Ways Of Not Arriving

My mind drifts loose
into the moving art framed by train window.
Houses in the field glitch by—
brick red roofs and windows
that hold sunset across the champaign.
I wonder what it’s like to live
in that world, where you
wake and rest with the sun.

My gaze drifts to clouds
light as swan feathers.
Their dance—effortless, unrepentant
as the sunset dyes them tangerine and pink.
I wonder what it's like to live
in their world, where you
count days with how the wind blows.

——A sharp whistle stole my attention.
The train slowly comes to a stop.
The city busy flickering
neon signs that can give a girl seizures.

I collect myself back,
just enough to function—
The rest can stay loose
with the clouds and the lovely red roofs.

You have been assigned a mountain to show others it can be moved

You have been assigned a mountain
You need to grow
This will show
The power of your weakness
That can be turned into a strength

You have been assigned your mountain
In order to show others that it can be moved
Often you are set in your ways
This will not move the mountain

Dissatisfaction is the key to progress
Doing what others don’t do can
Open up a fountain of reality that
Can show you that the mountain can be moved!

You have been assigned a mountain
You need to grow
This will show
The power of your weakness
That can be turned into a strength

Destiny

From the moment a seed is germinated, it takes in all the good nutrients it needs from the earth.
It instinctively knows its destiny it knows its purpose and it knows its worth.
From birth, all mankind has been endowed with the power to create and manifest.
Mankind possesses the power of thought with the ability to pass any test.

From the moment of conception, all have a preordained destiny, a purpose, and a reason for being here.
Nothing is impossible with God at the helm and we shall have no fear.
We as a people do not have the spirit of this world for it is only temporary and soon this old world away it will pass.
We as a people have the spirit of God and through him, we shall spend eternity in mansions surrounded by rolling fields of grass.

You are here because you have an assigned mission that no one else is capable of accomplishing.
Your destiny may be that of a doctor who saves lives or perhaps a janitor whose life is that of cleaning and polishing.
Whatever the task do it for the Lord, do it with zest, and do it with a smile.
Do this and you will have lived a life of goodness, grace, joy, and style.

To Faith Assigned

The acting soul in the cosmic drama existence,
define place in personal defeat and excellence.
Accepting the authors entire purpose role,
superimposed receiving upon its own.
Character and conduct by choices shored,
in challenges and ultimate reward.
These actors with soul in peculiar dignity,
principle cosmos to adjust legitimately.
The appropriated environment of precise,
like tones in harmony become concise.
Utterance in determined capacity,
individual notes in appropriate audacity.
The voice towards the total harmony,
singing out life through it all be.
Resultant of all in one sound harmonic sphere,
lesser sounds in soul accept as clear.
Worth of whole in cosmic association,
the body in all as divine appreciation.
Love given in nature to affect the bond of union,
improvised soul to soul dominion.
Reformed character and feeble hope surprise,
the extended soul as loving conductor to emphasize.

Assigned Seats

I feel through senses
You feel common sense
I avoid the fences
You embrace the suspense

It wasn’t a choice
To follow the leader
I too, want a voice
Not just a repeater

But we have assigned seats
In this overpopulated class
I can look, but not touch
I’ll always be last

Premium MemberRe-Assigned Sugar Plum Elf

I had barely escaped the cat’s enormous paws
When I found myself in fairyville Santa Claus
What is this place I ventured to ask?
The answer was a surprising gasp.

Are you new? The red robin queried with dismay.
Apparently I was to be someone else that day.
I am a sugar plum elf, newly-re-assigned, I said.
So he took me to a dorm where I went to bed.

Whirling dream faeries kept me up all night
Laughing and tittering, left and right.
I put the pillow all over myself,
Now sorry I was a sugar plum elf.

Real Santa Claus never came to this part of town.
But his wife Lou did, when she was not feeling down.
They showed me how to make fabulous wooden toys,
For the giant girls, and the really giant boys.

I stayed hidden as I ran between Santa’s workshops,
Not wanting to be captured by anything that hops.
The cat is stealthily, you will be eaten, they said.
But if that was true, I would already be dead.

Bothered By An Assigned Bracket

Bothered By An Assigned Bracket

Linda Arnold wrote an article about
Spring and March Madness about
busting brackets.

An assigned bracket  may lock you in;
Can not escape or get out ever again,
And if willing,
Self-fulfilling; (Merton's Prophesy)
No matter where you are or have been.

Am listening to Apple President on MSNBC.
Self regulation is best when intent is best.
Still never sure of consequences. Type of info,
controls and connects are important. Watching
MSNBC is like attending a class. Anyone must
be able to feel comfortable with Apple. Always
interested in raising the bar. What you sell at
store is you. If store is shoddy you are shoddy.

Assigned To You

I am the angel
When you are afraid at night
I will comfort you
When you awake from a bad dream
I will let my light shine bright
To surround you with love
I will stay with you to all eternity
For I was assigned to you
To protect you from
Whatever is hidden in the shadows of night
In my duty to protect you
And keep you safe
I am in constant praise
I will be your eyes
When you wander through
The dark tunnels of your dreams
