Best Electricians Poems
When I was young my mom, like most women, donned a hat when she went out.
Dad said it added to her beauty…of this I had no doubt.
My mom had a collection of hats she stored in boxes under her bed.
So many different kinds of bonnets that sat atop her head.
Moms of today are different they go out with their heads bare
but one thing they share with Moms of the past are the many hats they wear.
If we tried to count the hats they don...we couldn’t...they go on indefinitely
Perhaps one way to approach it...is alphabetically.
Moms are:
Accountants
Babysitters
Chauffeurs...they do what
Doctors and
Electricians do…they are
Farmers
Governors
Housekeepers, and
Ice cream makers too…they are
Janitors
Kitchen and
Laundry workers, and
Maids who clean the floor…they are
Nurses
Optometrists,
Painters
Quality control inspectors and furthermore they are
Receptionists
Seamstresses and
Teachers…they can
Upholster that sofa or that chair…they are
Valets
Washroom Attendants and
X-Ray technicians…ready anytime and anywhere…they are
Yard managers and every Mom I know is also a keeper of the
Zoo
That’s 26 different hats they wear…
26 different jobs that all Moms do.
Moms are the original and still the best multi-taskers the world has ever met.
In fact, I didn’t run out of hats for them...I ran out of alphabet!
I guess it’s a good thing each job doesn’t have a hat that sits atop Moms head
for there wouldn’t be enough room to store the boxes under their beds.
They are visionaries, they are cheerleaders, so much of our existence they adorn
yet they had no experience as a mother until the day when we were born.
Because it was at that miraculous moment, despite their fearfulness and qualms
when they smiled as they looked at us and realized……’I’m a Mom.’
For that is the hat that encompasses the rest...the hat we call motherhood
and I must admit, from where I stand
Moms…you make that hat look good.
So Moms, here’s to a wonderful Mother’s Day as this poem bids you all adieu
For all the many hats you wear…
our hats are off to you.

Color, beautiful colors so fair.
Decorates life with beauty, gemstones.
Days without splendor could bring despair.
The human retina, its rods and cones,
Designed to paint man’s world with grand hues.
View majestic colors on earth’s throne.
Hues that paint nightlights with great amuse.
Storefronts, theaters and streets bedecked.
Beautiful colors: reds, greens, and blues.
Sometimes there is a spectral defect.
Pigment askew sees colors untrue.
Changing the vistas one might expect.
Colorblind people tell some jobs adieu.
Electricians, painters, and even cooks –
Let’s hope there will be a cure breakthrough.
On the good side, according to books,
Colorblindness detects camouflage.
A benefit, finds enemy nooks.
Corsage, collage, sabotage montage –

Past and Present; A Blueprint for Success
Ancient legends reside on worn stones;
carry out their journeys through time.
Nothing is ever new, it is only
rediscovered by new senses.
Birds of iron and steel taxied across
ancient deserts millennia ago;
are depicted on ancient temples and pyramids,
the world over.
In Alexandria, Egypt;
sailors guided by an old light house;
traveled ancient seas in search of gold and lapis.
The technology is lost in the folds of time.
Egypt’s electricians are remembered,
despite efforts to deny them;
the artists of their times have,
immortalized them in stone.
Modern man, a creature of technology;
fails to duplicate what, the ancients knew and
saving face, destroys the whole planet for,
lack of the ancient knowledge.
Lost is the original set of blueprints; trial and error are the ends when,
we forget the past in favor of the future.
Like siblings, past and future must, grow up together.
Favor one over the other and something is lost.
In looking back as we look ahead in the present;
nothing is truly impossible.

If lawyers get de-barred and clergymen de-frocked
Does it naturally follow and make sense
That electricians are de-lighted and cowboys de-ranged?
Need some answers, no sitting on the fence!
Can a motorist be de-fined, a balloon's mood de-flated
This silliness surely must stop
Do dead mailmen de-liver, are old ships de-ported
Better stop before I call a burly cop
Do musicians get de-noted, dry cleaners de-pressed?
Now hold on, I'm getting quite upset
Can models be de-posed, do tree surgeons de-bark?
Haven't heard any answers as yet
Do skirts get de-pleted, has your hair been de-parted?
This must be some kind of a plot
Artists quit by de-sign, symphonies de-compose?
I think about de's things a lot!

