Arctics Poems

climate change

    what comes tomorrow
    leaves some elements of doubt
    earths rain wind and fire
    seems to dominate the skies
    save for our eternal light

    arctics melting ice
    overflowing tropic isles
    oceans reclaim land
    earthquakes raise tectonic plates
    tsunamis obliterate

    carbon dioxide
    polluting earths atmosphere
    fossil fuels banned
    net zero global warming
    when will mankind understand

Visions End World
~
As humanity glows climate trace
changes mankind disposed displaced
Plains surfaces are drowning
West coast ablaze on fire browning
World's vison end
~
melting arctics oceans rises
Waiting apocalyptic arrivals

Summer rain, melting Arctics
and the lipids lining the nerves
in your brain. These are the metrics
of our times. Mere resolve

is not enough to take care
along the highway—you need wheels and prayer.
When you realize there’s no there there
that’s a scary day. End there.

August, the extinction is terrifying.
Quiet, too quiet. 100% humidity, not a single insect flying.
Summer morning, summer evening, sighing
the sighs of purgatory—grief without pain, death without dying.

I’ve chosen the safety of these mountains
and the beauty of their mists—such perfection
which anyone can have for the asking.
All you need to know is the names of things.

Conflict, coercion, war, strife.
Flying high in April, shot down over Germany.
Have a good day. That’s life. Fix yr brakes.
When I hit a pothole my fillings sing.

Anything’s possible, it’s impossible
to know what will happen until it’s happened.
You can’t know what you’re doing until it’s done
and even then you stare in wonder

unmoved yet moved by the stillness
a pure goodness, bone stillness, potential energy. You can practice it
in the city or the desert.
The wilderness or the mirror over your dresser.

Saying

5/3/17

Another painting
I'm making and creating

Results and outcomes occasionally dismaying
Sometimes it goes without saying

Times of hardships
Through the tropics and arctics
As well as anywhere else, whether trailers, houses or apartments

No need for me to say it twice
Day and night
While we try to make it right
Or pay the price

Why should I say it again?
I'm not going to pretend
I know what happens in the end

It shall no longer be said
Or else it will quickly spread
And trend

Say no more
I know what it's like to be poor
Nothing but eggs, ramen or cans of albacore
Until I put in work and did a whole lot more
Continuing to score

Natures Artistry

Winters frozen majesty
    Sculptures statuesque in ice
    Arctics artistry exceeds
    Mans ability

My Cruiser of Dreams is carrying me
Down the big river and out to the sea.
Where ever I go, my boat knows the way.
I might sail to China or even Bombay.
National Geographics I've piled to the sky.
I'll climb them and catch a big cloud passing by.
All of my books are stacked by my side.
As I open each page, I take a new ride.
Someone has brought the Arctics to me,
And all their wild beauty I'm privileged to see.
I might go by train or by motor car,
I made need an aeroplane to travel so far.
I explore the jungles, the deserts and plains.
I can travel through storms or in heat and in rains.
The way may be dangerous, but I can go there
While I sit in the comfort of my easy chair.
