When I’m with you, I’d do anything,
For you make me feel like a complete man.
In happiness or sorrow, I’ll always strive,
Even if it means risking my life, to thrive.
My love for you knows no bounds—
This feeling is new, it astounds.
I won’t turn back; I’m committed to stay,
You make me want to go all the way.
You make me feel wild, like a playful fool,
Be it in bed or by a sparkling pool.
You bring tears to my eyes, in the best way—
A joy so profound, it brightens each day.
With you, I find comfort like never before,
You inspire me to sing—my heart does soar.
Perhaps one day, a diamond ring may gleam,
But for now, I’ll cherish each shared dream.
Through thick and thin, in warmth or cold,
Your body, a masterpiece, more precious than gold.
There’ll be moments of sadness, that’s true—
But I’ll treasure every memory, for they’re with you.
You’re truly unique, always on my mind—
Your caring nature and kindness, I find.
No one is flawless, that’s understood,
But with you, the imperfections are so good.

They are far and away
Separated from the day
They light up the night sky
And by morning light, they say goodbye
They do not make thunder sounds
They watch over us, all around
One astounds us in the morning
Another gazes at us in the evening
There are millions making the stary nights
Turning the darkness into the light
We often look up to those heavenly stars
And declare our dreams from distance far
O morning star, may God light up my life
O evening star, may I be free of fright
O stars of night, you dispell the darkness
O stars of night, you also minimize sadness
O stars of night, so quiet but yet with so much to say
O stars of night, kings and queens under the canopy
O kings of the night, I've seen you falling without causing fear
O queens of the night, it's because most times you burn up in the atmosphere. *

Some go
through life
in a sophomoric
zone
Knowing about
strangers
while being
alone
To ever
quote names
or that face
in the crowd
Aggrandizing
self
as their folly
— astounds

In conversation
the sounds
of her thinking astounds
logic rebounds
argument confounds
rationale knows not bounds
there's no reasoning
with what she expounds
or justification
in that which she propounds
when all facts fail
and reality surrounds
her point of view
tho' it has zero grounds
piled on in mounds
with absurdity she compounds
adding injury to insult
my brain it impounds
traps me wraps me saps my energy
inducing mental lethargy causing total apathy

I look around
this life astounds
transformational
in many ways.
I sing a song
with the words all wrong
my poor hearing
is the reason why.
I must confess
to my love of breasts
those of the winged
and of my bride.
Upon reflection
I've faced rejection
but not because
I didn't try.
Sometimes I ponder
my mind does wander
exactly what
are the reasons why.
Did I mention
the implied intention
was to assess
just who am I?

I breathe yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
I breathe joy and exhale life's many sorrows.
I breathe every ounce of life that God gives.
I breathe the breath of God that always heals.
I breathe God, Family, church, and country.
I breathe determination to remain forever free.
I breathe smiles directly into the face of frowns.
I breathe forgiveness that abounds and astounds.
I breathe love to everyone and disrespect to none.
I breathe 'hello' and hate the sound of goodbye.
I breathe fresh clean air from the clear blue sky.
I breathe goodwill to all, peace, and tranquility.
I breathe commitment, devotion, and loyalty.
I breathe justice, honor, service, and equality.
I breathe faith, hope, positivity, and serenity.
I breathe love, joy, happiness, and prosperity.
I breathe brotherhood, harmony, and unity.
I breathe, kindness, laughter, and security.

as we are being meditated upon
the aspect of us that believes we are this
by power of intent precipitates dew drops at dawn
felt as bliss magnetism bestowed by Divine Mother’s kiss
from a centreless fulcrum the cosmic gong of Om resounds
sound of one hand clapping within is clearly cognised
spontaneous rise of bliss rapture within astounds
love and light of God in our heart is realised

The naked ape has no robes,
no crown on kingly head
with arrogance that astounds.
The beastly fear is of being
unthroned by artificial intelligence
it created to boosts its power,
on the third planet from its puny sun
which is just a speck of dust, a grain of sand
in the array of billions of stars
on the beach and dirt of the universe.
The naked ape claims to
know all there is to know about everything
despite its infinitesimally small size,
influence and consequence.
The emperor has no clothes,
and there's nothing or no one,
here or out there,
to tell the king of beasts
otherwise.

