The gaudy beauty of the villas with
new money blazons on the pediments,
the Moon over the garden, the sea breeze,
orchids in bloom - they're all the elements

of the confusing game to lure me to
a point of no return. The sweetest lies,
the jewelry of tears, big and true
enough to kiss them - that's what underlies

your game of love. Please, add a little more
of candlelights reflected in your eyes,
a nightingale, a bit of the Dalmore*,
a swarm of cupids in the starry skies,

et voilà! Before this little verse
comes to its final stanza, I will bring
at your sweet feet the whole universe
with a tamed star of the engagement ring.

You checkmate me… I hope, my fiancee,
will never know I played at giveaway.

* A brand of whiskey.

…….a lot to giveaway

Nothing is sweeter than restored faith,
as too, the restored hotplate, the crashed computer
now renewed by the turn of a screw.
The electrician, the technician who overthrew such
arrogant technology, and me faithless, yet

I remember, time standing still, eternal,
 Summer’s afternoons, in boarding school
left with only paper, scissors and glue and
 the enchanted worlds that grew

Childhood is a lot,
too much to giveaway for this
complicated adulthood, never to find that child
 the little lost pilgrim –
 her inventive-ness.

I look through these trinkets
You've collected since birth
I'm left here to wonder
Do they have any worth

People didn't matter
For them you had no use
It was things you cared for
people you gave abuse

Your life partially lived
Didn't end soon enough
You created pain
In the pursuit of stuff

Dead as a doornail
your things left behind
Given away to others
Now in death you are kind

He threaded a hand through her long blonde hair

She shifted from one foot to stand entranced

Their eyes locked together, a constant stare

Grey/green eyes, his sensuous lips enticed

Everything changed within, soul sacrificed

As she pressed both hands to her cheeks

Could such a love develop within weeks

Her heart and mind in a constant turmoil

Smiling, a knowing louche grinning he leaks

Burst bubble, releasing doubt to uncoil

Thank God... the taunting is diminished,
Because that is not what life is all about,
We are meant to connect and give but you made this all about yourself,
Maybe if you realized from the door that that was the key to open your heart,
Instead of allowing your fears to fester for years and studying to distract from the start,
You obsessed and spent all your time searching for love through books and what culture could define,
Thinking that you could easily pasify your fears instead of giving of yourself to find,
And when I say giving I mean sharing your heart and the fears that stand in your way,
Because a book on a shelf can only inform your heart, it can't take those fears away,
I am here to take the pacifier out of your mouth, and that is why you struggle with me,
And this is why you're drawn to everything I say because in your heart you just want to be free,
And maybe one day you'll understand that I have only told you the truth,
Because everyone else seems to think that you're perfectly fine and you accomplished to have everyone fooled,
The fears of this world do not define you, and don't allow your pride to get in the way,
Because in the end your image won't matter...it will be did you give your heart away,
Because ultimately your heart is not your own, it belongs to Him,
And giving it away is not depleting yourself because He replenishes you from within,
I'm so glad I openly shared whether it's good or bad,
Because in the end my heart is free, and my Father is all that I have,
I trust He sustains me no matter what, no matter what this life has to offer,
Nothing or no one on this earth could ever compare to the love of my Father,
