I was but a boy
You seemed almost a toy,
So young, and in love,
We fit just like a glove
You said, "All I can offer you,
Is a love that time can not destroy"
Oh boy!, Oh boy!!
It filled me full of joy.
Nineteen was I
Sixteen you were,
Living in our house,
My Mom, you loved her...
My father, you helped him
build a stoop,
These are moments,
We can never recoup...
But eternity was short lived,
You went to work,
Left me for another man,
I felt like the biggest jerk
No, it's not all your fault,
I realize that,
I did not provide something,
In grief I sat,
Your treacherous friend,
Her eyes on me,
Stirred the pot,
For whatever reason,
For me she was hot
But I would not cross that line,
Her boyfriend,
Was a friend of mine
Well it's all water under the bridge
Over troubled waters,
A song I cherish,
Our eternal love,
Was destined to perish.

Bio
The Little Girl's Garden
A finagle of young fairies with colors red, green, yellow, indigo, white and orange with glittering wings are playing in a garden very close to an old house door.
Two hours later, they saw a little girl coming out of the house, holding a rubber ducky on her way to the garden. They are observing the girl as their playing is interrupted.
The little girl felt something strange about the garden because all of her toys that she left there two days ago are not scattered. She recalled arranging them in line. She just presumed it could be the strong winds that swayed them or a small animal may have played with her toys. So she collected all her toys and arranged them in one line again. She put her rubber ducky at the end of the line. And then she left the garden.
Four of the six fairies are staring at the other two -- giggling. They are the ones who scrambled the young girl's toys.

6:23 PM
Clock ticks ticks ticking
Hunched back and sprawled all over
I get this feeling
Fingers taps taps clicking
Pen taps in repetition
I hate this feeling
I stared at the calendar
And scorned at the squeaking birds outside
As well as the date presented
Circled in bold red
With the words
"Time's up!"

Slam poetry evening
Offended
Leave now
In fact why have you come
If this is not for you
Or do you 2 wish to slam
And are here looking for a muse
To abuse or accuse
To ignite your fuse
Try walking in other's shoes
So contrite
I write what bite's
I spew like devil's flu
Over and under you
I slam
That of which I give a damn
I compress like a powder keg
I challenge you to think ahead
I am what keeps you awake in bed
I am an dystopia future
I lie beneath the key's of your computer
That the ouigie move's
And your feet steers
I am what's lurching in the rear mirror
I am your fear's
The shivers that chill down your spine
I am the crossed line
An anomaly
Slamming brain matter pulsating vein's
Allowing your innermost thoughts to flow
Without self control
No longer shy truth not lie
I could fry for divulging the slam
Loose my friends and confidants
For the sake of mistaking poetry for art
But if freedom and release
Is what I seek
Then on this day
Havoc wreak
I stand on fickle hoarded stage
And read my words from tortured page
And rage against my weapons
With dotted crosses
Ironing out the botches
With scalpel and shale beach rocks
And feel the chill of deafening frost
Nothing lost
Nothing ventured
Friendship mended
Slam ended
Can't even tell you
Why or even if I penned this
Or meant it
The sentiment is endless
For the reader to bend it
Sorry but I felt duty bound to send this
I honestly recommend it
Slam me back
Call me an old hack
Its the only way of keeping track
Or shelling the flack
Otherwise i will keep coming back
More black and blank
With no 1 to thank
And you can take that to the food bank

