Premium Member World We Can Be Proud Of

In splendor of meadows gentle winds blow
As traversing high-low mighty rivers flow
And sun never sets as blue skies ever glow--
Seasons bloom there, ample crops grow
And peaceful are domains where birds roam
Devoid of trepidation from famine or foe.

Frolic in playgrounds where children laugh,
Grown-ups always walk tranquil serene paths,
Intellect prevails as wisdom outlaws wars
And across oceans extend gallant helping hands
As enduring love fuels brotherhood at large.

Divine is fortitude of eight billion strong
From all faiths, colors, cultural backgrounds
Striving in unison for solemn human cause:
To rid of what divides--seek common ground.

We trade, we innovate, we build, we believe
We share, we live, let every nation be
We learn, we educate, respect one another
We argue, we listen, and confer with honor--

Such is global paradigm of model new world.

Premium Member Holy Moses

'Twas high noon on Mount Horeb as Moses munched his gefilte lox.
He was lolling about taking a restful break from tending Jethro's flocks,
When he was startled out of his wits as a nearby bush burst in flames!
Now alert, he exclaimed, "What th...! Someone here is playing games!"

He was bewildered to note that the shrub wasn't being consumed by fire!
When he heard a voice calling, "Hey, you there!" he really began to perspire!
It turned out that I AM was calling him from the midst of that conflagration!
"You're on holy ground! Remove your Guccis! I'll brook no desecration!"

Moses meekly inquired, "Is it I, Lord, that you wish to confer with?"
"Yea! I've a proposition to discuss and you'll heed My words forthwith!
You, my boy, are hereby volunteered to lead My people to the Promised Land!
I've seen their misery and I need you to free them from the Pharaoh's hand!"

"But Lord, you know that I murdered a feller there and am a wanted man!
Besides, I ain't good at public speaking. Please find someone else if You can!"
"Fiddle Faddle! This magical staff will sort out your problems along the way!
I'll hear no more sass! Now hop on your ass! I'll brook no further delay!"

"A cloud by day and fire by night will guide you and I'll provide manna, sonny!
I'm confident that you can lead this motley host to the land of milk and honey!"
Their many trials and tribulations nearly drove beleaguered Moses to tears,
As the malcontented Israelites wandered about in the desert for forty years!

A Vultures Homily

I am vulture
My soul case may be repugnant,
However, I have every sawbones decimal
On my speed dial
Before any croacker decrees justice
On a soul case,
They confer with me

My logbook contains a docket
Of every Golgotha and slaughterhouse on the planet
I am on first name basis
With every casket maker, mortuary Steward and proprietor

I am the fiend no soul case wants to see,
Hear or dream about

My name send's shivers down the spine of mortals
I am a friend in need and indeed;
I am the curator in every country
Where war and conflict thrive
No one thinks of me
And no one want's me as a pet

I am the dark one; the dark continent
I am vulture, the patient one

Wedges

He looked at me
huge chestnut wedged
in happy teeth,
bushy tail,
fully fluffed,
soft warning
of a hard winter
approaching.
He did not have time
to talk
no chatter today,
only business,
no time to dance
with the Robins,
confer with the
Cardinals,
hang around the
water cooler.
The Vee’s of summer
honking
as they battle the
gridlock of migration,
a strange mimicking
of the farewell
to Cape Cod -
back-ups at the
Bourne and Sagamore
bridges. The warmth
of summer would
recede, as a late tide
on sunset’s emptying beach,
the cool ocean breeze
erase the evidence
from the sand.
Seagulls would bemoan
the shortage
of French fries,
return to the
fishing boats and
a sushi diet.
Dogs will sit
and whine as
they watch the
children disappear
into the big yellow boxes.
The brushstrokes of Fall
will color the horizon,
groups of crispy,
crayola colored leaves
dance around the
trunks of trees,
crocheting a quilt
to tuck under the
chin of old shade.
The songs
the tones and tenor,
the daily demeanor
will take on an urgency,
a purpose.
The squirrel stops,
perhaps a rodent
coffee break, sits
on the fence,
in the sun
as if reflecting,
and is off again
to the base of the
old Chestnut tree
to fill his mouth
with wedges of
the future.

