Best Creditors Poems
I'm in me bath here, with a box of red cheer,
yeah a box of red cheer, beer's too bloody dear.
Me mind's wanderin twixt big **** and riches,
bein able to scratch at what itches,
without scratchin the bum out your britches.
If they think you got what,
they'd rather they'd got,
mate, hang onto your hat,
they'll bloody take that.
That girl in black tights, so jam-packed with delights,
nights full of delights in them slow movin tights.
She's not, like Jacko reckons, a whore.
Wouldn't lie on me bare wooden floor.
Christ, I did nothin to get to be poor.
And you can't pay what's due
so your creditors sue?
Funny old world, not half.
But good for a laugh.
I can't help but hear next door's shoutin and tears,
all their shoutin and tears, I can hear em from here,
through the stem of me glass on the wall.
Pray to God he don't hit her at all.
I'm half pissed and spliffed and I never could brawl.
But I stand in the queue,
for a place in the zoo.
Heard you shouldn't have pride.
They wouldn't have lied.
A party's upstairs but I can't breathe their airs.
I won't breathe their airs, them there upstairs.
So I fill the bathroom with me smoke.
All those girls shaggin some other bloke.
I just lie here and soak and suck in me toke.
What's it like not to do
what your needs need you to,
to beg borrow or steal,
to make stuff come real?
I hear downstairs' soul hit his lavatory bowl.
That porcelain bowl gets the whole of his soul,
as I wring out the bladder of red.
All the sweetest of girls, Jacko said,
have big whites to their eyes that aint never've bled.
There aint nothin so nice
as those whitest of whites
on rich girls
with sweet arses
in slow movin tights.

Ballad
Everybody needed something,
and there was always something in the world that needed somebody,
debt is all about connections to affections,
sustenence to stimulus is only half of the formula,
igniting the impetus is provenance of the pursuit,
debt's birth is in the body of temptation,
in the language of lust,
we all find reasons for indebtedness as architects provide strengths for stones,
always a tune to toil for, innumerable impulses to imbibe in the heart's hollows,
needs & wants wants & needs,a crisscrossing of the conscious,
vacillation like breath on candle flame,
on which branch will your bird discover the berry,
what good is satisfying the basics if we are denied exploration of the scenics,
wonderment wrapped in wishes of mocking mortality,
robes of rose petals,
the less we create for ourselves the more we fawn for the fingers of others fantasies,
impatience an instrument for the Devil to revel and drum, strum and hum,
born into a carnival of the careless and criminal
the Devil has a dream and your his favorite dancer,
you hear in his voice a reflection of yourself and drown in delerium,
a community of stage hands supports your every scream
and silence your shouts for sovereignty,
buy the whole of the basement
but be prepared to be buried there,
a necropolis of creditors and debtors,
expired expressions on the faces of orphans kept alive by water colors
from the pallet of pleasure and perfumes of paradise,
as the spectacle ends the Prince of poverty greets us where dogs bark baldly
and the air is gray with cold,
he grips our hands with a lion's paw and cries coolly -

Didactic
Some of my fears are warranted
some might be coming true
but I've coined a lovely catch-all phrase
to keep me from feeling blue...
“Probably not today” I say
as my health is in decline
I'll probably not fall dead today
just gripe, and groan, and whine.
“Probably not today” I claim
as I look inside my cupboard
I shouldn't starve to death today
no, the thought is quite absurd!
“Probably not today” I state
as I think he loves me less
but he's not fallen out of love in a day-
no, it's needless, senseless stress...
“Probably not today” I judge
that my creditors won't be inclined
to seize, and freeze, and take away
all the things I consider mine.
“Probably not today, my dear”
I comfort myself by saying
the roof will hold another day
'though the shingles are decaying.
“Probably not today” I think
no, it's not as I had predicted-
although the rent's a few days behind
I probably won't be evicted.
“Probably not today” I chant
as the storms about me howl
I probably won't be blown away
'though the weather is quite foul.
“Probably not today” I add
as the list is growing so
that I hardly can keep track of all
my probable someday-woes.
“Probably not today” I fear
probably not, I guess...
I'll probably not stop thinking these things
'though it causes a terrible mess!

