect of health
He lived life on his own terms
Till he finally bade us farewell

Premium Member Godfather of Soul James Brown (Swap Quatrain)

He was the hardest working man
Show business was his divine plan
Sang, danced, smiled with a buzz
The hardest working man he was

He twisted and turned with a split
Even made it into a dance skit
As the bottom of his shoes burned
With a split he twisted and turned

“Get on the good foot” was his kick
Throwing his cape made his fans ticked
Like “papas brand new bag” he put
His kick was “Get on the good foot”

He has touched the entire world
“Get on up” even young and old
The world will miss his music much
The entire world he has touched

Comments: Each stanza in the Swap Quatrain has four (4) lines. The first line