Premium Member Passage

Forge writes that fling pulse that appeal,
Thought ever springs constructs you feel.

Tale from mere vines as words congest,
Savvy crafts lines that sparkles fest.

From here to there and then some more,
Seek twisted fare in shades and shores.

Hints gather tints in colours cheer,
Vivid the mint where strains endear.

Fund passage bold with crafty say,
Page now unfold such slightly sway.

Encode the feel of lost charades,
In time find will in lines you trade.

Unleash the glow of words that come,
Surge, urge and flow prime how feel sums.

Cite if you must the path words swirl,
Soul lives a trust in this rough world.

Confer with time where space allows,
Poignant sounds rhyme with sweat of brow.

Cacophony of Truths

Hey Hey Hey Hey

Come Listen to what I say.

Listen to my Cacophony of truths that burns even the roots of foundation.
From our Nations Heart we wish for a different part.

Let's give this a kick start.
You know your part yea you play the shark.
preying on the weak.
With a global Policy that lets you police the world instead of your own country.

While the rich get richer and the poor poorer.
The ladder of social status and "Proper" morels will no longer hem us in.
No more reform only reduction and subjugation of rules that all men can be Prevalent to.

Take a step back and take a hit while your at it.
Don't forget to inhale.
Don't check the mail wait a while to confer with those important to you in this world.

You Chaste men Speak the word but I know few that live humble.
You persecute the unpretentious and crush the Taxpayers that you are sworn to uphold.
Those you slight and scorn will grab you by the horns and slay you.

I Am Just a Woman...

I can’t fly a jet plane or bulldog a steer
But I can cuddle a child and calm his fear
I have never flown to Paris in the Spring
But I have proudly worn his wedding ring
Never understood physics or trigonometry
But I know a lot about Texas history
Can’t say I have been around a NASCAR track
I have stood by my word and never looked back
I sing off key sometimes, I know
Singing praises to Him that I love so

I am just a woman...
Not a beauty queen
Riding in a white limousine
A woman who is middle aged
Who lives alone and is not afraid
One who has taught school over twenty years
Lived my life with much laughter and tears
Borne a child and lost another
Been little sister to my sis and brothers
Believes in God and trusts in Him
Doesn’t worry about being slim and trim
One you can always count on being around
To cheer you up when you're feeling down
Willing to share your heavy load
Walk that extra mile down the road

I am just a woman...
So if I never see the Taj Mahal
In this life, I have had a ball
I’ll never have any extra money
But I have a man who calls me honey
Never visit the Pope in Rome
But I have a wonderful place to call home
Won’t be asked to confer with the president
But in America, I am a happy resident
I will never have fortune or fame
But I can still be proud of my name

Begone From Me

A
thorn you
are in my
side; contempt for
you I must struggle
to hide; my confidence
in you will not abide; you
confer with my foes like the in
and outgoing tide; though, I wish you
well as long as your distance becomes wide.

Duel

confer with your men
me or him
him or me
i will not let him make
an orphan of my daughter
face each other
he turns to me
a bittersweet smile
he must know
he is standing in the place
his heart and soul
was enveloped
in Death’s arms
wait.
doesn't he have
children as well?
count to ten
my finger is already on
the trigger
as the numbers
i know so well
stumble out of my mouth
Three, two, one
he points toward the sky
raise a glass to freedom
my trigger is already down
wait!

but i have already made
orphans of his children
and a widow
of his wife

Etude In Prose

Etude in Prose
{SCRIPT to prose}

SCRIPT::
I am afraid you presume too much
Mr Battersea If I have lent you
reason to believe this
   I assure you otherwise

Accept my apologies please Miss Schofield
I did not mean to offend News I have heard
inclined me to give the event creedence

Mr Battersea I advise you not to indulge
yourself in the meanderings of gossip
I hope I shan't hear any more of this matter

If I may Miss Schofield allow me to offer
apology by means of Miss Schofield
would you accompany me to dinner?

