The Generous Warmth of Eternal Waters
By David J Walker
The generous warmth of
Eternal waters
Drenching me
Quenching me
Pouring over me
In another
mornings baptism
The generous ardor of
the eternal auteur
Reminiscing &,
Convincing that we too
Reside in the garden of gods
in infancy
Of the craft of all creation
The generous notion
And noble nation
Of the immortal denizenry
Taking its place
On a sojourn
Through time & space
In the fissure
between the night and the morn
I am conscious
And yet sleeping
I am serious
And yet laughing
In the arms of
The only lover
I’ve ever known
A Star is Born
Preface ere the performance
lighting fixtures spotlight shades
background promotes the foreground
angles, points, edges, and bends
the auteur notes ere amends
a stage is set as time draws
the star unpuzzles magic*
lights, action, the curtain rise.

I knew you when you were young
It was hard for us to have fun
Dad is dad I am me
How much I longed to be
So proud how you have grown
Your soul has settled and has shown
Sharing you for now is for best
Dad is dad and you know the rest
Your there for me in times of stress
I hope I too make yours less
I could not wish for a better step daughter
To travel life together just like it auteur
A bond so silent it cannot be seen
Like clouds of mist in-between
How wonderful it is your are in my life’s scene
Till the end we will be, step Dad and daughter
Forever you’ll see.
What is this strange constipation?
From a man who conducts litigation?
I cannot speak write or think,
my affect is simply to blink.
Like opposed magnets my pen deflects off paper.
My mind sends me IOU's for later.
I am impeded like a stroke.
No help from a joint toke.
La dee da, my friends joke,
'where now is that auteur'?
Not that their taunts make it worse.
I can't produce one line of verse,
nor upon any topic can my mind focus.
The advice on writer's block is all hokus-pokus.
So I must resign.
No muse this time.
but other times I will shine,
and then be closer to my prime.
