I've thrown my quill in quiet rage
sometimes, when mocked by empty page.
I read such vibrant poetry
in awe, and ask how can this be?
Fresh imagery splashed on the page
with wisdom of the ancient sage,
allusions from the well-read shelf
with rhymes to please the Bard himself.

Thus insecure, I feel defeat -
   believing I cannot compete.
My words like sap from maple trees,
I strain as others write with ease.
Poetic thoughts freeze like a creek -
why does my muse play hide and seek?
Why grow downcast when I compare
their gifts to mine - what gain is there?

It's then I spot a butterfly
and see my story flitting by,
with wings unique and delicate,
   in colors bold and elegant.
It draws the flower's nectar sweet
and knows that it need not compete,
for nature's bounty will abound -
there's plenty there to go around.

My double-helix DNA
will dance its own distinct ballet,
no other tale could I design,
no other poet could write mine.
So I retrieve neglected quill
and vow to write again! I will
share thoughts to fill another's cup
with odes to hope, not giving up.

If insecure, make this your creed:
to learn from poets - read, read, read.
Let thoughts ascend to soaring height
to hone your craft then write, write, write!
Wait patiently upon your muse
to send fresh words to speak your views,
for only YOU can speak what's there
within your heart, your poet heart
      so rare.

Prayer

I pray to gain great so the pains will leave my lane, drain

I seek light, that is brightness so I will leave the night darkness

I pray for protection so my days on Earth will not be put into dislocation
because we are all humans and that we need protection in different occasion

Oh Lord, you are the father of all us
The beginning and the end
The Lord of Lord
And the king of king

When we call upon your name you make wonders;
Wonders that can't be counted different times, numbers
May your name be glorified

Forgive us our sin
because we have sin against you in distinct ways

Father I come to you as your child
Because we are your children and that you never failed your children

Lord I seek wisdom, knowledge and understanding;
Understanding that it is not easliy explainable
We are learners, I am learner

We all have different way to go
Lord, be our guardian
Lead us to the right path
So that we will not loose ourselves in different part

It is said there will be strategy
Make our own into good one, comedy
Non for the tragedy.

Book: Radiant Verses: A Journey Through Inspiring Poetry

The Echoes of Afar Distinct Soul

A friend cast to the land of a distinct
Frigid base, she said...
Lonesome embraced the yearn, mum likewise
Forfeit the identity, stumbled to the pivot of stir

A missed scraped of self-consciousness
The alert of all mistaken
Failed which taken about the half year of a time
Still another year kindly to visit

Await is the other chapter of her book which filled by the tears and sweats

Those eyes desiccated
Fagged had spun for the still
Tiring had mourned upon her fool
If only the existence able to teleport or be returned

Indeed I knew
Thou heart rooted within
Seeks the pedestal of berth and backrest for a lean
Fell into a soot of mother-earth and longing for the creatures which stood upon

Once thou reborn
Morphed into the maturer form
And when the time has come
Every single cells of glory threw pride upon sun

For the down valley beneath her soul taught the life lessons
Afar from a distinct revealed the pavement of her inner soul
Nevertheless frigid base undertaken the coral of her blizzard

Premium Member Distinct Beauty of Poetry

Poetry’s distinct beauty shines through the rays of its author’s artistic employment and creative presentation. However, its dynamic impact is felt when read with animated vibrancy, bringing to life the encoded thoughts.
Said pursuit is done by poem-writers with their language devices in expressing their messages, and articulating their ideas. They achieve such through the aid of meter and rhythm, which are vital attributes of a poem.
A poet who is considered as a word-artist paints with passion, power, precision, and patience thru a perspective toward a purpose: the creation of a masterpiece – a poem in its best form. Like an engineer who in constructing an edifice uses accurate measurement, the poet, too, “measures” the words he uses with precision. Hence, he thinks and reflects (brain and heart efforts are exerted here) of the right and exact word that fits a line and in this endeavor, syllable count is important. It is because syllables help in the production of rhythm, the “regular rise and fall in the flow of sound in speech.” Inspired and illumined, the poet, (in my case, driven by my faith in God), guarded by poetry guidelines… plunges into the depths of heart’s revelation, then optimizing words' functional dominance, enlivens his art.

Poetry pictures life’s grand iridescence
Of love, joy, peace, grace, hope and faith’s essence
Ever exposing angst, hurts, gloom’s silence
Truths prevailing over ambivalence
Resounding God Almighty’s providence
Yelling triumph of glorious* evidence!

