Bequeathed

Listen to poem:
Bequeathed David J Walker What do you want of mine Dear daughter As the father of you And your brother I resign my calendars To you I give the memories Of your mother Fed at the fountains Of her breast And the rest of her unused yarn What do you want of my time A better childhood Or if I could A shower of silver and gold To fill the soul of empty pockets To you I leave my worldly goods To sell to the buyers Of filigree The shadows of Chimeric desires What do you want of mine As tender of the garden That flowered in the Rich compose of everyday opportunity harvested in the Warning of the old clocks chime I would leave with you my love And trust you would return me to the dust that I may again be part of the richness of my birthright
