It is not a discouraging word
but, according to one, is a turd.
F-A-R-T
is not pretty
and in Parliament should seldom be heard

The sweet little mouse
this morning was in the house
eating some kind of woodlouse
heard my feet and returned to it's spouse.
The disappearing birds who flied
as closer I got each new stride
off to find somewhere to hide
there's not one left, now i'm outside.
The squirrels foraging winter nuts
raised tails showing lil white butts
upon my sight they left not even dust
i'm off mate, time to bust.
The grazing deer in a wooded clear
one crack underfoot, all it needs to hear
bounces off in highest gear
I didn't even get remotely near.
Even a cat is off like that!
The creeping fox of dawn receeding
looking for a spot of easy feeding
the scent from bins hungrily reading
hears me and gone, fastly speeding.
The badger amongst the hedgerows
distinctive markings on that big long nose
those long sharp claws on each of its toes
but it smells me and off it go
The rabbit amongst the vegetable patch
sorrowful look at one in a hatch
if only it could work a latch
it bolted sharply avoiding a catch.
Many pheasants and peacocks abound
eating all the grain they found
all fly off as they hear my sound
all that's left, feathers floating to the ground.
The butterfly painted so bright
such beauty when 'tis in flight
flutters away at the slightest fright
oh what a delightful sight.
Why do all these animals run away?
All I want is a little play.

Rich distinctly green chromatic crystals
grow in the molten heart of Mother Earth.
Aptly called gems of spring; emeralds are
stones of rebirth fertility and worth.
As tokens of unconditional love
emeralds became the birthstone of May.
Flawless jewels are exceptional finds
generating steep prices people pay.
Faceted by skilled hands of a master
light pools within a sea of liquid green.
And its allure borders on hypnotic
inviting your eyes to swim in its sheen.
Valued the world’s most expensive jewel
inclusion free emeralds are that rare.
A coveted crystal beyond all others
the largest diamond cannot compare.

TRIBUTE TO A PRECIOUS OR SEMI-PRECIOUS GEM Poetry Contest

Distinctly it was all the way from here to there and over near
(Far from the naked eyes illusions)
more than it seems or less as,
(Illusions may differ from all)
sounds igniting more than,
(Illusions interact with sounds, is it so or just in the mind)
noises bouncing from there to here,
(Sound ultimately bounce from wavelengths but from where)
lights surrounding more than,
(Imagination run wild as allowed to)
headlights here and there,
(Are they headlights or are they suppose to appear as inclined)
Flashlights glaring off eyeglasses,
(from the form of ones primitive mind to actuality may be indescribable yet )
Vibration of movements livid
(Livid as movement are, makes one
under analysis very distinctive to another yet illusions of the naked eye dare not take a walk in the mind of said so subjective)
Distinctly times of the day
( differ for anyone of nature for as humans one may be considered distinctly distinctive, but from who, or whom, or from what)
Distinctly it was all the way from here, there and yonder to try another different approach yet what will tomorrow bring and after next day and continuing to the next, then what is next, distinctly?
Pressure boils over wanting to create a burn
pressing on because you know it's what you want
no one said it would be easy
following your dreams
wanting a life of freedom from the chains of money
keep on writing moving that mind, keep turning,
keep learning, disappointment can't stay here
only room for hope and positive thinking
leaving sickness and your demons to choke on your light
don't dim, stay lit, can't let you go out
won't let you die
I see what can be and I want to go for it
because I won't let there be another choice
another hour, another day full of regrets
I got to get up and push forward.
