Premium Member My Radiator Leaks Or My Exhaust Backfires

Every time I sneeze or cough

Either my radiator leaks or my exhaust backfires!

Shouldn't be a big surprise

It's a definite sign we ain't no young chicken no more

When you grunt just putting on your socks

It's the ninth inning with two men out

If you have to turn up the volume on TV

Till it shatters the wine glasses in your dining room credenza

You are not far from the end

Another sign that you ain't no spring chicken

Is when you repeat the same sentence twice in a row

Is when you repeat the same sentence twice in a row

Also when you forget to zip up after you pee

What's worse though is when you forget to zip down

When everything hurts and what doesn't hurt doesn't work

It feels like the morning after and you haven't been anywhere

Your knees buckle but your belt won't

You sink your teeth into a steak and they stay there

You sing along with elevator music

You have a dream about prunes

Your nose and ears are hairier than your head

In dog years you're dead

Growing old is mandatory, growing up is optional

And finally... inside every old person is a young person

Wondering what the hell happened!

The Spark

It’s not the storms that bring me down,
But sudden noise or violent sound.
A cupboard slams, the coffee spills,
And I’m back among the distant hills.

A car backfires, an angry tone,
And I’m no longer here alone.
The past comes rushing, sharp and fast,
The present’s gone, the moment’s passed.

A shadow moves, my heartbeat climbs,
I’m trapped inside those other times.
So small the spark, yet fierce the flame,
It calls me back and speaks my name.

Premium Member Cold Start

Cold starting the car on a crisp autumn morning
my Dad wasn't the happiest bloke,
put antifreeze in it, ran the engine, ten minutes
and then he could pull out the choke.
On his pale blue Austin the locks needed defrosting,
condensation to clear from inside,
warm water down the screen and then give it a clean
after that, it was ready to ride.
In my sixty second year, like that old car, I fear
(and it crept up on me without knowing),
I now have developed a cold start routine
since otherwise I can't get going.
Wipe the sleep from my eyes,
stretch my arms to the sides,
move my head in a figure of eight,
a good cough to feel better
clears my carburettor,
then a yawn, and a two minute wait.
I get out of bed but my exhaust backfires,
I wasn't quite expecting that,
with a moan the good lady hides under the sheets
and I'm left with a disgusted cat.

Friends R Us 4 Us

Friends of heart for us
Are mountains like
And harbors there
Are there
In back-ups
They are us
As backfires life
Where others
Who we are in chase ghosts
In mist
who missed are mass
where winds
hit in massive at whirls
and warps of life
friends are rare lead in lit
so they are for us light
as warps and whirls in life
friends are us
and they are light
for us

Poet Portion

I am paradise when my heart sings with riddles that only understood by the responding heart...
I am the rocket only when my emotions backfires the truth that has never been told before...
I am the calabash when clay pots parade their beauty in the market of noble artists...
Natural compared to nature of crown godess in calibre of royal attires...
I am the silent stream flowing down the ghetto street at low pace...
Particularly i am the princess in a palace where princes are forbidded to bid for chance...
I am the storm from north! Heading south with a strategy to evoke the resting hurricanes of the universe!

Verse by verse i see the visage of versatile vulnerability..
Yet being vulnerable wont value my aim in the books of aimful soldiers.
I am poetic in a phonetic way hence others find me pathetic.
In the meantime i am so mean only if that make sence of my meaningful words.
I am a pure stream within the rim of the natural cascading waterfall in the rainfall.
I am polite in politics of polishing my pool of rhymimg words.

