At times reality was a slap to the face
But it was something I had to embrace
It was hard to bounce back
While down path
But I didn't mind being an outcast
Now that
I understood how fast
This life was, as I watched the clouds pass
I did see
Divided teams
Which only reminded me
Beside a giant tree
Why others carried out actions violently
So I continued to move silently
Since I didn't want the attention
I headed my own direction
Without question
But continued to always respect kin

"Struggling"
I've been struggling
Doing things that are puzzling
It's rather troubling
How much liquor I've been guzzling
Shiiiit
I admit
I'm not proud at all
I got a problem with alcohol
It'll be my downfall
If I don't fix it
Instead of always getting twisted
On my end, there's been a lot of resistance
It's been hard, and I know that I'll miss it
But I want to follow through on my wishes
And get after serious riches
All the while, taking care of business
With god as my witness
Up until the very last minutes
And at the finish
I don't need anybody's forgiveness
Just got to make the best of my existence
Another relapse, because I always got to get my fixes
On the walls upside down triple sixes
Pictures of provocative b**** es
Blowing kisses
And a tank with fishes
As well as a few glow in the dark crucifixes
Life's tough, yet sometimes it isn't
Good riddance
Once again I've done did it
I'm starting to get suspicious
Of much more than the superstitious
I've been ambitious
Yet still oh so vicious
Sorry, can't relate, I'm not very religious
And that's just one difference
Use to be a jock and a nerd
Nowadays I burn so much herb
I've been feeling disturbed
Because there's been so much I learned
Yet the problems always return
When you're at your lowest or feeling superb
On my back the weight of an anvil
Been trying to leave it at the landfill
But keep ending up at a standstill
Damn girl,
You really gave me feelings of ecstasy
Turns out it wasn't always meant to be
You'd best believe
Working my ass off, to barely earn ends meet
Only to struggle on through the next week
Makes me feel like a ****ing dead beat
Life continues testing me
Getting the best of me, but I can't let it be
I'm ready to achieve
An outcome that turns out successfully
Living rather recklessly
Been at odds and making some enemies
Doing things that'll shorten longevity
And life expectancy
Having strange tendencies
And certain dependencies
Which could very well be the death of me
I TOLD YOU
I told you that Uncle Danny touched me
It hurt and made me cry
I told you I didn’t like him
You said I shouldn’t lie.
I told you my bra got snapped in class
That I was treated like a toy
Your response was simply
That boys will be boys.
I told you I was raped
By a man that I knew
Despite my tears and anger
You asked what did I do.
I told you a man came in my dorm
Violated me after breaking my door
When I reported to campus police
They asked me what I wore.
I told you my boss
Grabbed my breast at work
I wanted to file a complaint
You replied just ignore the jerk.
I got groped at the club last night
By this guy who was a punk
I wanted to call the police
You told me that he’s just drunk.
I’ve been telling you these things
Happen year after year
You say you are listening
But do you really hear?
I told you these things happened to me
As you laugh, scoff, and snort
Blaming and shaming endlessly
And you wonder why we don’t report.
I wonder when these excuses will end
Even though the road seems insurmountable
When will society stand
And start holding abusers accountable?
Until then I will continue forward
With my words as proof
I shall walk in the light
And stand in my truth.

Trying to steal from the poor
And start a global war
What good are you for?
Selling products that kill
So your pockets can get filled
Don't be flabbergasted if your own blood is spilled
No suprise
Another telling continual lies
Is always unwise
And going to decay away covered in swarms of flies
Regarding their demise
No care for the world
Too far gone and about to hurl
Can't even be there for your little girl
There's just no excuse, even if your an earl
Willing to sacrifice your own blood
And the ones you love
Is beyond dumb
Regardless of if your young

Where an everlasting breeze exists
Across the trees and cliffs
It was just me and a ship
Lost at sea adrift
I didn't really need a wish
Because I believed in gifts
As I continued to feed the fish
While remembering to plead the fifth
I wondered if I was really gone, would I ever be missed
No matter how choppy
The waters got I would not let it stop me
Even though the shores were always rocky
And it would be rather difficult to get out scot free
It was no time to be sloppy
So after several cups of coffee
I no longer felt like a zombie
And left when it was foggy
Even though to some it would've been kamikaze
I made it and took a moment to celebrate at a palm tree
Then when I was home, I copied
The answers to life on a floppy
While others were bragging and boasting about a bugatti
I hit them with the force of a tsunami
Dedicated to Robert Lindley
He is a singer of the dark. This dark
made of the blood he shed over a rhyme;
of the hell's cavities that keenly hark
to echo of his words; of space and time
he leads me through - this dark is the enzyme
which a true art grows from, the watermark
of talent, the reality that I’m
calling in Russian [nastay'aschi mrak]*.
Abandon hope all ye who enter here**:
his way of darkness is not for a mere
mortal.
* (rus.) real darkness

