Premium Member Powers Out -4 Poet Collab

Here I sit in the dark of night
Using my laptop for a little light
Our power has gone out,and it's quite an eerie site
In this town that's so dead,it kinda causes a little fright
I found and lit a small candle, though it doesn't pay
For it will probably burn out before my battery fades away
It's really kind of peaceful, that indeed I must say
Without all the noise that I hear in the light of day
Chirpping birds, and noisey neighbors, have all gone away
So I must once again familiarise myself with my place
Reassure myself without the dependent sence of eyes grace
The darkness comforts me,and brings me piece of mind
A comfort in the light of day, that I can never seem to find
Still we need the daylight,to see all the beautiful things
The sky,the earth in harmony, the beauty of that bird as it sings
So let this battery die,and let that candle flicker out
For it's in the darkness of your mind, you learn what love's about

The Perfect Poem

As unfocused and natural as breathing
As unrestricted as dreaming
Creativity derives from formless –
From liberty

Don’t think
Write now
Correct later
This is poetry in its most perfect form
Just like when you’re taking a test and your first thought is most likely correct

It’s okay to jump from one thought to the next

As long as you have a trail to look back on
You can recall information

Don’t abandon your first thoughts of originality!
Flow and flow with your original thoughts filled with your unique personality

Be free
Be you and you will be surprised at all who will be inspired by you

Don’t muffle your emotion
Don’t muffle your first original thought
Be free
Be you and you’ll be amazed at the hues that leak on paper from you

My Extended Version of '' My Condensed Prayer '' By Britt

She prays; gods halo again brightly creeping from underneath the shadowed covers of comfort. Slowly awakening her blissful HEArT re*collabrated and re*juvinated to start the day quietly tip-toed inside her peaceful home. A plantation thats shown to be told, firmly planted is all she'll ever know, thank you god my almighty straight to the LION'S den's mouth, as her heart is poured out in extreme greatness. She announced her DOGS EYE is not in pain anymore. So Thank You god for you are my only GOD!!!! You've engaged this HEArT strongly SHAPPED, I do love me; and the WOMAN I have become. In these last few weeks she has learned GENUINE SOULS do care like you, as parents we will keep her fruitful n' clothed. She'll learn that LOVE IS: more powerful then anything imaginable as you have, you image this world through a precious eye;(my DOG) across the sky in colorful RAE'S of skittles I can taste the RAINBOW... COLLABRATING IN THE CLOUDS... Watching SUN~SET DAWN DOWN fast asleep holding on to those DREAMS along side my dog. Teaching everyone to LOVE with/out SELFishness, just against GRACE For her HEART Is BIGGER Than the UNIVERSE.... As she chooses FREE~WILL!!!!!!
WILLINGLY!!! I Know now her Entire FAMILY HouseHold is in good HEALTH, SAFEly hidden from DANGER N' HARM,and has had A Peacful nights rest beside the warm fire I will lay;as she closes her eyes during nights break.

Premium Member Claudelle

Claudelle, we must go away and start a new life.
This fruitless sharecropping has just cost me my wife.
Believe me, in every way, I loved your mother.
Frustrated and annoyed, she left me for another.

I know you were heartbroken about what happened to Linn.
You will love someone else after we begin again.
A bunch of other men want to hold you in their arms.
They fall peril to all of your feminine charms.

Your mother wanted you to marry a man fat and old.
To her, he seemed to be worth his weight in gold.
You knew deep inside he was not right for you.
Never did you have feelings for him that were true.

What sadness and grief love sometimes brings.
Your flirting and coquetry have made a mess of things.
Too many men are now competing for you.
We will leave these surroundings and start anew.

Based on the novel "Claudelle Inglish" by the late Erskine Caldwell and the 1961 film with the same title.

Boardwalk

On the boardwalk, skies and waters a majestic blue
On the boardwalk it’s me and you
Together hand in hand.
Together we just bought this square of land.
Monopolizing from
People who landed to hear the wave’s drum
People who landed to hear the ocean rumble
Making it last.
So this game doesn’t go to fast.
Richer by the time
People land on the boardwalk and pay a little more than a dime.
This is the boardwalk palace.
This boardwalk for my king.
And I shall be your Queen
On the boardwalk, skies and waters a majestic blue
On the boardwalk it’s me and you
Together hand in hand.
Profiting more than money from this land.
More than beauty, riches, and power
But the one thing that really towers
Love
And the memories
On the boardwalk, skies and waters a majestic blue
On the boardwalk it’s me and you
Together hand in hand.

Come on, albino. Tell me where’s the gold?
They say you know how to look.
Where is it on my farm?

Premium Member The Foolish Farmer

Ty Ty Walden, what are we to do with you?
Your farm has steadily decreased in value.
People think you are a fool and not a bit funny.
You are not growing crops that would make you money.
Ty Ty, what about this foolish endeavor?
It is that buried gold you are digging to discover.
Your grandfather’s fortune is what you are hoping to see.
There are more unsightly holes all over your property.
Gold fever it seems has enveloped you still.
You even imprisoned an albino against his will.
The town is too dependent on the operation of the mill.
The closing has the population up in arms.
Son-in-law Will is enticed by Griselda’s charms.
Your troubles are compounding into a plethora.
How can you survive in those backwoods of Georgia?

