The plane touched down
Ethiopians kissed the ground
   The Bible's holy soil
      Land of Israel
      Home at Last!

Our Shame,

"PRESIDENT" & "LEADERS"

Full grown men,
old,
devoid of vision,
Lacking in wisdom,
wicked weaklings
protected by paltry paid gun men
great grandfathers,
unwilling to train Younger Leaders.
Untrained themselves in morals & reputation,
Liars,
Tired & fickle in frame,
feeble. opaque, lacking imagination,
These exalted clowns,
drawn from rickety defeated military,
All but a weak one from the creek.
Gangsters,
Elevated as Presidents,
or Governors and Leaders,
We are Trapped,
fooled by cynosure of degenerate,
immoral men, destinies robbers,
watching the drowning of a once rich Giant.
confined felon,
demented through age
rogues as Presidents, Senators, Governors,
Protected by corrupt Police
and a demystified compromised Army,
Oppressive DSS, Abusive servants of the masses,
robbing the future of unborn kids,
denying all in the midst of Plenty,
shaming us all.
We have no Leaders Yet.
None since 1960.
Profligate band of men,
overtaken by fraud & moral turpitude,
A merry-go-round by failures,
sixty Plus years after Muzungu,
Illiterates still in charge of our destinies,
Despised in Ghana
scorned in Zambia
Overtaken by Ethiopians
locked out by Botswana
Denied by Rwanda
disgraced in Libya
Mocked in South Africa
Bared in sane countries
where corruption is an indelible blot,
incarcerating the guilty away from sane men.
These crooked Old recycled Failures,
Destroyed, ruined and damaged destroying still.
unwilling to retire in their dishonour,
Killing, abusing and incarcerating Young men who dares tyranny.
A former Giant,
Now a Crawling Giant of Africa,
Beggarly borrowing amidst plenty.
Over two hundred million divided mass,
waiting for “godot” .
procrastinating liberty for fear and docility
A country of Countries Ruined by Military men
masquerading as democrats through tyranny
A Cancer in Africa.

Paranoia Strikes Deep

I have dug this one out of the poetry attic; composed when a teen, hence the dated references. Fellow Soupers of my age-group (60 in a few weeks- Yikes!) might enjoy it:

Friend, watch out! They're talking.
Have you heard what they're talking about?
They're not talking about revolution
Nor of mystical ablution,
Not of meaningful discussions
Nor of drastic repercussions.
Not of drugs and their results
Nor of wars and satanic cults.
Not of full-blooded,Medal-studded,Octo-Olympians
Nor of the tragedy of fading Ethiopians.
Not of whether the weather will hold out.

Will I tell you what they're talking about?

They're not talking about extinction
Nor about energy diminution.
Not about the bludging bureaucracy
Nor of stifling plutocracy.
Not about student-Left activity
Nor of the signs of cultural declivity.
Not about aspects of phallic domination
Nor of real genuine insemination.
Not about who is sure and who in doubt.

Should I tell you who they're talking about?

They're not talking about Nixonfrancocastroamin
Nor of that handydandy, non-returnable
Devastatingly non-biodegradable container
Their fingerfriedlickinchicken lunch was served in.
Not of astronautical penetrations
Nor of the psycho-sexual implications
Of the demise of Chairman Mao.
Not of matters affecting us right here and now!
Nor of suicide, VD, rape, fraud, famine and disease.
Not of all the things like these
Which make this world the wonderful place that it
Most certainly is (and
All divinely-ordained to wit!)

No! They're talking about subversion,
Of unabashed, unwashed perversion!
In short ( and I hear all this is true)
Those bastards are talking about ME & YOU!

April 3 Scripture Meditations Based on 2Chronicles 19-22

Key Verse – 2Chronicles 21:16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians.

MY GOD, THANK YOU FOR STIRRING ME UP

Thank You for stirring me up toward loving You devotedly
Indeed meeting me during prayer-fellowship sweetly
Always preparing my heart to seek You earnestly
By Your compassion’s goodness greatly.

Thank You for stirring me up toward praising You in my worship
Indeed moving me against hypocrisy in exalting Your leadership
Always kindling my gratitude to express joy in Your offered friendship
By Your granted divine relationship.

Thank You for stirring me up toward learning from You and Your Word
Indeed teaching me to live by Your truth’s record
Always guiding my faith to use Your powerful sword
By Your wisdom toward understanding accord.

Thank You for stirring me up toward serving You through Your vineyard
Indeed choosing me as Your laboring steward
Always strengthening my hands to work hard
By Your might’s standard.

Thank You for stirring me up toward obeying Your authority
Indeed overseeing me midst worldliness’ vanity
Always correcting my motives of any falsity
By Your guarding sovereignty.

Thank You for stirring me up toward abiding in Your will
Indeed bringing me to Your presence where from chaos, I can keep still
Always restoring my salvation-joy while Your assigned tasks I fulfill
By Your inspiring sacrifice at Calvary hill.

Premium Member FAITH IN GOD WHO STIRS US UP TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT

May 16 Faith in God Bible Meditations Based on 2Chronicles 21-24

Key Verse – 2Chronicles 21:16 Moreover the LORD stirred up against Jehoram the spirit of the Philistines, and of the Arabians, that were near the Ethiopians.

FAITH IN GOD WHO STIRS US UP TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT

God stirs us to do what is right in His sight
That shows our faith to stay in His light
Surely directing us for diligence by His might
Along His goodness of gracious delight.

God stirs us to do what is right with divine confidence
That shines through our faith by His bright providence
Surely upholding us with truth’s evidence
Along His salvation securing us heavenly residence.
God stirs us to do what is right with His holiness
That sanctifies our faith against sinfulness
Surely moving us to strive for purity’s steadfastness
Along His cleansing for our forgiveness.

God stirs us to do what is right according to His Word
That teaches our faith to stand upon His immutable record
Surely instructing us for service by His compassionate cord
Along His leadership as our Master and Lord.

God stirs us to do what is right, loving Him with all our heart
That keeps our faith adhere to Him right from the start
Surely guarding us from worldliness-dart
Along His presence that will never depart.

God stirs us to do what is right by His admonition
That warns our faith against perversion
Surely charging us to obey Him with His exhortation
Along rebuke that reproves our transgression.

God stirs us to do what is right by His guidance
That drives our faith through His governance
Surely protecting us by His assurance
Along His blessings to our stewardship’s perseverance.
