Best Blindsided Poems

Blindsided

As we move through our daily life
Sometimes with heartache pain and strife
Along comes an angel with eyes of blue
Then you're convinced she was meant for you

As we wade through uncertainty, wonder, and fear
Thanking the Lord for someone so dear
That there can be such goodness beauty and love
Convincing me this is a gift from above

As God lifts me and heals me from my loss
There are unfound mysteries and bridges to cross
One of my crossings has led me to you
And to be by your side is all I want to do

We have both seen our share of sorrow and hurt
Then you find yourself in a place where they do nothing
but flirt
That's all gone now and I have firmly decided
By the Lords good hand I have surely been Blindsided

Blindsided

She said that she would always love him
As she was walking out the front door
He knew what she was really saying
I don't want to see you anymore.

He wondered where it had gone so wrong
And how he had missed the warning signs
To him, love was something you ran to.
He guessed her love was a different kind.

He still adores the ground she walked on
But it looks like that was not enough
He knew that she had made up her mind.
And this wasn't some commitment bluff.

Now he sleeps on her side of the bed
Her teacup is still in the kitchen.
He rushes for the phone when it rings
Says a prayer, holds his breath, and listens.

He dialed her number quite a few times.
Even talked to the answering machine
But now he feels like an intruder
Butting in on another man' dream.

Premium Member Blindsided In Holy Smoke

I dreamt of being transported to a strange alien land
The sky was splattered with lumps, of red gooey sand
Spacemen appeared through it, with rubbery hands
This wasn’t on my bucket list, I could not understand

Another blip sent shockwaves, from above my head
These spooky apparitions, where filling me with dread
Holy smoke billowed up, and was starting to spread
Tears filled my eyes, forming a most peculiar watershed

Consciousness was with me, but sanity was in doubt
Behind the holy smoke, a blurry spaceman called out
“Bring a crossover line, we’ve got to clear the mouth
It’s not looking too good, we better take another route”

Metallic objects clanging, triggered anxiety all around
The holy smoke dissipated, making a hissing sound
Alone and frightened, I was now sliding underground
Buried in a noisy tunnel, claustrophobically profound

Lights flashed over and over, in a flicker show display
I could see a picture emerging, maybe groundhog day
Perhaps a Dali painting, morphing surrealistically away
Which blended eerie intrigue, into perplexing dismay

I cried for holy smoke, as breathing was no easy task
Instead it was replaced, by some tightly fitted mask
A voice said “no more smoking for you, don’t even ask
Do you enjoy life in oxygen tents, and nebulising flasks”………..oh!

Funny how you begin your day with a smile
Thinking the coming hours will grace your style
So you hurry to get to where you want to be
Carry out the mundane which keep you busy as a bee
No sooner you put those feet up to bask in sunny fields
Never dreaming that weeds have sprouted amongst seeds
Seeds planted in joy for simple pleasure and delight
Then you discover joy lays dead, blindsided by weeds out of sight

Note: In this instance, "weeds" are unexpected words. no ref. to anyone, please.

Blindsided

How has it come?
There was youth,
then love-
a certained indefatigable spirit,
tending memories, coddling pasts;
those pasts, her.
Recalled experiences as exhilarating
as the finest spring breath;
he'd left it all to chance,
or specified women, and now
blindsided by loneliness
and loss,
waxing and waning unpredictably,
but mostly waning.
An ordinary mortal
leads an un-heroic life
until nothing remains inside.
No, tears are not just water.

Blindsided/Dumbfounded

Moments of numbness, replaced by a blast.
Icy cold fingers grip my chest - I gasp.

It's heat of summer; No wind in sight.
Just icy coldness of things not right.

No words can form; No thoughts set upright.
All is a jumble; My throat is knot tight.

Nothing can free; Culpability.
Denigrates dignity; Evil agrees.

No way to erase, fathom - explain.
How to go forward - enshrouding such pain.

Loss of all focus; Struggling to gain
Release from coldness; Icy coldness and pain.

Blindsided

Lived a sly lady of Mozambique
who seductivly offered a peek.
Men paid her a buck
but were out of luck.
What they saw was totally oblique.

The tears of sadness will flow in silence
to stream down upon a face as they fall
emotions born will bring their compliance
the heart will weep in a sorrowful call
a cut from a lover bleeds confusion
this bewildered state where there's no escape
pain will lead to a final conclusion
this treachery will change your heart's landscape
alone in a space where answers are old
as all of the memories will disperse
to vanish in darkness forever cold
this pain that's felt you cannot rehearse
a betrayal felt you'll never erase
to feel the first tear fall, to leave its trace

Blindsided By Foolhardiness

“... betrayal begins with trust.” ~ Phish

Nothing is more hurtful than betrayal--
The traits of Cain, Delilah, Judas, Brutus;
In their darkest hours they all led astray
those they vowed to be loyal to and protect,
spawning events that were calamitous.