I am the jungle in jugging the jokes of my ironical junky plays.
I am the deepest horizon where dawn dances down its pridest yawn of the morning.
I am the morning breeze of the freezing winter whispers from the North.
Trending the ranges in revenge of ranches with no rangers behind my back.
Feeling the muzzle nuzzled down my puzzled emotions the minute i dazzle my charm.
I am a paradise when my passion become partial with part of me.
Literally i am liberal in literature's liberation, socially id rather be suicidal amongs the society of rhyming words.
I am a gesture in the courtesy of noble guests.
Currently i am the inherent of a current African heritage in engage of artistic words.
The blossom from the best bosom basically belongs to bizarre of blazing talents.
I am the salt sand in hands of handsome harbor.
A manouvering aircraft taking off to the air without airing any possibility of distraction.
On my landing i will now announe the nouns that formed unknown notes of my success.
In a formative way i will formally arrive in a form of a transforming poet of the paradise!

Better Yet

Everyone on earth has purpose
When that monkey doesn't perform
Life becomes a wild circus

You wake up to an alarm clock
Give up your dreams
Must not have felt important
Backfires with a ass kick in high swing

Laziness isn't a disease,
It's a choice
Everyday you deny change,
You're ignoring an angels' voice

The earth wont spin a solution on your lap
Open your senses and live the minutes
Wake up your spirit from it's boring nap

Better yet,
Do it for your offspring
Be an example
The out of reach idea needs to be wiped cleaned

Don't be afraid of rejection
The more you share,
The more you'll provoke attention
It's proud and awakening

It's standing in front of people and making them dance
Singing in front of a crowd entertaining
Never thought you'd have the chance
But you took one and it feels good
Keep doing it because it's happiness, make it last!

Nothing in this world is more important than making people smile
If there's something you can do to bring that on
Make tons of it and bring me a sample
Share it and share it again, then share it more
It's more contagious and your worries washed to shore
Seeing happiness is a moment everyone adores!

Premium Member Two Titans

Yo,
I got two titans,
They be fightin' and rightin' wrongs on the sharp curves of Nashville,
Equipped with expressive brakes,
I mean straight screamin',
Irate with hubcaps from 1993, for all to see,
They gaze and wonda?
Why one wheel got a different pattern than the othas,
Yo the 96 ultima, and the 91 camry, they be gettin' me from points a to b,
I mean my titan rides so phat, they go to the mat,
Pushin 55 and never brakin' but maybe shakin'
Yo, the camry has heat so my wife be drivin' it,
But the nissan, naked like Adam, it be helpin' me appreciate nature,
Cause ever time I turn the air on,
I get smoke all up in my esophagus,
Yo, can't dismiss, the straight bliss, of my sound system,
Yo I got 12's in the trunk, yeah 12 aldi boxes that I got for posterity,
Full of food, that I'll probably never see,
And yo, like at least every 3 months I clean my car out,
But the smell sometimes makes me pass out,
Yo, I almost killed a man, cause he got too close to my exhaust pipe,
Yo as I be drivin, I always get an audience,
Runnin' side to side to avoid the cadence, of my backfires,
The object of my desire,
My phat titans, be settin' fires, no I mean literally,
And my titans got fans, and cans of spam in the back seat,
And on my floor boards their be roach hoards,
And bold mold, remindin' that I'm never alone,
Yeah, I'm in the zone,
Two Titans,
Gettin me from a to be,
And soon you'll see em, classics!

Deceit Always Backfires

To caress egos
Hollow minds with muffled hearts
Create fancy sounds,
Resonating deceit, they
Rob their souls of true friendships

Premium Member The Beacon Beckons

Does a banished beacon beckon?
But of course all beacons beckon
But only briefly if not brightly
Though never as boldly as the baritone
Before balancing bagpipes blowing ballads
But it’s got backbone and backfires
Unlike the babbling bellow of a baboon
Baffling unbelievably because it’s so beautiful
Below bitter backlash in its blackened background
It behooves that a backtalking boyband backstage
Betwixt a balmy bamboozled ballet bandstand
Would betray benign bountiful bequests
Between a bashful baroness’ baptism by barnacle
And a bastardly barrage of barroom banter
But yes all in all the banished beacon does beckon