From Wisdom Born, Decades Fighting Fate's Cursed Hand
In youth, a young lad roars for much needed applause
in old age, wisely remains silent with just cause,
seeing the end near, some shed bitterest of tears
thinking such splashing supplications, angels hear;
whereas this old, callous world neither sees nor cares
what sorrow one displays or how much heart one shares
for savage the measure world uses to reward
dying lover or a talented, humble bard.
On pages offering up their softest virgin whites
are invisible castles beyond mortal sights,
each one begging for its wailing walls to withstand
massive cannon shots or a victor's crushing hand!
Poets, be they young or old, should a full pen hold true
to life, as spilling of ink- its treasures accrues!

Note:
Muse demanded I write this second poem on this first day
and it be dark. Raven agreed and Master Poe abstained.
Paper sang a blackened tune and pen danced a raging jig
as evil clouds rumbled while gathering in the far west
echoes drifted through broken window, and Hades jingled
a billion unbreakable chains. A older and wiser poet yielded
to avoid the usual headaches and aching pains!

"A Better Person"
Long ago I learned it
Nobody on this Earth is
Perfect
That's for certain
I'm determined
To be a better person
As I continue workin'
Ready to handle any burden
Not yet affirmative
We're still not so sure of it
If elsewhere life stirs and exists
A solar system full of curses and gifts
All these strange occurences
In a world that can be merciless
Below and above all surfaces
People being wasteful and others conservative
Food sold with and without preservatives
The first to quit
Far too often people see no way out, instead of the alternative
Stop doing yourself disservices
And making foolish purchases
Focus on virtousness
Considering that nothing remains in a state of permanence
Do you know who Tyler Durden is?
Are you familiar with Copernicus?
Sometimes disasters could've been averted if
People came together instead of trying to worship myths
Anything against the church, king or queen got discouragement
A sudden current shift
During a storm, waves continued to turn and flip
Nearby a ship was about to swerve and tip
So many serpents
Others being impertinent
And then there's those that want to put you in the dirt quick
Yet another work shift
Involving vertebrates
At times, limbs in dire need of a tourniquet
Planes in mid flight, occasionally hit with turbulence
Violent crimes causing mass hysteria and disturbances
Ever occuring festivals and tournaments
Homes with or without trees and ornaments
The greedy take it all, while others get nothing
Even though they earned a bit
At least a third of it
Some of which is interpretative
All these true stories and even more myths
Shout out to a select few herbalists
And journalists
I haven't yet discovered what my purpose is
But, it's all good, I'm still looking with earnestness
Prosper
Appreciate what this globe has to offer
Goodbye, I'm now six feet under where the surface is
Now you know, if you haven't yet heard of it

I heard a lot of sad voices
And made many bad choices
Until I understood that always being mad was pointless
I was feeling much better
With or without a jacket made of duck feather
I was up and ready for whatever
As others mocked with scrutiny
It did not ruin me
Because there was an opportunity
For proper unity
As I offered two or three
Pieces of copper jewellery
They rejected it and fought brutally
But were soon caught in the doom to be
Where there was not enough room to breathe
I knew that very few believed
In me and you truthfully
Unless we would soon achieve
Everything under the moon and seas
It was harder
To think even smarter
When trying to get farther
But it was worth something larger
If you had the ardor
And were willing to be a pathway carver
With or without a set of armour
When the surroundings got even darker
Several miles from the closest harbor
work in progress
Translation
Yesterday, I fell in the blackness of the night
Into the sea of sadness
Today I crawl out of the sea
Alone in the fog
Another poet is born
Many weeping people have come to my funeral with flowers,
Oh the red roses are so beautiful and the lilies divine;
My dress is of the softest rosy pink and it is all chiffon and wispy,
All my visitors are talking in low hushed voices.
They say I look beautiful and I want to smile but cannot,
It seems that my pink lips and my mouth are sewn shut;
My hands are folded upon my chest and I am holding a rosary,
Odd, I do not recall owning white pearl rosary beads.
Then they all leave and I am alone in this dark cold room,
Well, I might as well get some sleep in this dream;
So I try to close my eyes and realize they are already closed,
I hate this dream and I struggle to leave it behind.
The next morning the visitors are back with sad smiles,
They kiss my cheek and their tears are falling on me;
I am being carried away in this boxy thing with the lid closed.
But I can still hear everything, the prayers and songs.
Oh dear Lord, I want to wake up now, I am so afraid,
I feel movement of wheels beneath me, the turning;
And I sense the tranquility of the cemetery and green grass,
And then they are closing the door of the family crypt.
I am screaming, I am still breathing, don't leave me here.
Or am I? I'm not sure anymore if this is a dream . . . . .