Look at the floor of heaven
Laid with patterns of bright gold
For us, they are but little orbs
But in his motion
Like angels, they sing
So many songs of harmony
To the souls of immortals
And while this muddy vesture of decay
Does gross in them
We mortals cannot hear it.
Hold your fortune for your bliss
A gentle scroll
A diamond ring
All gone
Loss upon loss
Life upon life
Death upon death
Pain upon pain
A man of the people
The villainy the beasts taught him
That he executed
Until things fell apart
Judge him not
And mourn him as a legend
Chinualumogu!
For whose sake
The Arrow of the gods granted justice.
Christopher Okigbo called them beasts
David Diop called them vultures
For me
They were weeds on our soil
Colonial masters
Who awakened our sleeping lions
Achebe threw the bomb
And died before it exploded
This cooled his friends
And awakened his enemies
They laughed at his losses
And scorned all his gains
He sought no revenge
Yet his silence scrapped all nations
Thwarted their bargains
And with two heads of fools
He repaid them for one
And then There was a Country
He chose not what many men desired
And rejected the barbarous multitude;
Crystallized the inferiority complex
And fought back to back
For Africa.
No ill luck stirred at first
No tears but of our shedding
No sighs but our breathing
Various creditors sprang
Enemies arose
Yet he'd give up nothing for the wilderness of monkeys
Nor for the generation of wolves
An ambassador of love rarely seen
His pleas were for the taunted and corrupt
And with his graciously seasoned works
He obscured the shows of evil
What damned error!
But some superior would bless and approve it with a text
Hiding the grossness with faint ornaments.
Look on beauty
And you shall see
It is purchased on the weight
Often have you been told
That all that glitters is not gold
Farewell, the hope of Africa
For now, your suit is cold
We love and miss you
But our prayers with you shall be
Oh, Lord!
Arise and await
For his gentle spirit
Unto you dear God
Commits itself to be directed
The Beautyful ones are indeed not yet born
But the born indeed are most beautifully precious
Adieu Albert!

I am going to write a poem about peace
My brother-in-law passed this week
And my mother-in-law was all frantic and in shock
I just want to tell her that all is well
And that God will be taking care of her
Are all is well
when there's so much things going on?
Are all is well when you just lost a loved one?
Are all is well when your whole world is falling apart
and the person you had been relying on is no longer there?
Are all is well when you have creditors at your door
and you don't know where your next meal is?
Yes my friend
All is well because you have the One who is in control
All is well because you have a Deliverer who will give you peace
and deliver you out of darkness
All is well because "He will never leave you or forsake you"
All is well because you have the One who knows what is to be and what is to come
All is well because He lives in you and will not give you over to the evil one
All is well because "greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world"
All is well because He knows so and said so
Isaiah 3:10 "Tell the righteous it will be well with them"
2 King 5:22 "Everything is all right"
"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11)
So you see, God is in control
When things fall apart around you, you will not fall apart
You will be like a new leaf taking on new oxygen
Ahh leaf does not take oxygen
I mean you
You will take new oxygen
Blowed it to you from the old man - the Master himself - God
So don't worry, okay?
Peace will go with you
Love, the Lord

I accuse
Bankers who compulsively their creditors lure
Bid them colossal loans and obscure
To erect fantasies and a castle in Spain forge
Later arise manacled with a dolor mortgage
Employees who secretly squeeze through
Evacuate their jobs unattended and eschew
Occupy hours galore in cafés gossiping
With prolonged queues jilted lingering
Doctors who diagnose organic diseases
Shirk fragile,grief-stricken souls
Administer drugs to accrue vulnerability
Burden their expenses and nurture insanity
Entrepreneurs who hatch gigantic edifices
Reap colossal sums of almighty dollars
Abjure to construct a hovel for the beggary
To harbor their rat-infested despondency
Yet could medication be of any use
To what a whole epoch has abused ?

