Premium Member The Elevator

Walls are closing in,
everything seems small
the space is diminishing
heart is racing
struggling to breath
it’s so warm

I need to get out,
crowd seems to get bigger
everything is closing in on me
I’m probably going to die in here
somebody save me
someone open the door,

flickering lights a threat
that darkness is imminent
feeling alone
feeling lost
if only the lights
would go back on,

if only I took the stairs
instead of the elevator
I would not be stuck here
in the dark, waiting
with my life being in someone else’s hands…

Gone With the Wind

Love, when I confessed my love you turned away,
turned to another, I have no will left to stay.
Your words they crushed me I could never know why.
Can't you love me like you love her, over you I cry.
The other men, they never knew me, never could understand.
As we were friends, couldn't you love with a ring on your hand.
My eyes are red and weary, tell me what is really inside.
Do you love me like a lover, or shall I wither as I have died.
tell me now, what can I do to have your affectionate embrace.
Tell me what I can change, and all the trouble I will erase.
Tell me Love...

Friend, when you professed your love, I had to turn away,
I gave my ring to another therefore I could not stay
My mind was a mess, it was being put to the test
You had me impressed. feelings I could not digest
Your love overheard. my heart had been stirred
No way I could go back on my solemn word
All the night my tears fell, thinking of what I had lost
Only wonders of the line I should have crossed
My heartbeat has dimmed, not wanting to live
Seeking for a lover, a life to give
I beg of you dear, stay close, don't disappear
To you I swear, my love for you is clear

By the triangle of love, each to his own has sinned.
And the lonliness of longing heart, gone with the wind.

Endless Paths

My head is twisted and
confused, there are paths to
ignore and paths to choose.
I sit within and contemplate,
for I cannot go back on my
chosen fate.
Some I must run and others I
crawl, a few I must pause,
before I trip and fall.
I cannot close my eyes in fear,
only with my heart can I hear.
I move to the left and look to
the right, my mind is a maze
with no end in sight.
I can't be too hasty and I can't
be too slow, each step is a
choice, my rhythm and flow.
I shan't forget my biggest
hurdle, each path has its own
confusing riddle.
Whichever I choose to lead or
ignore, affects myself and those
in my core.
There is only one beginning, so I
can't go astray, but the end is
limitless and so I must pray.

I pray for guidance and for
faith, I pray I keep my strength
and wait.
I pray I choose the right path
for me, and hope its best for all
to see.
I pray for choices I've already
made, I pray for decisions I've
yet to say.
I pray to the heavens that the
life I live, is a blazing path of
love to give.

Premium Member Bright Star Rose

"Bright Star Rose"

Bright Star shone on the bright side far beyond the dark side
Bright Star let the dark slide between and underneath
the cracks burning in the road well travelled under the Others' soles

and Bright Star’s soul levitated much higher above the ground

from the base of those Other empire state stories' eyes
steadfast in their lofty realms hived in all those lost bodies
united in a bad bad dream

and Bright Star soft falling mask of eremite melting
rose higher and brighter than bright
and kissed the highest hidden brightest star

blazing in the darkest night's dark indigo blue sky

and Bright Star riding the waked forever in a sweet unrest
outshone the singularity of the eclipsed
enraptured and embraced as Love is

in the Hidden's timeless breast

Candide Diderot. ‘24

"In all configurations
The curve is the thing that can go back on itself
Over and over
As the stars turn around each other
And light the way for travelers
Who come along through time
Looking for that one that could bend the path just so
To take us home

And light shines
And light shines

Around the table, where they all sit smiling
Hands with fingers moving as they tell their stories of being lost
Then found
No matter what the place, they saw the face
Of one who showed the way along the road well-traveled..."

Premium Member My Back Against It

My back is against the wall

Your memory lingers amongst the shadows

I want to gather you to me

But like a cool mist on a spring night

Memories of you slip through my fingers

My back is up against it now

I'm alone and it's meant to be

I made all those promises

Swore I'd make it right

You told me it would all be ok

I see you leaving and I don't blame

You had promised as well

I see you walking alone and searching

Looking for answers

Your back is held proud

My back is filled with bone

I knew I had it in me

You were right all along

It's too late now for the keeping

But I hope you know I'm fulfilling

I plod through the shadows

Your memory my compadre

It warns me and foreshadows

If I am about to make a wrong turn

Thoughts of you steer me home

I'm back and the night

Turns slowly toward the dawn

The sun warms me and helps my journey

I keep my word now unbroken

It's always been with me

Words and my memory

Whispers that everything will be fine

Can't go back on them now

I see you amidst the shadows

Watching me and waiting

Oops

I’m not sure where an apology comes from
And beyond that
I am certain I have no comprehension for ‘sorry’
I mean that literally
I can’t borrow enough question marks
Truly. . . I dropped the ball between you & me. . . I did
When I tried to go back on something I said
That may have disturbed you
Most certainly
I lazy’d myself to your long ago mouth
‘Cuz what I kissed not long ago
left you without a word

Premium Member Is the Test Over

Lord can do anything that He wants to
And it's best that you know that
Did I know that?
No I challenged Him all the time
Until I know
And that is when the test starts
Or shall I say stop?
Stop and start, who knows?
But I know that I won't be challenging Him
I know that I would be taking the same test over and over
Until I know
So there - unless you want to take the test over and over
Then do it
Do you think God will go back on what He gave?
Let's see, okay?