A young robin my cat once befriended
Till one day the relationship ended
I came home to find
That my cat changed her mind
For from her mouth a feather extended

~~~ Songs My Soul Cried Ended the Psalms of Songs ~~~
Grace was inside my soul, I’d love his grace
Please my grace travel the world, find peace please
Face of darkness of the deep grace did face
Knees freeze and their prayers had no bowed knees
Risks ensnared the soul waiting for life’s risks
Perils times, beliefs lost liar’s perils
Frisk my soul falsehood frolic death did frisk
Morals abandon humanity; dung looted morals
Known and unknown lost all grace they had known
Peace was feared in the world, they hated peace
Alone with lost faith, their soul all alone
Ceased beliefs, lost their twin towers grace ceased
Kiss of hell walked the Earth, souls did kiss
Love healed hearts on the Sabbath that was love
Bliss with no respect, cold souls mingled bliss
Above, joy of life gone; hell now above
Songs my soul cried, ended the psalms of songs
Wrongs unforgiven, no life was dead wrongs.
Fourth Shadow Sonnet – As you can see this does not meet the challenge guidelines in this pen. I added an extra stanza to keep the meaning I wanted to achieve. Please join in if you like; it has to rhyme, 10 syllable count and 14 lines to meet the challenge. However, if you just want to be creative please do. I cannot wait to see what you all are going to write about.
It Ended With A Kiss
Marie, an oldie who'd never been kissed
Longed for the feeling of kissing on lips
One day she went selling kisses for free
Men were put off for Marie was gummy
She'd lost her teeth guzzling too many sweets
Then had regretted indulging in treats.
Suddenly a cool, handsome guy passed by
The oldie gave him a wink from her eye
He knew what she wanted and came up trumps
Gave her a kiss and found Marie stunk
He was disgusted and said she should pay
She paid happily as he'd made her day.
The dear sweet Marie has since passed away
This is what her epitaph has to say
"Here lies a woman merrily at rest
Her last day on earth was simply the best
That day she’d known the magic of a kiss
Twas worth every penny of fifty quid."
14th May 2022
If wishes were kisses life would be bliss,
everyone would be blessed with lucky lips.
NEVERTHELESS IT ALL ENDED IN 19 And 64
By Roy Merritt
(When reading it use a Cockney accent and the h is silent)
Oh alas poor Jimmy Bond 'e didn't go past sixty four
Cause you know 'is creator that's the year 'e went out the door
Yes indeed Ian Fleming that was the year that 'e croaked
That was the year the Good Lord 'is license to kill revoked
'e was only fifty six when 'e bought the farm
Through a 'aze of cigarette smoke and Jimmy Bond's great charm
'e really liked to drink and smoked seventy fags a day
So is it any wonder the Grim Reaper up 'auled 'im away
'e was in the Royal Navy and worked there as a spy
During World War Two and the Nazi's 'e defied
While in the Navy 'e worked on Golden Eye
An operation 'e would later on in one 'is books apply
'e wrote "Casino Royale" and that pulp 'ad three great runs
And later on "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" for the little ones
And I don't know who was the best in movies based on what 'e did write
Whether it was Sean Connery, Mister Craig or that limber Dick Van Dyke
Or maybe it was Julie Andrews or maybe Ms. P. Galore
Nevertheless it all ended in nineteen and sixty four
Yes indeed it all ended in nineteen and sixty four
Nevertheless it all ended in nineteen and sixty four
Please give us a topic, at least just a clue
I have no direction, don't know what to do
Do I scribe what I know, or write from the heart?
Or do I quote Shakespeare and try to sound smart?
A ballad, a sonnet, a three line haiku?
Or try to be clever, and try a senryu
Perhaps using penta, and maybe i-ambic?
Dactylic or pyrric, it's sending me manic
So next time a subject, please tell us ahead
And I'll write something different to be a blockhead
Verse
The day whose hours only a dream ago ended,
Was a test to the grave some men commended,
For seizing any opportunity to push and trip,
Is what men do when they want you off their ship.
The grave is a temptation for sure, but to endure
By moving on, by vowing instead to live more pure,
Far outshines the humiliating lights of evasiveness,
Whose eyes fearing the look of so-called craziness,
Would rather play it safe to make the world flatter.
Flat-landers, fearing bumps too risky to matter,
Huddling in groups with crossed fingers on backs,
Searching the ground for tell-tale signs of cracks,
Prefer cleaning their roads to clearing their minds,
Daily management easier without certain kinds.
The day whose hours a deep hurt now lets go,
Was an exam whose answer I begin to know.
The writing on the wall though merely commenced,
Is the writing of a fall that will not be dispensed,
For this refusal is more then a denial,
But an affirmation of the life I love and smile.
A beautiful human being,
Lost her life, and no one seems to know why
If only her silence could be broken, If only her
Soul would wander around and deliver the untold
The story no one could tell,
The truth about what happened, Someday will be revealed
Classification and separation, Is what we often feel
Taken so violently, Bared the brutal pain,
An innocence loss, Is what she became
No matter the shape or life that she led,
She didn't deserve the death she was fed
I feel for the mother, The loss of her child,
Can be filled with no other ,The father and sister
Aunt,cousins and family will remember Tyisha,
All the good memories
Tyisha?
Do you remember the silly arguments,
We used to always have
Sitting around our desks in our elementary class,
You were mad at me and I was mad at you
Because we had some much in common,
And yet we hated to
You carried my birthday, I carried your age,
You carried my year, I carried your first name
You were like me, as I was like you,
But Tyisha Tyisha, you were taken to soon
We had our differences, We went our separate ways,
But still I remember you, Just like it was yesterday
You carried my first name, As I carried yours,
I carried a tone, Much lighter than you
But still you were taken, To soon To soon,
A home you found in heaven
With our lord, Jesus Christ,
So sad you had to leave this world
And join another life,
Nine years had gone by, Before I'd seen your face,
And when that day had finally come, It was on the newspaper page
I couldn't believe it was true,
So much sadness I felt for you
I know it wasn't right, A shameful breach of trust,
Your life was taken so quickly but the memories nobody can touch
From this day forward, Just trust and believe,
For the Master will surely supply all your needs
Tyisha don't worry, You're safe and your sound,
No longer are you burdened , No longer are you bound
Tyisha, Tyisha, Please remember me, I'll see you again,
Rest in peace, Rest in peace
Free verse
i shall never be able to forget our affection
was deep as first love, and wild as all regret-
crimson and medallion encompass my soul;
‘neath the autumn moon i still etch your silhouette
sincerity arrived and remorse soon followed,
for i needed compassion, someone to console-
i put away my lace to replace what was before,
now my poor essence shallow, my heart hollowed
o’er the mount of forgiveness is where i wish to be,
never saving a love that washes up a reverie shore-
o, if only my sweet, we could make one more connection,
maybe you would be you- and… i would be me
i shall always be frail in ways never comprehended,
must cease this pain so that i may be apprehended-
our passion could have been incredibly splendid,
all love suspended... as our dalliance has ended
Shape
She always talked
like a happy little bird
tried to fit the mold
Wasn't strong enough
to keep up the facade
it is what ended her life
Early
I mostly think outside the square
I don't fit the mold
I can't be told
I'm older but
To some doing church
is like playing a game
so others think you got it right
U2, P.O.D., Coldplay
R you with me here
are people who inspire me
To write lines like this
helps me to think outside
of the friends thoughts who died
Early.