My Mr Battersea you catch me unawares
Let me check my diary and I shall forward
you my reply through Bertrand, my father's valet

Shall we return to the party?
Yes yes we shall

prose

Excuse me Mr Battersea whatever
are you saying?
If there was a notion to pursuade
you to lend creedence to this matter
let me tell you that the
case is otherwise

I do beg your pardon
Miss Schofield News that I had
heard gave me cause to have concern
I wish I had not brought the matter up
     even though it seems absurd
This Garden's secludity
  provides the perfect opportunity
to approach you on this matter
  as is my concern

Please allow me to advise you
Mr Battersea if I may That meanderings
of gossip can lead one's mind astray
For it is many I would rather that
collect in idle chatter And matters grow
in great degrees as this case shall be
On this matter I hope not to speak about it anymore today

If I may Miss Schofield allow that I
may offer by means of an apology
   Miss Schofield Will you please
do me the Honour to accompany me
For Dinner so that our company is not
parted in an unpleasant way?

My Mr Battersea you have caught me
unawares Allow me to confer with
my commitments I shall send word
on the morrow with my father's Valet Bertrand

Shall we return to the Marquis?

Yes yes We may

Delighted Outcome

I believe couples should confer with each other
before making any decisions
if you need them to stay with you that shouldn't smother
but should instead provide provisions
there shouldn't be any unreason
for to be apart
doing things with each other without reason
helps align the heart
you pick your friends wisely
that way they won't interfere
with your relationship pattern tidy
and for terms that endear
I'm going to be careful
to practice this particular thing
in hopes that it will be returned in this vessel
and peace of mind it will bring

Premium Member Halloween Party

She
peers through
the window
and views with awe
as the evil mage casts spell after spell.
His dark powers cruelly destroy the
children’s plans for
Halloween
party
fun.

She decides to confer with the local
dragon who can
notably
dispel
spells.
The
dragon
breaks the mage’s
evil spells and
kids celebrate Halloween party fun.

Premium Member Morality

Let your mind wander to mull over memories
Gently close your eyes until your worries ease
Let happiness wash over you in waves that delight
If you have faith in God, all will be alright

Not in a moment, maybe not today
Life's troubles are not here to stay
Other pandemics may happen, more horrors come along
What doesn't kill us can only make us strong

Strong enough to realise that without doubt
What brought this pandemic in can take it out
If it is an invisible enemy, the World needs to fight
We should all get together and confer with all our might

It may be a test for all to see the light of day
If we want immortality, we can't do things this way

Premium Member Do poets write what readers hear?

Poets have multiple aims, modes, reasons to write,
Which may match what readers want downright.

Some poets are simply lovers of words and language.
How they twist and turn, and meld on a page.

Some readers love the sound of words that beat,
A tune where rhyme and rhythm softly meet.

Some write to teach, profound knowledge to bestow,
They search for answers that readers need to know.

Some write about love and how it feels.
To find words that only love brings in appeals.

Some write about puzzle in spins and loops,
To answer questions with hoopla hoops.

Some write of myths, to stir and inflame,
the gods, ghosts and ghouls you can name blame.

Some paint lovely scenes in colorful hues,
The beauty of nature to embellish and infuse.

Some write with fire, brimstone in hand,
About war and fighting bedeviled be damned

Some inspire awareness of unnoticed things,
Of storms triggered by flaps of butterfly wings.

Some write of very personal things in their life
that others may confer with their joys and strife

Some write to bang, jangle apathy awake,
with the strange arranges of clangs they make.

Some herald their beliefs, faith and devotion
to God, and the worship they want to set in motion.

Some write in vague smokes, mirrors and screens
To deliberately confound, confuse you in teems.

So write what you will, read what you must,
The outcome, when all is done is the line in the dust.
