Premium MemberRemembering Scotland

Working on the ancient rocks I traveled across Scotland,
on way to Edinburgh I crossed the rolling Highlands,
trailing the serpentine road built on rocks and debris,
fenced by the unbroken lines of birch and pine trees.

Dressed in elegant tartan kilts the enthused bagpipers,
moored at road edge played the captivating Celtic music,
while in the winds blowing with blue mist from the glen
the colors fluttered on the backside pleats of their kilts.

Roaming on the rhythmic undulations of the moor,
the sprinting reindeers framed a splendid sight.
From beneath the shroud of the mystique mist
the legendary monster didn’t appear in the Loch Ness.

I couldn’t have covered the whiskey trail faster,
Scotch gold in dashes of small pegs went to my head,
enticing me to be suffused with the pristine imagery,
and to fondly remember the beauty of Scotland.

Premium MemberSaint Patrick's Day

A happy day when we wear green-
In honor of March Seventeen!
On Saint Patrick's Day
We'll hip-hip-hooray
From morning till night- and between!

We hold our green shamrocks up high-
Applaud as bagpipers pass by!
Join in with the fun
Top off when we're done
with Guinness Stout beer, shepherd's pie!

Premium MemberDrums and Bagpipes

Goosebumps
never fail to visit
whenever Emerald Society drums
call for a slow, steady, cadence
and bagpipers play Amazing Grace
at the funeral of a fallen hero.

Police and Firefighters
who have offered us
first, their service
and then, their lives.

Honored by those who stood
shoulder to shoulder, loved ones,
and others like me who
get goosebumps.

Premium MemberThe Scottish Trail

W orking on the Precambrian rocks I traveled to Scotland
O n way to Edinburgh I crossed the undulating Highlands
R oad was serpentine, built on hanging rocks and debris
L ined by thick unbroken strands of birch and pine trees
D ressed in tartan skirt bagpipers on roadside played free.

C rossing the glen on foot I almost sank like in quicksand
R oaming in the moors the reindeers framed a sight grand
U nder a veil of mist the Loch Ness didn’t show its monster
I n a hurry I couldn’t have covered the whiskey trail faster
S cotch in dashes of small pegs went straight to my head
E nticing me to remember fondly the beauty of Scotland.

Gallant Scotland

Gallant Scotland's Fame

From Atlantic to North Sea
Ours is land again
With Europe’s largest oil reserves,
Our country again free.

All for Scotland’s freedom stand
Marching in national kilts,
Bagpipers are playing new hymn –
Saluting the country’s rebirth.

Caledonia – Scotland my country
With blue flag as skies above us,
White cross as innocence of Christ,
Independent, faithful and free.

Premium MemberTwenty Four Reasons To Die

The roses of September the first
They know the dance is almost over
Slowly the life shall bleed from the stem
Beauty shall wilt
The winds shall blow away the memories
Bagpipers four deep and six long
Shall march upon botanical grounds
In remembrance of those brave souls long ago
Stoic the march, the notes lingering in the air
Falling on the deaf ears, of the already departed
Two swords laid as the cross
Highland dances of youth,
Old photographs lieing burned in the trash

Marching forth, to old peoples applause
They march towards their own death
Overlook there, over the sea, look closer
Shall you see the dust that covers me?
Twenty four reasons to die
Yet here I am on the twenty fifth
Wishing for only one

The music softly begins to play
The bagpipers leading the way
I have seen where we all have been
We used to be lovers
Now we are lyrics from old songs

We used to dance, and hold hands
Now I hold on to dreams
And yet the music still plays
Old streets, and old roads,
Ancient memories linger on

And here I am, a song in hand
And there you are, an angel’s voice
You have whispered silly thoughts
I feel your heart, and I surely wish
My waiting in the rain, won’t last long

All the trains have passed and gone
Nothing left to see but the dawn
Oceans away, and still I long for the music
The dance, the last romance, hopeless whispers
I have only to caress these thoughts, nothing more

Vill du ha efterrätt?