Think about it
even within
your own family
between sisters
Cousins and aunt's
uncle brothers
and sons
you probably have
One hundred people
One hundred people
saving ten dollars a week
Is a thousand dollars
Fifty two thousand
dollars per year
the deposit for a house
every year
The growth of family
wealth
read the book
Rich Dad Poor Dad
Monopoly
teaches you to build wealth
invest in four house's
them use the wealth
to create a company
working as a family
you could make
a better life
working as a family
you could create work
for your children
and others
Save the world
invest in your future
creating wealth for yourself
makes your country healthy
Teach your kids
to be plumbers
electricians
builders
Every company
is created by investment
combine knowledge
with investment for growth

I’ve heard lots of feminists say
we’d be better off without men,
they claim that they are just joking,
but say it again and again.
That we’re all of the world’s problems,
that we start all of the world’s wars,
the species would be much better
if we didn’t need men anymore.
The trend is for the feminine
to be exalted endlessly,
the masculine gets demonized,
Orwell-speak shields the misandry;
but I think all these flippant jibes
cover a fact few will admit,
if these feminists got their wish
the whole world would fast go to sh-t.
Now I know the obvious fact,
with men, no procreation,
which means that the whole species dies
within just one generation.
But lets get to the here and now,
to the world and how it must work,
without men out there doing there thing
society would go berzerk.
Most folk who chose to be pilots
do carry the y-chromosone,
so if they’re gone then kiss goodbye
the chance to travel far from home.
And most people building with steel,
or wood are of the manly type,
so don’t expect much to be built
if men are sent off into night.
Most people out in the hot sun
building roads are decidedly male,
so if you are the type who drives
without men you are bound to fail.
Who can forget all the farmers,
once again, most of them are guys,
if they're not there growing those crops
then millions of people will die.
Surgery and anesthesia
are dominated by the dudes,
so if they’re gone you better hope
nothing ever happens to you.
The police who chase criminals,
and use force to put them away...
mostly men, and without all them
scumbags would also rule the day.
The miners and the lumberjacks,
the truckers, and the soldiers strong,
the plumbers and electricians,
the list of it goes on and on…
Now some may say that without men
women would just do all of that,
but equal rights say otherwise,
and simply looking at the stats
shows women do not take these jobs,
despite all the hype about STEM,
when both sexes are free to chose
it still always fall to the men.
I think it’s time we all admit
that there’s evolution at play,
there’s things men are better geared for,
and it will always be that way.
If all the crazies got their wish,
and the ‘toxic’ males disappeared,
you all would be dead within months,
both sexes have roles to play here.

Free verse
Hard to believe you graduated
from college 25 years ago.
Anyone who can climb
from ruffian in a juvenile home
to university graduate to
business owner is remarkable.
One day your sons
will come to understand that.
Your siblings as well.
Couldn’t be prouder of your trek,
a magnificent one, done the hard way,
something I viewed from the valley.
My father had a passbook
with cash for me to go to college.
He always had work, hard work,
highly skilled, with no layoffs.
There’s always a demand for hot wire
electricians willing to climb
tall poles and high towers,
attack voltage in any weather.
Life never steps back, forever upstream,
and then suddenly we're salmon.
A final thrust or two and we die.
Thank God we have souls.

I remember my mom having a collection of hats she stored under her bed.
For any occasion that could arise…she had a hat to set atop her head.
Moms of today are different…often they go out with their heads bare

If we tried to count all their hats...we can’t…for the list goes on indefinitely

They are Janitors, Kitchen and Laundry workers, and Maids who clean the floor.
They are Nurses, Optometrists, Painters, Quality control inspectors…there’s more.
They are Receptionists, Seamstresses, Teachers…Umpires…and not always soft spoken…they are Valets, Wardens, X-Ray technicians who can tell if that bone is broken.
They are Youth counselors and every Mom I know is a keeper of the Zoo
If you’re keeping track that’s 26 different hats...26 different jobs that all Moms do.
Moms are the original and still the best multitaskers the world has ever met.

for there wouldn’t be enough room to store them in boxes beneath their beds.
They are visionaries, they are cheerleaders, so much of our existence they adorn
yet they had no experience being a mom until their first child was born.
For it was at that miraculous moment in a panic mixed with calm
when the doctor handed them their baby and said, “Congratulations…you’re a Mom!”
And to any Mom who might not have given birth…might not have been there from the start…here’s to all the Mom hats you’ve worn once you opened up your heart.
Do you remember that miraculous feeling…with a mixture of panic and calm…
whether you chose the moment…or the moment chose you…
when you became a Mom?
And therein lies the hat that encompasses all the rest...the hat called motherhood
and to all you Moms out there…I must admit…you make that hat look good.
So to all the Moms everywhere,
here’s wishing you a wonderful Mother’s Day…for all the things you do…
for all the many hats you wear…
our hats are off to you.