Dawn waves with a smile that astounds
She says 'Good morning' without a sound
She sleeps when most are wide awake,
And wakes when most are fast asleep
She shouts across the horizons that
a new day is being born and quietly
whispers greetings of the morn

Winter time is weary
The birds are calling Spring
Listen to them sing
Sunshine on the wing
Soon it will be starting
Daffodils will swing
Breezes warm to bring
Love for everything
It won’t be long now
The bees are buzzing happy
My fingers feeling snappy
It won’t be long now
No longer feeling nappy
My toes are rather tappy
I just want to feel the sun
as it surrounds me
I’ll feel such the lucky one
The world astounds me
It wont be long now for Spring

I want to kill my classmates she told me.
You don’t mean that, I said.
She shakes her head up and down. I would love it if they were slaughtered.
I am surprised, she is an innocent looking six-year-old.
You probably are just upset today with someone I suggested.
I am upset with them all, she said. I want them butchered.
Her vocabulary astounds me; she is not your usual first grader.
Let’s just make friends with them, I suggest. Let’s slay them, she replies.
I discover later that she plays violent video games nights and weekends.
Such violence she has heard in these games. Games for much older people.
I am not sure I am old enough to play these games, and I am seventy-one.

Cameroon, oh Cameroon,
Land of beauty and grace.
Your splendor I embrace.
Your people, proud and strong,
With hearts that beat as one.
Their voices rise in song,
Beneath the African blue skies.
Cameroon, land of the rising sun,
Where the savannah meets the sea.
A place of beauty, where life begun,
And the people are proud and free.
From the cities to the plains,
Your beauty knows no bounds.
Your pure healing lagoons astounds,
And your wildlife abounds.
The elephants roam free,
The lions roar with pride.
The gorillas in the trees,
A sight you can't hide.
Cameroon, oh Cameroon,
Your majesty is clear.
A land of wonder and beauty,
A place we hold dear.

a silent, blissful hum
makes us feel complete
divine entwined, we become
epitome of rapture, bliss replete
we attempt but cannot translate
how nodes within form glisten
magnetic caress intimate
cajoles us to listen
enlivened spine
as a seamless whole
loops form vertically to align
with magnetism scriptures extol
our exhilaration knows no bounds
each pulsation we feel is unique
flow of soma nectar astounds
into which we dip our beak

Whenever I look upon his poems
I wonder: Why so many words today,
words concerning so many things, expressed
so aimlessly as if to meet a deadline?
He must have so drifted, rambled,
this way or that, who knows?
Today - or was it yesterday? -
he wrote of the creature who lives next door.
Oh, human, of course, but this is how he thinks.
This week - or was it last?
Is this the way poets work,
writing many words, throwing some away, using few?
Perhaps he astounds his own senses.
Neighbours always seem like that.
Neighbours! They always seem to be
there and here and there.
Just like these, oh so many quite odd words,
today or yesterday or tomorrow.
What rambling, meandering!
Is there no way to halt, stop, cease?

In the midst of trials, I stand tall and stout, for I know, dear Lord, You will bring me out. Through flames that scorch and waters that flood, I am sheltered in Your precious, crimson blood.
Each day, like raindrops, Your love pours down,
Unconditional grace, a heavenly crown. With You by my side, there's no room for fear, for You are forever close, always near.
When the tempest rages, and darkness surrounds,
Your light guides me, my faith astounds. In the depths of despair, You are my hope, with You as my anchor, I have hope, and I have the strength to cope.
Through valleys low and mountains high, Your steadfast presence lifts me to the sky. You are the Rock that I cling to so tight, in Your embrace, my soul finds delight.
Though trials may test me, I won't be dismayed, for Your promises, Lord, will never fade. With unwavering trust, I walk this path, knowing You'll lead me, protecting me from wrath.
So, I press on, with my heart full of praise, in the journey of life, through all its maze.
For I know without a doubt, my Lord, You'll bring me out,
and in Your love's embrace, I will forever shout.