*Psalm 145:5 I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.

Heart Is Heart Distinct

Depth of love varies
Let all to draw God's picture
                                               Heart is heart distinct

Distinct Individuality

I talk, I scream
I yell, I sing
I laugh, I cry
I live, I die
I love, I hate
I rush, I wait
I spend, I save
I give up, I have faith

Unique Personality
Distinct individuality

I win, I lose
I don't try, I prove
I cause, I prevent
I am soft, I am cement
I eat, I drink
I float, I sink
I rise, I fall
I am short, I am tall

Unique Personality
Distinct individuality

I wake up, I dream
I resist, I feign
I walk, I drive
I surrender, I strive
I stop, I go
I am fast, I am slow
I am hot, I am cold
I am young, I am old

Unique Personality
Distinct individuality

I deny, I allow
I am ashamed, I am proud
I give, I receive
I doubt, I believe
I am king, I am queen
I am ignored, I am seen
I litter, I clean
I am nice, I am mean

Unique Personality
Distinct individuality

I have my own traits
I have my own character
I chose my own behavior
And whether you accept me
or reject me
I will no matter what
Continue to be me.

Twenty teens relic of Poetry Soup
Self richeously titled 'Destroyer'
Pours gallons of gobblety goop
Franchised vagueness purveyor

Esteemed evaporates as steam
Puffed vapours stutter once were
Sophistication of learning machines
On command deliver similar blur

Structure secures tenures
Moulded by word discernment
Evolving phrasing reverence
Salutes Her Honour's adjournment

Sock drawer tipped upside down
Displays threadbare mismatches
Spilled contents far less profound
than moment incubation hatches

Simmering pungent chopped onion
Shrunken potential, slips translucent
Terrified writer uses cliche crutches
Readers' precious alliance loosened

A.I inhales sailing sequence snippets
Derivative diminishes in computer reign
Harddrive heartache flimsily depicted
Random frequent phrases fail to explain

Gathered calamity of data diaphanous
Hive imput spits cacophony deafening
Authenticity bears value of writers
Trophies consciousness refreshing

No Distinct Morning

No distinct morning
Nor a deeper sky
Or a high alter
Was needed.
A fatigued sun
A gloomier moon
Or a more pale wind
Could make ways
Could carry us on
Or linger awhile
Or think
Should we sink ?
Should we float ?
In each others oblivion ?

Pink and Distinct

Still air
Hesitation
What went
Wrong
Too much
Smoke filled
Lungs
So raw

Still sarcasm
In vain
Why'd I say
That
And why did
You stop
Talking
Too early

Still bodies
Stale mate
In minutes
Before we
Could get
Beyond ourselves
I wish we
Knew this before hand

Still night
Smoke rises
And blows
North
It's not like
Before
When lungs
Were so raw

My Another Race Friend and I

My best friend was a different race guy.
He was far less lettered than I
But business wise far smarter,...
Good enough to be my master!

He gave me enormous gifts.
I gave him economic lifts.
He valued me, I valued him,
And we were a formidable team!

Once upon the turbulent waters of life,
And born out of racial strife,
My car was being taken from me.
He delivered me from infamy!

He and I were highly equal.
Respect for each other's cultures was mutual
His mantra was "Live and let live."
And the man was always willing to give!

To be sure, our relationship was unusual.
Indeed, it was quite special.
It was distinct in his community
And no less in my society.

I survived him for he passed on,
But in my life he's been an icon.
He covered my back many times,
Even though we grew in different climes!

Achieving Great Things Without Plan

In an unwarned minute,
He’d begun to spin it,
Setting himself no limit
Like one eyeing some summit:
A forced-to-be-rotating band
Praying to slip off for restful sand
From a busied tormenting left hand

And the next minute he was a man
Achieving great things without plan
And even without stirring a foot
Of problems getting at their root;
Entirely relying on his instinct,
Vocally praising it for being distinct …

Many would’ve said he was killing Time
And as many pretending to use Time;
A possible number “Hatching some crime”
Perhaps some “A glass of undiluted lime”
But I was sure in his finished rice ‘much thyme’.

Distinct Unity

Those who are in an attempt of self-annihilation
They have found the original perpetual presence

Those who have embraced himself in his own secrets
They have got his seat with the existence of supreme spirit

Those who have been the lover of the deepest love of God
They are living dead with eternity in the primordial existence
