Premium Member Double Standards Withstanding
I stand at temptations door...
As anger spurs a grievance withheld.
Surreptitiously you praise the incongruent
While flinging to the wayside the valuable.

Eyes closed to the importance of veracity,
You belabor simplicity with objectivity denounced
As you are drawn only to the iconoclastic.
I long to visualize cronyism obliterated.

Double Standards
When one makes viable peace
Between erstwhile colonial whites
And erstwhile colonized blacks
To the advantage of the whites
We urge for a Nobel Peace Prize
Such was the case in South Africa.

‘It is all for the greater good’
The activists will proclaim
The judges proudly pronounce
‘The triumph...

Double Standards
You don't miss a slice off a cut loaf
At least that's what most cheaters would say.
But they're not talking about their wives
Because in their minds they have surmised
That their wives would never view life this way

So if this is a carved in stone fact...

Double Standards
In a situational disaster
disintegrating faster
I need a little chat
with a mate, I got a bastard!

Who can't give his hand,
time is precious on demand,
not a fan of understanding,
he'll dis you and abandon.

Write it off as senseless,
and somewhat unimportant,
distance himself from involvement
and ignore it.

When...

Double Standards
Now this is a double standard
I lend her my shirt and don't squawk
Later, I borrow just one dress
Then it is like "We need to talk"

Santa knows when you are asleep
And he knows when you are awake
But if I knew, that about you
My freedom would...

Double Standards
The expectations given to me I
have not met
Unlike others I can't always
forgive and forget
Like the time you said whole
heap of lies to me
And you wonder why I have an
issue with honesty
I haven't quite met up to your
dreams
But all that glitters...

Double Standards
What does 'clever' mean?
Is it to fix a machine
Is it the ability to sing
Is it to know everything
What is it?

What does 'nice' imply?
Is it the resistance to lie
Is it never to criticise
Is it the skill to advise
What...

Double Standards Part One
There is not only a double standard prevalent in the USA between Christians and non Christians. It also applies between liberal left wing radicals and conservatives. Take the January 6th protest out of our Washington DC, our American national capital. Even innocent bystanders, who were...

If It Weren'T For Double Standards
A mob of angry activists
go and deface a public street,
they painted that ‘Black Lives Matter,’
and the mayor said,”That’s fine with me.’
But when someone spoke of baby lives
they would not let them have their say,
when some sought to say ‘Blue Lives Matter,’
the authorities dragged them away.
They’re...

Why do we think it’s bad when other folks do it
While we persist in justifying our flagrant ways?
I suspect we cannot see our own shortcomings
Their misbehaviors despicable, ours merely flings.

Worth remembering
Into darkness without my friend,
Every hardship has an end.
But to struggle alone, when you ask for help… breaks the bond you both have felt.
No person is worth more, than what they give.
So when you reach the end , will you also be missed?...

The world we live in today
Tennis star Sinner’s no sinner,
But Phogat is, and no winner,
Sinner’s sans intention,
She should learn a lesson,
Are rules for the First World’s honour?