Never Swallow Your Word

Know who you are
Know what to doing
Know the right thing to doing
Determine where you are going
Focus on your doing
Your future is in your hand
Never swallow your word

Trust only yourself
People promise and fail
Believe in them not
Encapsulate to them your difficulty
They wretch whit you beyond your imagination
Encroach upon your time, your way, your day and our life
By telling you to come back latter
Deride you when you left
Never swallow thy word

Go back on your not thus
You are the master of your will
Make no allay of your will
Grope of what you see so high
The bliss of your future so high
Never swallow word

The mind of the people so rest
On the leader they elect
For the fact they trust with their heart
Those are the political elite
Who avowed for the public their agenda and their right
Scheming the country economy the peoples right
Hoarding the country economy aboard
Impoverished brothers and sister in home land
Swallow the oath they made to their land
Boosting the economy of white land
With their **** at home their head aboard
They let their will to govern them
With the selfish interest they have
Never swallow your word

You that are congenial with them
In a way or the other
Promise and never fulfil
And restricted your rightful did
You have swallowed you word
Never swallow your word

Premium Member No Break From You

I am tired of all this b s
So here it is God
From now on You can do anything You do
And say anything You say
And I don't give a damn
You think I care?
Well I am going to show You who cares
It's always something
One thing after another
I could never catch a break
Well break time is right now
I am on break
Break with You
Break because I can't cut any craps
Break because I can't do any s
Break because it's break time
And I had it
Break because anything I do is never going to be enough
Grand enough
For your approval
Well I don't need it
And I don't want it
Good riddance
I just wish You never want me to go back on my words
Because I don't wanta
You hear what I say?

Now, It's Time To

Hello, dearest students !
I can imagine that
You have spent
A nice and pleasant
Summer vacation time

Now, it’s time to turn back at school.
Now, it’s time to go back on the road
Of studies, to prepare your future life.
A future that will be full of joy and creativity.

Now, it’s time for you to find out again
All your fellow and all your teachers
Dearest students…don’t be so sad
For having left all your fun summer buddies !

I’m sure (i and i wish) what
You’ll be living it again and more…
Other good times in one year.
Now, it’s time to wake up,
You’re back at college !

Humorous Brooklynism

I was driving down Eighteenth Avenue in Bensonhurst
in my scash-a-bang Chevy Chavalier...and I was having a wallear for a hero,
but I didn't wanna wait on line like those noisy kids from Mexico;
I tried to jump the line, but duh tall, mean-looking boss yelled at me,
" Get back on line, skinny molink...I don't like dis kinda of weisenheimer...
you're just another duh-ta-duh! " I wa so hungry I could have eat'n a cow,
and want'd give him a piece of my silly mind! " Oh, my God...he sounds like those tough
dudes from The Sopranos! " You got a loud mouth, wack! " I yell'd back
" Don't you mess with a goomba! I said with the loudest voice " Oh, my God,
you get me so mad...I just wanna my meatballs hero and go! "
The chubby man with a face fins said angrily, " Hear me out...don't you tawk to me
like dat, I axeya in a nice way, so go back on line and wait
like dey do! Don't you laugh at me like I'm tell' you a wacky joke!"
He freezes my words...I can't tawk and with a huge hero
in my hand, I quickly run back to my scash!

Translation:

I was driving down Eighteenth Avenue in Bensonhurst
in my-beat-up Chevy Chavalier, and I had a craving for a sanwich,
but I didn't want to wait in line like those noisy kids from Mexico!
I tried to jump the line, but the tall, mean-looking boss yelled at me,
"Get back on line, skinny guy...I don't like this kind of wise guy...you are
just another idiot! " I was so hungry, I could have eaten a cow,
and wanted to give him a piece of my silly mind!" " Oh, my God...he sounds like those tough
dudes from The Sopranos! " " You got a loud mouth, wacko! " I yelled back,
"Don't you mess with a clown!" I said with the loudest voice " Oh, my God,
you get me so mad...I just want my meatballs sandwich and go!" The chubby man
with the moustache said angrily, " Hear me out, don't you talk to me like that...
I'm asking you nicely, so go back in line and wait like they do!
Don't you laugh at me like I'm telling you a crazy joke!"
He freezes my words...I can't talk and with a huge hero
in my hand, I quickly run back to my old-beat-up car!!

