Best Abu Poems
Arrested for thoughts
Of carnal delights
Tortured in the heat of a desert night
Poisoned, a corpse of poetic disdain
They do not care for the verses I write
Demons walking on holy water
I turned that water to blood red wine
They drowned
Drinking it in, I laughed then frowned
In chains, locked inside of me
Desires imprisoned. never set free
Walking along streets without destiny
Death approached, with an enticing smile
The last road traveled, at least
With his company awhile

Abu Nuwas
He proclaimed to the caliphate
In the dark hours of the evening
Rejoice! These splendid virgins are a bleeding
Drink our youth, and let not harm come our way
Peace is the brotherhood
Wine and love shall hold sway
Let us rejoice at the gardens and fresh bled flowers
The vineyards and the imams holy ways
Abu, in his boastful poetic fashion
Told the Islamic court,
Let us dance until the stars begin to fade
This is the fashion the universe has made
Embrace the learning’s of our neighbors conquered
The gardens of Babylon
In our drunkenness
Let us de-flower
Rejoice rejoice
For all that we do
We wish no harm on others
To flourish is all that we shall demand
Live with honor as you kiss the maidens hand
Abu held the court as poet and jester
Wine and wisdom invaded his soul
At times prison lay in front, enemies do fester
Freed from his irons
Abu Nuwas wrote poems of love
That lasted forever
Isis is the weed
And not the flower

His words add splendor to all that’s trite
Just like a tender breeze would do to a
Hot, summer night
Just like mountains are embellished
By golden sunlight
And just like an afternoon sky is colored
By a rainbow or a kite

Ramesses rules with an iron hand
a god beneath a blistering sky
Hittite chaff fell, he took their land
beneath his chariots wheels they die.
Hundreds were herded slaves all
to serve at the pleasure of the King
man or beast he claimed by might
and for his pleasure they did brawl,
chained, and claimed, few surviving.
He build his cities beneath death's pall.
Worshiped was he in temples true
his semblance graces Abu Simbel
with eyes wide o'er a lake so blue
his gaze belays the infidels.
Beside him she, Queen Nefertari
laid claim to a sacred place
held above all others was his wife
most renowned for her beauty
a love to last through time and space
may all true hearts pay such tariff.

A fallen villain;
Slayer of the innocent and lover of pain;
A gifted mystic who prostituted the endowments of Nature,
And thus drunk her cup of fury with mysterious pleasure.
Sharks found a rare meal of flesh and blood
That they would not have had,
Thanks to the seasond American commandos
Who supplied so full its dose.
With a huge sigh I mark your simple end,
And still mourn your complex trend
That maimed bouyant lives of both young and old.
Some you may meet in hell and seek revenge hundredfold;
Others yet shall forgive you as they dine in paradise.
My condemning cry does now rise:
May Satan, your treacherous mate,
Scold your brow with utmost hate,
For he has no ally when his mission's done;
Let him torch your groins and your hairs burn!

We traveled,
Without a single word.
Left abroad, as all things that pass.
We were the only thing that furnished the space around us.
Without a single word.
We partook in sights that denounced us as things.
We soared as the clouds that journey through the sky.
We were the only things kept afloat.
An oasis in the desert of pillows where we rested our head.
Pleasant. Calm.
As we snorkeled into a deep sleep.
We partook in sights that denounced us as objects.
Faraway into the tourism which quinched our thirst.
As we never left our seat in the voyage of each other's eyes.
Without a single word.
We traveled.

There once was a Tree,
Happy as can be.
Even though this tree had no teeth,
It would still play with its friend Keath.
One unfaithful day,
Keath never came to play.
Tree worried all through the night,
Perhaps he'd finally given Keath a fright!
For how could it be,
That Keath love a Tree.
The next morning,
Keath's mom came mourning.
Keath's stinger had been lost,
And Tree knew the cost.
Their time together will not be forgotten,
For he knew a way to have his story written.
Keath and Tree may never again be,
But alas he is free.

The future made a face at at me
I made a face back at the future
If fate did smile my way
I wyly smiled back at her
Don't mention Karma to me..
They use deragatory terms
In reference to her... ways
Am born of Destiny..
Unto me a path Ordained
Speading wings like an eagle
I do love so soar cloud high..

As an Arab guest
magnetizes all eyes,
local VIPs get RIP
status. Abu sticks
his love on Arab’s
forehead. Sweet
vibes waft up with
the spicy smell of
the feast. Abu plans
another plaza above
the dunes in Dubai. He
makes his daughter’s
wedding unique with
the imported charm.
Currency blocks his
arteries. Love doesn’t
flow. He’s gifted his
wife with a desert.
Our new generation is
enchanted by Abu’s
flames of splendor.
He creates a culture
of earning over learning.
Material spring will be
followed by an autumn .

The lights that flare
Stain my stare.
How deep or true I care,
Pales to your new flare.
I have proven shallow,
Until I can be there.

I ask for refuge to Allah from Satan the exiled evildoer.
In the name of Allah the Kind and the Merciful Giver.
Both hands of Abu Lahab to be perished and so shall he
His wealth and earnings will not be able to benefit him, you see
He will soon burn in blazing Hell
With his wife the bearer of fuel
Around whose neck a noose of twisted bark of date tree.

These words are ghostly voices
Heard from the ruined of hunted houses
Unheard by those innocent ears,
tormented by accomplices who sit in fear
These words are writers’ thoughts
Fertilized when their ink meet their papers
Bringing forth testimonies of those unheard
These words are stars at night
Unseen when the moon illumines the night
Radiates yet during night’s darkest moments
When the moon has lost its light and might
These words are sounds of a trumpet call
Sounded each day by poetry’s angel
Summoning the aggressors,offenders, to change
These words are rumors in our societies
Beautifully coated, unfortunately ignored
They are the silent screams of society’s atrocities today.

I traced along the battered spine,
But it was not in me
To brace along those tattered lines.
Much I tried to bare the bines,
As straight as I could be,
Caught laced, always, in those tangled vines.
Until – disarrayed – I broke, and heard the chimes.
I have learned to mend,
With every step along this battered bend.

Until the last light, I believe I shall remain,
A tune unplayed, in this dreary song.
During daylight and throughout the night,
A moment does not part from melancholy and I.
Should I leave or should I try,
I know what follows could not be felt as life.
Is there another song, one to play my tune?
I'm driven to sing, but this song is home.
If I go, I may return.
But it would know, and I would know,
That for however long or short,
I could not remain forever dumb.
Forever unknown, forever dead, forever her's.