Waiting in line,
Before the ATM of closed banks for 60 Euros to withdraw under the scourging sun
Old and invalid people are submitted to this daily torture, constantly moaning, for Our country’s suffering and for our own devastation,
While twenty-seven percent the unemployment has climbed
Forty percent the salaries and pensions went down and twenty percent the taxes up
Rendering hundreds of thousands of families poor with no money to feed themselves And their children
When
Close to one hundred thousand of our countrymen have attempted suicide of whom Ten thousand, unfortunately, have succeeded in ending their lives only in five years Because of the ruinous austerity measures taken to pay Greece's lenders
Parthenon, is mourning Democracy's assassination in the place of its birth
By the mighty creditors that suck the blood out of our veins
The Greek government in agony has turn to our allies for help to restore our Economy and thus to prevent the catastrophe that is approaching,
But the creditors, most of them anyway, with Germany leading the way,
To obliterate Greece wish with their unbearable and inhuman terms they have set
As though were our enemies and not our partners, because
Humanity has been lost in their hearts and only for them the profit counts
And I, one of the suffering Greeks, that shares the same lot as any,
In anxiety, a few words try to arrange for the tragedy of Greece to illustrate as a New Euripides or Sophocles but to no avail,
So I am waiting in line under the scourging sun, hoping my turn to come,
The sixty Euros, if am lucky, to get into my hands before the AMT is empty!

Time is a balance sheet,
Assets and Liabilities,
Time in asset,time out liability,
Asset over liability equal like a balance sheet,
In Asset no change, liability no change,
No debtors no creditors and no bankruptcy,
Time in and time out equal,a strong balance sheet!

Blank verse
I hated my payday
Creditors I couldn't pay
The pain I felt was like one of a stingray
O! Lord I pray
This misery can't stay
Please flee
Hear my plea
Look at me
My eyes are bloody
Fly away, misery
My Lord please, lend me a key
I'm on my knee
Asking a shadow of your tree
I need to be free
Please give me the key
To unlock my misery
What a relieve
I'm no longer naïve
I standing before you with disbelieve
You are swift to hear
Now I believe! I believe!
Today I'm a man
Respected by my woman
Because my Lord you are real man
You gave me what I needed as man
Means to provide for my family like other man
Thank you Lord, you are a real man
Now I believe.
Because I believed
I did not lose hope to continue to live
Contentment surpass me I leave
To work for my children to better their lives
Now my pay day I enjoy like being on leave
All this was impossible If I did not believe
Now I believe!

It is a large Michigan city in the Midwest.
For years, it has stood out among the best.
It has been a busy hub of metropolitan activity.
This is the center of the domestic automobile industry.
Local sports fans have been happy as a lark
with new places like Ford Field and Comerica Park.
However, things have not been going so smoothly.
There have been recent dark days in this municipality.
The City of Detroit has filed for bankruptcy.
They cannot meet obligations when they come due.
This is leaving bondholders and creditors blue.
How are city officials going to pull the entity through?
Reduce spending and raise taxes. What else can they do?

A long day at work bills piling up high I just wanna sit down and cry, cry, cry. My water bill is one hundered twenty one bucks I really wanna ask is water this much. The babysitter decided to quit today I owe her a whole three weeks pay. Oh! how I need my lights to read and write. They turned me off right in the middle of the night. Creditors are trying to call my number but the phone is disconnected and it won't be on until December. Damn! I'm so overdue sometimes it will be cheaper to live like the woman in the shoe. Can't get a loan not until the next ten years. I still owe them back pay from the last past five years. Struggling isn't at all easy it can bite you in the butt and give you a good beating. Borrowing money is way out the question. I owe so many people they are ready to start fussing. Overdue is all my bills that are unpaid. I just wanna enter myself in the house for the insane! I just have to take one day at a time and learn to pay my bills right on the dime.

It happened again this afternoon
A lady requested my autograph
Mistaking me for Kenny Rogers
That sure gave me a great big laugh
If only I had Kenny's money
I'd be chuckling all the way to the bank
Right now I'm avoiding all my creditors
My bank account's coming up blank
Perhaps I'll become a male prostitute
An easy way to make a few bucks
Still look pretty good for a dude my age
Though I sometimes waddle like a duck
But perhaps that's not for this old guy
My morals are quite high you know
It's extremely rare when I'm at the beach
For any of my white bits to show
Guess I'll continue this sneaky charade
Sign Kenny on my restaurant checks
Why not, I might as well take advantage
Of our amazing similarities, by heck!

