On a silver eve
The moon aperch lavender walls
Silver slivered through black-green vines.
Little girls cross-legged
On a dutch-girl quilt spread
Dreaming one and one.
Will he find me? My love?
Be the one to beat my heart?
Will I know him?
I want an adventurer,
A rough-cut man, strong hands
And I will know he’s mine.
Oh, no, I’d rather he
A sweet and rich man be, and
Give me babes and gowns.
On a silver night
The moon aperch lavender walls,
Little girls cross-legged sighed.

I have traversed through the thickest jungles
Fought off exotic bees
Searched aperch the highest mountains and sailed the roughest seas
Tried medicines from tribal men
Sled the North Pole in the coldest degrees
Looked inside of Lions Mouths and picked them of their fleas
My Search goes on and on and on
Quite indefinitely
All I need is for you to do as I like
And put my mind at ease