Cosmic Glitter In the Coalsack

The protoplanetary phase
of nebulae sidereal
occurs in astral later days
before the stage ethereal
when cloud impressions like Monets
create new star material.

At edge of inky Coalsack cloud,
nebula Caldwell Ninety-nine,
amidst the murk of dusty shroud,
PPN stellar redesign
with brilliance beauteous endowed
near verge of Coalsack’s borderline

was seen by Hubble shining bright
as thrust through atramentous dark
in cryptic interstellar sleight
of hand by cosmic Matriarch,
who lavishes great Nature’s light
of vital sun with living spark.

Our Mother Earth her watch shall keep
o’er woodlands wild and oceans deep
the river vales and mountains steep,
o’er stately swans and eagles’ sweep.
The laughing brooks on hillsides leap,
though loons lament while willows weep.
Still humankind seems sound asleep
to deeds they sow and what they’ll reap.

Yet mindless soils of mires and mucks
can sprout a forget-me-not plot,
as in the constellation Crux
that PPN midst sooty spot
is blossoming per starry flux
from out the caliginous clot.

This vision in our Milky Way,
might it portend scenario
of what in years, some millions, may
be future for the Coalsack’s woe
of present dark, when stardust stray
will coalesce and set aglow

with brightness all the ‘nuggets coal’
in ebon Coalsack, so they flare
from gravity’s attractive role
in grand combustions here and there,
as if were touched by flame the whole
until illumined everywhere?

Explanation: This image captures a small region on the edge of the inky Coalsack Nebula, or Caldwell 99. Caldwell 99 is a dark nebula — a dense cloud of interstellar dust that completely blocks out visible wavelengths of light from objects behind it. The object at the center of the image is a (much smaller) protoplanetary nebula. The protoplanetary nebula (PPN) phase is a late stage in the life of a star in which it has ejected a shell of hydrogen gas and is quickly heating up. This stage only lasts for a few thousand years before the protoplanetary nebula’s central star reaches roughly 30,000 Kelvin. At this point, the central star is producing enough energy to make its surrounding shell of gas glow, becoming what’s known as a planetary nebula.

Premium Member Trail's End

I'm on my way to a different day
A day of long ago.
Where the buffalo roam
And the long horns groan
As down the trail they go.

There isn't much time for them to graze
The drovers push them hard
But you can bet they're up to it
Cause they're from Texas pard.

Them old longhorns just duck their heads
And push the ones in front
And when they get tired of all that guff
A fight will then erupt.

The drovers they then step in
To try and calm the herd
If it doesn't work then there's a chance
A stampede will occur.

The day is clear, a good day to trail
But the clouds they do watch
Cause if a lightening storm comes up
The first thing to do is get down from your horse.

Circle the critters, try to keep them calm
And if that doesn't work,
All you can do is try and turn the herd
And hope you get the final word.

Joe took the lead, rope in hand
He zeroed in on the leader
He gave the rope a throw, tied hard and fast
As he tried to take control.

It was a chore, pressured from all sides,
His horse was wearing thin
Another group passed them by
Boxing them both in.

His horse did stumble, down they went
An angel took his hand.
Now Joe is riding herd for God
In the Promised Land.

Amen

I attended the Chisholm Trail, End of the Trail celebration yesterday in Caldwell,
Kansas. My grandfather and his brothers were well known Texas drovers hitting
every trail from Texas to the Canadian border. They settled in the Sandhills of
Nebraska where they played a large part in the early history of this land. But this
was my first experience. It was really exciting even though it was a modern
setting. I thank my editor for taking me along with her.

Row On Row Ode To Gettysburg

Row on Row we faced teh dawn of a bright and cloudless sky
The command was given-our fate was set-we did not question why

We moved through fields of new grown corn-our banners furled with pride
Cannons roared-the muskets fired-we were doomed with no place to hide

We had followed Bobby Lee for two long years-and tried to serve him well
But on this charge toward the boys in blue he had sent us all into Hell

Row on Row the mothers cry-the fathers work the land
No young men to tend the fields-to give a helping hand

Row on Row the markers stand-to show the world out fate
A grim reminder of the folly of war-and the killing power of hate

Both blue and grey lined toe to toe-a generation of brave young men
A country will mourn for years to come the price they paid for our sin

Life goes on and with the pain-new fields prepared to sow
History will judge the awful truth-of the graves lined Row on Row

                                                            Norris Caldwell

Why I do declare!
I have never seen a boy with white hair!
Meeting you is such a thrill.
My name is Darling Jill.
I’ll say you’re the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.
Has my daddy been treating you mean?
I want you to take a good look at me.
Please tell me, do you like what you see?
Why, that’s the sweetest thing any boy said to me!
I hope very soon you find that gold for my daddy.
When you do, he will set you free.
Then I can have you all for me!
