Best Flushes Poems

The Light Shall Overcome the Night

When you find yourself alone in the shadows
Void of peace and tricked by deceit,
Know that light flushes out the dark
And there's a light deep within your heart

If you find yourself in a crowd blind of clear sights,
Remove yourself from their company, and find some light

It will always be darkest before dawn
So prepare yourself a light
Because darkness will surely come

For shadow shrouds over everyone and everything,
Never are you alone when the night comes to cling

We all share the same sun and the same moon
But with life comes fire, let us use it to banish the present gloom

Together, when we all contribute to the fire
We can create warmth and huddle around the campfire
Until this present darkness expires

Some may be lost within the pitch black, and absent day
Some may even run wild in search of prey

But know this..
Within your heart can start a spark,
The smallest fire can give birth to soaring flames
So bright you might even forget the darkness even came

The light shall overcome the night, breaching through the skies
So hold fast to your light, whatever it may be
A candle, a torch, a lantern, or even the full moon shining across the seas and stars

GOD never gives us more than we can handle
So hold strong to your BLAZING candles

A Walk With the Birds

Slowly spring sun caresses the land
As kowhais will softly provoke
Flushes of yellow to gently expand
Their buds of the season uncloak
Helping bellbirds escape from winter’s last choke.

Methodical beats of wood pigeon wings
Whoosh thru the quiet spring air.
Melodious trills as tuis’s sweetly sing
Fantails flitter, with hardly a care
While bush robins cheekily dare.

Fragrance of earth sweetens the breeze
New lambs adventure and race
Dragonflies linger, then floating past trees
Whio dart up the river with grace
My core just idolizes this place.

I climb up the mountain out of the trees
A kea, the comedian of the highland flies past
Does a sharp turn, lands on a boulder to tease
It’s green, blue and red feathers contrast
Their intelligence and pranks unsurpassed.

Day turns to evening; a morepork issues its call
A mournful sound that echoes the night
I descend in the darkness at the pace of a crawl
Then the hoarse cry of a kiwi just out of my sight
I'm relaxed. One day with the birds and I’m no longer uptight.

Write Now : Write Onnnnn !

The challenge was to write and write
Then write and write and write , all right !
So I wrote and wrote and wrote , as planned .
It was , oh so quick ; it was in short-hand .
It was multi paged and all I needed .
I can write short-hand , but I just can't read it .
So , it might be poetry , or it could be prose .
Perhaps multi haiku , no one knows .
Sonnet , pure , in perfect rhyme
Or out of sync , and not in time .
Perhaps words of love , or maybe hate .
Or the annoying sound of a banging gate .
Sweet pleasantries , like morning smiles
Or the painful itch of bulging piles ?
It's written down in the secret code
Of leafy lanes and country road
Wild boggy fields , with waving rushes.
Or cranky couples , coping with hot flushes .
I can't explain this sorry tale
I feel the words , but they're not in braille .
Sad to say that , " that is that " .
Now I wish I could trottle Matt
As I sit in tears of tormented zest
Trying to finish words for this damned contest !

( This piece was written in 5 days , 8 hours , 7 minutes and 24 seconds ... make that 25
seconds ... sorry 26 ... CUT & FINISH .. ok 27 seconds .......

When You Get Close To Me

When you get close to me
I feel life within my soul
No walls to climb
No bridges to cross
Our souls best friends
My heart synchronized with yours
Beating as one
Unguarded
I entrust it to you to keep safe

When you get close to me
My skin flushes
Expectant of your touch
My heart races in anticipation
A forty year old teenager
Dancing with you in the rain
Laughter and smiles aplenty
Kissing your tender lips meant only for me
Every second spent with you
A precious new memory made

When you get close to me
I feel pure love
Never felt this intensity before
So deep and so innocent
Our love is completely absolute
You are my life
My reason to breathe
I am here now and for always
I am here and I give you my all

Premium Member Celebrating Lush of Spring

As winter twigs drift from the oak
And in between, the flakes evoke
The pulsing bid of snow's adieu,
While lilies wake from a glossed hue.

Then petals frolic in lush grace
Enhancing the aisles with rich displays;
That when at last, in twirls content
Spring bursts into full view, her scent.

Where rows of blooms parade on course
Her varnished tone flushes ashore;
And thrusting through the lustrous sky
The hums of love sweetly reply.

In all its fired intensity
She leaves me wanting for more spree;
When lips bestow a moonlit kiss
Could her July entice a sweet bliss?

A breathless realization—
A piercing pain to the heart,
     To the gut—

Low moaning in an
    Utterance of disbelief
Infiltrates the body's senses.
Smoke billows, yet there is no fire,
Just an opaque veil that’s slowly lifted
From sorrowful eyes
    Where flooding begins.

Deeds made bare
Requires reprehensible restraint.
As anger flushes furiously,
A fire rages out of control—
Searing, scorching, killing trust,
Destroying any semblance of caring.
A glacial numbness replaces fire—

Then—a drowning in the melt.