In a dark alley; eating peaches, pears and plums
Awful friendly with hysteria
You should hear his jokes and his stereo
A self-induced recluse whom on a weary whim
Decided it was best he read the clues again
inspired by a kin of mine
THE STREET VETERAN
I have a lot of years in the game
the street life is hot
so i'm fierce in the flame
lookin' for the jackpot
and piercin' my name
In the street files
petrified of being hungry
so I grind for the money
while crooked cops are huntin' me
wantin' to put hand cuffs on me
If i'm caught, then I bail & I bounce out
i'm back on the streets to get meat[cash]
I gotta eat and they found out
when you got paper they can't keep
a true player locked up & I hounds out
with OG's
street vets who've seen the life
they're givin' me wisdom laced with with mo' P's
you know me, i'm stackin' my greeners right
i'm a cash fiend for life
caught up in this world fulla' these hustlers & raw dogs
we're all frogs
leapin' up tryin' to get tall yall
because these dollar bills will call hogs[a beast in the streets]
but how many mo' bullets gotta fly
too many hustlers tryin' to spot the pie
how many mo' street soldiers gotta die
in my eyes, i'm watchin' the fallin' of the masses
because gettin' this cash is
real hectic in a crime game, that's thick like molasses
and from dust to the ashes my passage
for survival is threatened,I fret so I'm sweatin'
all this money i'm nettin'
while i'm headin' for the Armageddon
it's real, so I gotta spit game
for the quick fame I flip thangs
wait for the shift change
gotta get a grip & maintain
Bloop Bloop[police sound]
now I gotta switch names
so I give up my alias
deceivin' the cops is my play because
in this systematic circle
their Gang is one of the shadiest
but I aint trippin' because i'm street life deep
and i'm tryin' to avoid the Pen & the graveyard
where most my mentors sleep.
Silent as mist, I roam,
my world is the still depths of blackest night.
In search, yes, endless search,
seeking the child of gray to black heart.
Though forewarned, bad children are abundant,
those pure of heart to be spurned in nights passage.
I find the child of innocent heart, distasteful,
not of interest nor matter to my need.
My quest is the rich bitter sweet taste
of the child in gray to black heart.
The darker tint is stronger to call,
those passed over this night, perhaps tomorrow’s prey.
Floating upon the silent night breeze,
hidden by shadow in moonless night, I travel.
Barriers none to stop my unquenchable thirst,
as black smoke through door or window I enter.
Without detection, unseen, unstoppable,
silently I creep to bedside of my chosen.
In a ghostly embrace the unruly child
is carried into the night,
to my place of dark secrets, not be seen again.
Heed my warning, children of wicked ways.
I will find you in my time,
you cannot hide nor fool me.
Your fate lies in your chosen play,
be good of spirit, pure of heart.
Lest I steal you away, as you sleep in the night,
for I am the Boogeyman.

The thunder quaking
While there were structures shaking
And pieces of lumber breaking
During this undertaking
I would leave no others waiting
Down on their luck and stuck, in the gutter while its raining
Are we cursed?
As others in the sea surf
It could really be worse
But value the extreme worth
Of such teamwork
That could lead to a green earth
It's difficult to fathom
So imagine
What could happen
If everyone had more enthusiasm
And compassion
As if it spread like a chain reaction
Would there be satisfactions
In a place with the vastest canyons
So what if I'm seen as reclusive
One can inspire a movement
That pushes for improvement
No matter what, I will prove it
Even when it's hot and humid
And time for consuming extra fluids
You better take a good look at yourself and be honest about what you did