Unfortunate

It's unfortunate that we keep ending up in the same place
Different trials come about and we end with the same face
It's quite evident the statues of our being can relate
I'm a duel quite unnatural is the ultimate partake
And I think if you ever left me it would hurt me for sure
But the beast you find beneath that hurt is the one you must'nt lure
For within my shell you see all the things upon the surface
And yet still became apart of all the things I've built my hurt with
I'm not afraid just a little more reserved with who you are
And the quieter I'll be the more you will see that we will grow afar
It's a shame
That in spite of all the trials I was willing to go through with you
That I sit here and think why should I try when this man thinks I'm a fool
And so yes, the thought of leaving it all is as simple as it seems
It's unfortunate now that we have a child that have stitched us at the seams
No regret but a mistake that you too have done before
With ideas of a chance that you and I could work at it once more
I was foolish to leave my family and friends with the basis of being in love
And I trapped myself inside of the walls that I wish to break free of
There is happiness at times when you and I are both of subtle and calm
Then it all backfires in the realm of our lives every time that something goes wrong
I have found myself saying that I don't think I can really work this out
And to force such a love in a space that's unwanted is not what I am about
I will close off my feelings and sever my emotions that can tie within to you
And relieve all I feel without having to spill any tears that leave no room
I can say to myself that I'll be at a distance just to separate my heart
I refuse to continue giving more of myself if you just want to be apart
Let the action begin and your story will end how you set it forth on display
In the pit of deep pain the unfortune remains and the outcome will be as it may

Styx

So often, I went out of my way
For others to get their best cut hay
And sadly,
I became their camouflaged clay
Their only comfy sandy bay
Their sad melodic sway.
No consolation, nothing to admire
Jealousy and insecurity still dominate their flames of fire
So from now on,
 I’ll reside in my place
No one to interfere or replace
My holistic embrace in grace.
My world, my poetic serenity
With whatever sculptures me.
No more soul leeches
No more spirit vampires
Far away from whoever tires
And anything that backfires.
It’s my place, my space
Nothing on my conscious
No guilt or shame
I deal with mine, you deal with yours
No, no one to blame
The selected few will see through me
And love me unconditionally
They’ll understand why I left
Why I will be going away
From whatever kept me astray.
Hopefully one day they’ll do it too
hunt their lost dreams through.
From now on
I will be in my Styx
My fix
My place, my space,
My dream catcher daze
My nirvana grace,
My mystic chase.
Every pebble I collected in this earthly life
Each one of them with their story
In pain, laughter and glory,
I’ll keep on writing
Their eternal story
Mystic with the waves
For whatever it entails.

"i Love You"

I thought it was real,
But yet it was fake,
Oh this love felt so real.
But it was just too late.

Why do people play this,
Like a game, or joke,
But yet all along,
The Joke was me.

I should of seen this coming,
Yet my I was blinded,
by my love.
What I thought was to be.

I try so hard,
to make people see me.
But it always backfires,
and they pass right by me.

I should've known better,
then trust another.
I won't make same mistake twice,
But I will love another.

They say you can't Find love,
you know what I say,
Love finds you.

Oh how long till that day comes,
when those three letters are used to me,
And the One with me says,
"I Love You".

Fifty Frames a Second

Farewell to the order, cried in depth,
A surface skimmed flat stone,
For sure the past drinks slower breath,
Cold-cocked and slow deflating;
When the tyres kiss the steely rims
And wrecks replete with rusted hubs
Drop over distant hills.
Only backfires and laughs remote,
Crackled, reticent, teary mist
Calls some faraway vagabond chord
Resonance flecked with Autumn frost;
For futures crook a tapered claw
Towards the sun or flyblown lamp
With essays in cement.
Farewell to the friends, going to ground
In some blue remembered bar room
Or vaulted in a rift in time;
Fifty frames a second played
Circuitous peepshows in the mind,
As silver nitrate lightening flashed
Glimpsed meanings of a life...