We Have a Problem

Communication has gotten erratic,
there's a lot of outside interference
Aluminum yawning creates constant static
I can't hear you ... can you hear me?
Stonewalls separate us,
frequent bathroom stalls
breaks the mood, flushes the trust
How did this happen to us?
I'd be the first to admit, we have a problem
Calling Houston, code red: Alpha, delta, sand, fox
Our love has become stale,
left unattended for too long in the marital breadbox
Inaction is squeezing the life out of us
Anaconda divorce sounds fatal
Alpha, delta, sand, fox ---
Our marriage is falling at terminal velocity,
time is speeding up on the self-destruct clock
We have a serious problem, dear
Do you hear me talking, tell me you can hear
We have us a critical problem,
and we both need to try and figure it out,
time is ticking down on the self-destruct clock
We have a big problem here
Calling Houston, code red:
Alpha, delta, sand, fox
Anaconda divorce sounds fatal
Alpha, delta, sand, fox
We're headed for a crash landing
Calling Houston, code red:
Alpha, delta, sand, fox
This marriage is almost dead
Alpha, delta, sand, fox
Unless we find the missing answers in the black box

Virgin

With malar flushes,
Causelessly she blushes,
In solitude, to herself she smiles,
While walking, aimlessly she tarries.
With a startled look,
Whom does she seek?

She Lives

She flushes and drops bright eyes
to hide my image...
I cup her face and drown it.

     [me]

She breathes hesitantly, mouth
Pressed and obstinate...
I gather her corners up.

     [drawing that smile again]

She welts tearlines onto the
Pale perfection: skin...
I wet my thumbs, agonized.

     [her sorrow breaks]

She sleeps, curls framing movement
And serenity...
I weave myself into both.

     [touching the ends of eternity]

Premium Member I Wandered Lonely As a Life

"I wandered lonely as a cloud" -- William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a life
bereft of joy by reason’s cloud
to sling invective like a scythe
from perched on high, lofty and proud.
Naught from my lips but bile and scorn,
delight extinguished, long since shorn.

Imprisoned by my intellect,
I held my neighbor in disdain,
the simpletons who genuflect,
lift voice in praise to gods inane.
Devoid of purpose, meaningless,
inflicting pain, I caused distress.

Ensconced in fog, truth thus eludes,
for nothing blinds like one’s own will,
prolongs the moral turpitude,
bolstering self yet further still.
The darkness bears an evil grin,
a putrid corpse, lest dawn breaks in.

But worlds come crashing down, of course.
A penetrating shaft of light
that sears at first, causes remorse,
illumines one’s desperate plight.
A warmth then flushes on the face
by blood reborn, restored by grace.

Seen through a sepia scale
Drab grief, of hiemal cradle
mirthless, a desolate land
shrouded in frozen doldrums,
amid solemn ripples
on threnody and sizzle
akin to a gentle sway
with a oneiric, susurrous
tambourine wave of yore
rain whistles in tune
of doodles in gold and silver.

Swells of silk
of a hypnotic spell—origami
wispy petrichor wafts!
It was tender
ignominious mayhem
of withering earth
sadly surprised
amidst golden neon notes
and vermilion,
as stricken soil stirs.

And flushes in luscious tones
of singing and crystals
as daffodils and clover bloom
amidst webs of aurelian curls
a fairy's rhapsody,
let spring song rise!
each seed that is still alive
hope will sprout subtly,
to refuel the soul
from the cosmic womb.

Wars will hinder any way to harmony
and allegiance to nations
Earth is our vast home
we purport as world healers
send me a melody
smoother than embers
we're rooted in clay
as melody with thawing knack
once I visualized piano tunes,
each tone evoked anguish
yet, our sonata is harmless
paramount of my persona
beyond brink of kismet
we ought to sigh and cry
sultry concerto
In a garden labyrinth.

Observe the bending of tree & flower.
To rages; a gale… in tempestuous hours.!
Rain deep in curtain, makes interplay;
Fresh night skies, await the sun in power.

Morn air stirs, Lady’s chinking; breakfast crocks.
Day-streams 'cross backyards, endless blocks..
Splashes as sound; tables, are scrubbed..
Cars all hues; white thru red, too! radios rock!!

Sprinklers now silent; birdsong calls,
Gardener’s clipping the creeper on walls
Children’s cries are echoes around
Fountains splash in foyers & malls!!

Gundog flushes the dove; white ahead!
Tools are re-sharpened in timber shed,
Lilac buds blossom! Midst threaded verde,
In abundant gardens, Man & Woman wed.."

Premium Member ''seed of Love''

I sail unaware
into

the ocean currents
of her life:

and
smitten, I
desire to ride

them with her.

Somewhere
along

the ocean
ways, a

seed of love

plants itself in
the soil

of my heart

and takes root
and grows—

only to perish
like

an embryo of
hope

that's aborting itself:

though I love
her still,

she cuts
and lacerates my heart

like a careless
knife.

In spite of
this cruelty and myself,

I look

for encouragement
in her stare.

And

at the outlines
of her

magnificent
form

I marvel:

she is
indeed

a Helen of Troy,
a Venus—
on

whose
loveliness I

so richly gorge!

But never was
a lonelier
man

more wretched
than I

am,

as she cannot
return

my
affections

with equal measure
of feeling

or passion.

I would be gladder
had she been unwedded

to another,

and could more
easily be

within my desirous
and jealous

orbit!

In time, I
never

see her
again;

and love,
or the similitude
of It—

like
some aborted

fetus—

flushes down the
toilet

and dies

with her parting
as well...

Premium Member For Women Who Suffer Every Month - and Their Partners Who Suffer In Silence

Oh how I long for the menopause and end this monthly curse
I was hoping things would improve, but now it’s getting worse

I turn into a chocolate craving fiend at all hours of day or night
If someone raided my emergency supply it could end in a fight

My skin can take a bashing and I end up with a spotty chin
Stomach inflates like a huge balloon, but in reality I am thin

Can’t wait for those hot flushes; it could reduce our heating bill
I could ditch my trusty thermal vest for I won’t feel the chill!!!
