Blindsided
I am full of anger and rage. When will I be able to turn this page? My life is not the way I wish it would be. But the blessings in between I have to see. I remember the first time I saw your face. It was as if time stood still and no one else but you and me, existed. A peace of heaven, an angel fell from grace. My strength during endless sorrow, it lifted, vanished, no longer persisted. I wonder why people fall in love. Only to be hurt and disappointed most of the time. Asking for mercy from above. Sadness and pain should be a crime. I want to remain intact, frozen, in this moment, for one day. Forgetting who I use to be before you came into my life, as I see you walk away. I must confess, that loneliness has been my dear friend, my endless companion since my youth. Indeed, this is my truth. Is happiness really worth all of these tears? The ones I've cried for countless years. I was blinded, captivated, by what I thought was true love, but now I see. That in the end, whom I really have left to love, is me.
