Poets and critics lament like ants grasping at different parts of an elephant poor blind men could not grasp the metaphor

My delicate heart
To get ever

With

Awesome
Appraisal
To ruin...
My dreams
Apt to form

But with

Grandpa is a peanut buff.
He buys them raw, roasts them
at 300 degrees,
a heat sufficient to kill germs
and purge unworthy thoughts.
Granddaughter samples them,
still warm from the oven,
a new taste experience.
She chews slowly,
as her eyes reflect an inner light.
"These are good," she says.
"I'm making peanut butter,
in my mouth."
Moment by moment, as life does unfold
We find mind not fully immersed therein
Assigning meaning to what we behold
Diffusing vibrations grazing our skin
What we call waking, being grossest state
The light of awareness, here too flickers
During sleep, senses rested, we gyrate
Responses both instinctive and weaker
Subtlest state of deep sleep, oblivion
We feel rested but know not what transpired
Steady attention, distant horizon
For ego, it seems, has us all hard wired
Let us begin then, with the waking state
Choosing, if need be, to endlessly wait
17-June-2021
So many years writing about many things
it's amazing to think about them all
many subjects covered as poets do
fighting within as the thought lines brawl
Dry spells occur making one wordless
one asks where are they all gone
for a moment in time so many aplenty
then like a desert full of sand at dawn
But thankfully been encouraged to pen
overcoming every doubt that crosses my way
finding that rhyme that I so do love
this is my route at present this day
But there again there's always a doubt
how long can I continue using this pen?
one day it shall end either far or near
maybe the words will dry up now or then
(This is my honest appraisal of where I feel I am at as a poet, leaving behind the work of 'divineink82' having reached the 2000 mark and beginning afresh as 'Fair Sunshine' not knowing how much longer I'll go on, it's all in God's hands under His direction and leading)

backpacks, rugs, shoes, a couch or two, lots of junk from a junk drawer,
what kind of junk?
Just general junk.
Can you itemize it?
pennies,
scissors,
toothbrushes,
matches,
pens,
eyeglasses,
toothpaste,
combs,
dog chews,
nickles,
necklaces,
rings,
thread,
dimes,
a quarter or two,
balloons,
Scotch tape.
Not an off brand? Scotch?
I stare at the imaginary appraiser in my daydream.
What would I do in a fire?
I guess I had better never have one.
Or I might become a murderess as well as an arsonist.