Trust—
It appears, there’s none anymore
Not here, not now and never ever was;
It’s an ancient fable, a myth
long tucked away in books
in sermons and scriptures
in mythology and fairytales,
Not a treasure rare and precious,
but a mere figment of our imagination;

Trust is a portal through which
a man can manipulates, lies and betrays,
A chimera of the fantasy world
like a mirage to the desert dwellers
a floating straw to a drowning man
a flickering light at the end of
a tunnel to a desperate soul.

Trust but thyself
and to thyself be true,
Yet indulge not in thine own conceit,
Mistrust no man without just cause
Nor be credulous without proof,
Stay neither far from reason
nor close to folly…
Trust is hard to find,
But when found, don’t let go!

Blindsided To Craft Eye Catching Title

(alternately christened great insight
to those who Braille)

Ah.... so glad thee did ask
summoning poetic title
tis most daunting task
if lucky forthcoming praise
will yours truly to bask

and bathe with short lived,
while I quaff vintage
amber liquids out the
golden silver made flask.

Utter exhaustion taxes me
fifty shades of gray matter
while trying to grasp just
one measly idea amidst
all that scatter

to and fro hither and yon
analogous to mire and muck
that doth splatter
courtesy nasty driver
mad as a hatter.

Yours truly scrunches his brow
in an effort to provide,
enable and allow
gamut of meaty notions,
when finally satisfied utter holy cow,
mama mia, eureka, aha... ejaculate
(hoop fully not premature),

cuz arduous effort analogous
to navigating dhow
sailing frothy, choppy, angry... seas
until sudden (b)rain storm doth endow
sudden burst of inspiration
compelling necessary thrust to plow

ahead and expound therein how
so ever dictates of spontaneity now
let me smoothly coast along
offering scant obeisance, thou
divine fabulous intervention,
hence I feebly kowtow

despite covenant, viz devout atheist
nonetheless puzzled what activates
hitting me figurative pow
similar to Batman disabling enemy,
temporarily speechless disbelief
merely summoning wow.

Much time yours truly doth calibrate
what seems bajillion years I agitate
sitting days, weeks, months...
in an effort to nearly ready to abdicate
and disappoint countless followers

thus, this wordsmith doth dedicate
a section of this battlefield... before to late
(think Gettysburg Address)
no matter minuscule chance fate
will find mine path crossing
unknown online respondent(s),

whose feedback doth inflate
inestimable self confidence (ha)
generally held in check modesty sedate
even when praised in person, I emanate
introspective mien downplaying
genetic and/or environmental factors

wherever talent did originate
cobbling words together arose
courtesy this bookworm
doth really associate
predilection to hash out poem.

Blindsided

You made me
Think you believed me.
When I told you what I
Find out.
Then you went and Blindsided me.
Protecting your image
And your family.
Was more important
Then the truth.
So you took Emily
From me .
And I saw your true colors.
I knew then you
You were never for me.

Blindsided

I am full of anger and rage.
When will I be able to turn this page?
My life is not the way I wish it would be.
But the blessings in between I have to see.
I remember the first time I saw your face.
It was as if time stood still and no one else but you and me, existed.
A peace of heaven, an angel fell from grace.
My strength during endless sorrow, it lifted, vanished, no longer persisted.
I wonder why people fall in love.
Only to be hurt and disappointed most of the time.
Asking for mercy from above.
Sadness and pain should be a crime.
I want to remain intact, frozen, in this moment, for one day.
Forgetting who I use to be before you came into my life, as I see you walk away.
I must confess, that loneliness has been my dear friend, my endless companion since my youth.
Indeed, this is my truth.
Is happiness really worth all of these tears?
The ones I've cried for countless years.
I was blinded, captivated, by what I thought was true love, but now I see.
That in the end, whom I really have left to love, is me.

Blindsided by Dust

Her whispers of "love," a suffocating embrace,
She claimed I was her air, her very space.
Blinded, I clung to a love's sweet charade,
Ignoring whispers, the warnings that frayed.

Smiles, kisses, a tapestry brightly spun,
Purpose bloomed, a battle fought and won.
Deaf to murmurs, blind to crimson signs,
Lost in a dream where forever entwines.

Now dust settles, a truth I can't deny,
The façade crumbles, a love turned a lie.