Faraway

Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
I thought getting into my vehicle to part,
my innards could hardly contain themselves,
as I pulled out of the driveway in the dark,

Going down the interstate feeling like a free bird,
my cage lately being anything but like home on the range,
too many discouraging words makes one feel depressed,
and too many cloudy days with the on and off rain,

Driving faraway so I can spend some time alone,
thinking of poems and my family issues at home,
picking up a beautiful shell on the beach and holding it to my ear,
feeling for a fleeting moment like a child without any cares,

The shell acted like a direct lifeline to God,
whispering for me to keep praying to Him but to go back on home,
so with tears in my eyes I realized staying faraway wouldn't solve anything,
instead I'd go home like a prodigal and try to iron out everything.

Either Or

Two choices were made on two birthdays
One chose the rope,
the other chose the blade
Wickedness was full frontally displayed,
lying vanity's rear end led the parade
Kill, kill again
the marching band played
Pharaoh and Herod,
the only two names in the Holy Bible
said to have a birthday
They gave a feast and gathered all their friends,
got drunk on power
and wanted to taste blood
Pharaoh had a man imprisoned for three days in a cell,
he was scared as hell
after Joseph told him it wasn't gonna end well
He told the chief baker that he was gonna get hung ...
on the king of Egypt's birthday
Three days later, he got summoned
by Pharaoh, who then gave him the rope
And thus, his body swung
just as Joseph foretold
A prophet's song will always be sung
Herod gave a feast on his birthday also, and invited his friends too
He loved getting drunk on power,
and he liked tasting blood as well
He'd been wanting to kill John the Baptist,
whom he had locked up in a dungeon cell
John had told him and his brother's wife
things they didn't want to hear
They had a choice to make:
shut John's mouth or cover their ears
Herodias told her daughter to do
a nasty, dirty dance at the feast
Get her step daddy worked up
and he would make a vow to her publicly
Herod would give her anything she asked
while in the throes of throbbing desire
Herodias told her to ask for John the Baptist's head,
Herod won't go back on the vow he just said
He had to show all of his men gathered
that he was a man of his word
And if cutting off someone's head was what it took,
then he was a man who had the steely nerve
Herod was not afraid to make his sins grow larger,
so he granted a wicked birthday wish,
and brought John the Baptist's head on a silver charger
Herod and Pharaoh
were two bloody birthday men
Who when given a choice,
either or,
life or death ...
their birthday decision was made
One chose the rope,
the other chose the blade
Judgment now awaits them,
as they rest together in their rotting grave

Wants and Needs

What we want is -
Not always what we need
But what we need is not
Always what we want
Which is more so important

Do they actually go hand in hand
Like if if we did not recognise bad
How would we know what is good
Like one believes god or the devil
Like having a plus without a minus

Separating one from the other?
Seems a bit of a head doa, at times
Decisions yeah all these decisions
But is it possible to really separate
Your wants from your needs?

When you want something so bad
That you are willing to do anything
But what if you need something
You then have to stop and think
About what it is that comes first

Your wants or is it your needs?

Probably makes no sense this idea had for some time though Im going back on
old writes updating a bit with this more of a manifesto but also trying not to ryhme
unlike others or though with some others like fate and coruiosity suck to a diffrent pattern
same as with you ill be and others currently working on mother earth some of the last few writes
ive taken or drawn from a big epic one i wrote that I put on here before chrismas but scapped
at time as I thought to much content so my last few wrirs are drawn from this
ut if i had not of come on soup in first place then probably would not have had the insperation to go back on old writes
And of course write anything new WRITTEN BY MY SELF DAVIDSCOTT MARCH 2013

Premium Member It's In the Woods

The ancient wood is this way
Look there is a sign

This old house and it's grounds are open to the public
Most of the time

What's made us shut the gates
What's made us keep the public away

It's present in the dark wood
That's all I have to say

The old gates have rusted iron
Yet, they do not squeak

The track into the wood is eerie
But we'll go and take a peek

Stop, look there in the dell
There, sat on the stump

A man sat in battle dress
From centuries ago

He's eating some food
Let's go have a word

Excuse me sir I didn't know
That a battle day it is

He looks at us confused and low
Yes, battles what it is

Please sir, do tell who your commanding officer is and where he can be found
He's way over on the other field, just off the battle ground

Did your enemy come to his knees in the battle fought?
Enemy was our countrymen who disobeyed the law

One more question sir before you go back on the battlefield
What year is this and who is your King or Queen?

You fool, you see the boots I wear, the sword of steel I carry
The year is 1644, Charles is my King, I'm needed at the front

You say that you've killed your countrymen, is that where you now go?
He turns and stands and looks at us, then starts to walk back.

He stops and stares and then with a smile
He confirms his role in death

Then turns and walks into the wood
Disappearing without a trace.
