BEQUEATHED BONNIE SQUARE

                           a lacy handkerchief
  embroidered with a hummingbird,
a nectar-sweet trellis, to sponge
  the waterworks - the trickle
             of misty eyes,
        the honey-suckled creek
     that runs over wrinkled
logs and leafy plum-cheeks.
  delicate hands lift
     the dapper doily —
       pat-a-pat dabbing.
a tattered smile forms
at the base of the cliffs.

The Tears Bequeathed

Of frozen droplets’ ice water in his veins swamped his heart
little crystals of permafrost too rugged too woebegone to even
drown his open-ended sorrows in the tears bequeathed by the
outpouring void the downtrodden chute where his flute had once

Charmed her flow the lock of her hair the green amber gaze
now unbound in the bygone foreplay and symphony of dreams

‘Rose Perlemoen’ mother of pearls had left him a catcher in the dry
lost in transition suffocated by fanciful reverie teased in playful
enchantment pleased of seduction seized and then ceased in smothered
abandoned fanciful fantasy of infinite love of eternal longing

‘Carpus Momento’ spurned lover and seeker had tasted seedless
grapes of temptation once fulfilled twice refused ovules released

A crevasse had opened had wrenched snatched charging pound his
rhythm then closed over cascades of torrents in misty eyed drought
When blood reached his cheeks ichor resembled no virgin’s stream yet
an ocean of red escaped from jugular vessels as he lay on the ground

His final words drowned in tears torn apart written in ink from his heart
opened by her cunning freeze like icicle’ lingo to his child yet to be born

Genuine Apologia Bequeathed...
Kickstarting Expungement Father Incurred

Within a sea futility aye wallow
riptides exemplifies sorrows
drowning me into undertow
bitter aftertaste hogties ability
to make headway, and shuck off tow

warring internal strife at this stage
of my life mein kampf,
a failed one man show
so many instances, I didst wade
into abortive oarless row
well nigh impossible to affect

equitable fair family status quo,
nonetheless an opportunity to wax po'
whet tick, sans saturated
noggin of this primate
doth horrendously overflow
wing with yesterday's

defiant spite gives no
mercy now as looming grim reaper
ready to scythe,
and unforgivingly mow
soul of this sole sun,
doth somberly bell low

mine hounded conscience
comeuppance in the know
suctioning all oxygen vacuums
the being of this generic joe
king pawn's ability
to breathe with every inflow

and exhalation of air analogous
to tsunami of sentiments
blindsiding every hello
jaggedly relentlessly shearing,
punishing, and cleaving
nocturnally visible dayglow

mine conscience rip
snorting to and fro
upon psyches of
parents, siblings emo
ting tender loving

care, and in exchange
courtesy of this (doughless) bro
two sisters, (who twisted
with frustration), decades ago
grown daughters and self!

Bequeathed By Night

Above the trees a million diamonds shine
The stars in black, flames, dancing with the moon.
Embracing dreams two silhouettes align.
Oh, lovers hear the “woo—ooh” of the loon.
That haunting sound that echoes through loves twine.
Anticipation yields as young hearts swoon.
A summer trance while memories are born.
Bequeathed by night loves natural adorn.

I Bequeathed To You

All I did is bequeathed to you,
the most beautiful of all.

You left professing love,
but you never said good-bye.

You promised to keep it safe from harm,
I trusted you, and like others.
You lied.

How do you love me, then fall
out of love with me all in the same night ?
And why did you hurt me ?
What did I do so wrong?
I don't deserve this.

I bestowed upon you my heart.
All I want from you,
is peace of mind.

Overwhelmed by grief
Feeling full of despair
Thoughts of total disbelief
More than I can bear

Snow covered grass beneath
The crepe myrtle tree
God especially had bequeathed
This special scene for me

Breezy summer shower
When there hasn't been a chance
Sprinked the ground with crepe myrtle flower
Empowering me at a glance

What do you want of mine
Dear daughter
As the father of you
And your brother
I resign my calendars

To you I give the memories
Of your mother
Fed at the fountains
Of her breast And the rest
of her unused yarn

What do you want of my time
A better childhood
Or if I could
A shower of silver and gold
To fill the soul of empty pockets

To you I leave my worldly goods
To sell to the buyers
Of filigree
The shadows of
Chimeric desires

What do you want of mine
As tender of the garden
That flowered in the Rich compose
of everyday opportunity harvested in the
Warning of the old clocks chime

I would leave with you my love
And trust you would
return me to the dust
that I may again be part of
the richness
of my birthright