WE AS "ELECTRICIANS" REALLY NEED A GROUND FAULT CONNECTION TO KEEP OUR LIVES FROM BEING TAKEN AWAY,BY THE 'ENEMY" WHO WE ENCOUNTER EVERYDAY!!!! THE ENEMY MAYBE AT HOME,OR UP ON THE HIGH WIRE,AND WE NEED A "GROUND FAULT",SO THAT WE WILL NOT "EXPIRE"!!! AS ELECTRICIANS WE REALLY NEED A "GROUND FAULT CONNECTION IN "ANY OF OUR "LOVE RELATIONSHIPS"! SOMETIMES THOSE RELATIONSHIPS 'MUST' BE PLUGGED INTO THAT 'GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT' TO SEE IF IT IS STILL A GOOD CONNECTION OR IF IT CANNOT HANDLE "THE LOAD"F0R SECURE PROTECTION"THEREBY" CIRCUIT REJECTION"IN THE "GROUND FAULT" TEST.WE
HAVE "HEARTS,AND SOULS THAT REALLY DO HAVE "GROUND FAULT" CONNECTIONS,AND WE CAN REALLY REALIZE WHEN WE NEED TO IMPLEMENT 'REAL,AND TRUE REJECTION "FOR OUR OWN PROTECTION",AND THAT IS WHAT A "GROUND FAULT CIRCUIT DOES WITH THE PROPER CONNECTIONS!!!WE REALIZE HOW TO DO THE THINGS THAT NEED REJECTION,AND THE SPIRITS THAT NEED REJECTIONS,AND THE INDIVIDUALS THAT NEED REJECTION !THIS IS A SECURE "GROUND FAULT CONNECTION"!!!!WE ALL HAVE A "GROUND FAULT CONNECTION" WITHIN OUR "HEARTS" TO TRY AND PREVENT OUR HEARTS FROM BEING BROKEN! Ballad
Big Marty Milano
Blue-veined sausage nose
slightly off center
toward the right side of
a florid cop face
white-gloved hands
directing traffic
to the piercing rhythm
of staccato blasts from
the black wooden whistle
clenched between his teeth
everyone called him
Big Marty Milano and
he conducted a busy
three street confluence
of automobiles pedestrians and
kids going to and
from school like it was
his personal symphony orchestra
he was a beat cop
walking the streets
a kind word for every
old person living on his turf
a stern look for teens
with mischief on their minds
and an aura of invincibility
as he twirled his nightstick
on a black leather thong
woven between meaty fingers
Big Marty Milano
died one Friday night
in late March 1950
bleeding out beneath
The lamppost on the corner
in front of Doc Felcher’s drug store
after taking two bullets
in his neck trying to stop
a robbery in progress
the shots woke me up and
I watched from my
fourth-floor bedroom window
sobbing into my pillow
as the ambulance and patrol cars
flooded the streets with
sirens and flashing lights
they covered his body
with a raincoat but
his huge crepe soled cop shoes
stuck out of one end
the next Monday morning
when I left for school
there was a new officer
directing traffic
he wore a strip of
sticky black electricians tape
across his silver NYPD badge
but I just couldn’t
look at his face…

Narrative
If People have a car accident
they can spend months in hospital
needing wages they depend on employers
yet companies can only afford so much
Society could do better
I'm don't like unemployment
where healthy people sit doing nothing
that is a waste of assets a waste of people
yet when people are injured in accidents
they should be able to get invalid benefits
until they are healed but then if they are crippled
and can't go back to their previous employment
We could train them for employment
Where they can survive and thrive
remember Stephen Hawkins
what an incredible man
Facing an illness that would have devastated
any other man he went on to become
a leader in his scientific field
because that is the path he chose to follow
The bible says in the parable of a good samaritan
"It is about a traveller who is stripped of clothing, beaten, and left half dead alongside the road. First a priest and then a Levite comes by, but both avoid the man. Finally, a Samaritan happens upon the traveller. Samaritans and Jews despised each other, but the Samaritan helps the injured man"
Your neighbor is the man
that takes care of your wounds
pays for your stay at an Inn
takes care of you as a person
Our Car accidents and disabled
are the people that need help
without the ability to work
and hold down a job they need support
but support should only be tempory
retraining to become independent
should be the ultimate goal
granted sometimes we can't
sometimes we can't fix a problem
sometimes an invalid
will never be able to get back into work
sometimes our society needs invalid benefits
yet having healthy people sitting on benefits
for their entire life is no good for them
and no good for society
it is an undeveloped human resource
They are assets that could be used
educated and encouraged
to become the builder's, electricians
and mechanics in the war on climate change