Mister,
can you help a poor rich fella out
Right now, I’m kinda down on my luck,
and that sucks
Will you help me out, please ...
can you spare a couple million bucks
That’ll be just enough to see me through,
get me on my feet and off my back
It’s hard being a penthouse top cat
living like a cellar bottom-feeding rat
My refined, high cultured ways is under cash flow attack,
I just need to re-up my portfolio mojo
with a small injection of a little greenback smack
Think you might can help me out of a fix like that
I’m really jones-ing to get my wealthy high-life back
It’s tough sledding as of now,
living in some rinky-dink,
three-star downtown Hilton hotel
My current low income life is back taxes living hell
A most unbearable situation
for me a Manhattan uptown swell
I’m business royalty ... got Rockefeller princely pedigree,
but now I’m in a serious fiscal pinch —
and my banking knight fealty pals are shunning me
At this very moment, all my stocks are failing,
my major investments are all ailing
Market fluctuations speculatively are poised to ruin me,
knock me off those corporate boardroom cushy seats ...
straight into hard, rock bottom poverty
Got disloyal creditors wanting to toss me
and my french poodle Mimi out on the street
So once again, I’m begging you ...
Brother,
can you help a poor rich fella out
I’ve been kinda down on my luck lately
Will you help an honest American out, please ...
If you can you spare it,
a couple million bucks will set me at ease

Light Verse
The Cockies are in trouble, they can’t live off the land
Mortgaged out of existence with the need to expand
Hope like the land eroding, luck just giving out
Bushies fighting continually, fire, floods and drought
And so the Banks are now the terror every cockie dreads
As they climb into debt fighting their overhead
Yet here in the big cities do we even bloody care
About their rural problems, the despair the bushies share
Streuth the bloody farmers live off the fat of the land
What galahs to think sugar a great way to expand
The fat cats watch their stocks rise in world market shares
The need to make big profits about Aussie battlers who cares
Then shares dropping to the bottom and life ain’t so sweet
Everyone struggling with mortgages they now can’t meet
Of course the Aussie farmer has been down this road before
But its getting harder the Banks now shut the door
Payment after payment, to keep the dream alive
No more borrowings so how will they now survive
Friendly creditors turn nasty destroying many lives
Scrubbing floors and cleaning the lot of many wives
Men trying to keep head above water, shattered lie the dreams
Australia where are you heading a disillusioned cockie screams
While Bankers in their ivory Towers no comfort do they lack
They the mortgage holders reap the rural lands outback
Farms, cattle and sheep stations, for generations were owned
By proud settlers and farmers those Kings are now dethroned
By prices and rising taxes, the bloody creditors and Banks
The bottom of the barrel, the battling farmers only thanks
Many facing foreclosure, they have nowhere else to go
While others are trying desperately, a profitable seed to sow
Farms soon under the hammer to the highest bidder they're sold
Blood suckers watch what you are doing, when you sell your soul for gold.

Rhyme
My creditors surround me like a sea, the wave’s crash upon me so fierce I can hardly
breathe. I feel so a lone, I know that it is my flesh that speaks. For I know in God alone that
he supplies all my needs. He becomes all things to me. No matter how rough the path may
be, my strength is in the Master‘s hand that He has lent to me.
For as it was once said so long ago…. The Lord is my shepherd; my provider and strength. I
shall not want; nor lack for need. He maketh me to lie in green pastures; He gives a pleasant
place to call my home. He leadeth me beside still waters, as He guides me peacefully,
through this journey of life alone. He restoreth my soul; as He brings me back each day
renew. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for His name sake; as He drives me forth
in the right path, His name becomes engraved in the every essence of my being. Though I
walk through the valley of the shadow of death; I will fear no evil, even though my life may
be carry to the brink of death, For you Oh God, is with me. Thy rod and thy staff they
comfort me; Your scepter is my authority; your staff is my support, my peace in you I find.
Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You Oh Lord places a
strong hold over the attacks that come against me You spreads it out on a table arrayed in
Victories. You oh Lord anointest my head with oil as my cup runneth over; as you place me
in time and satisfy my soul with a rich fragrance and beauty unknown. Surely goodness and
mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; from the mountain top to the valley through the
good times and bad, My path will He light, with His favor and kindness of His love. I will dwell
in the house of the Lord forever, and, forever in the Masters hands.
